Your capital is very large in my opinion, my advice is that for beginners, you can invest 50% in Bitcoin and 50% can invest in top altcoins.

All cryptocurrencies look bullish, so it's a little difficult to predict which ones are suitable for short-term investments...
my advice for $ 16k you should just invest in BTC, BNB, and Doge. only these three crypto coins that I saw had a potential of 3x-4x the current price.

Lol obviously OP is asking which token he should invest with $16,000 and most of people are suggesting to invest in bitcoin. Can't you read or know the different between coin and token?
I bet OP has invested in bitcoin, he just want to use his remaining funds to invest in some altcoins. Investing in altcoin isn't bad, you can turn your money to multiple times faster than bitcoin once you invested in promising altcoin

Since you posted this in the Altcoins board then I'd suggest to put what you invest in the high market cap altcoins rather selecting some shitcoins. I'd recommend those altcoins that makes it to top 20 since most smart and dumb money flow in there. Try to DYOR on those, there's no better investment if you put a little effort to research them first, besides it's your money.

I am happy to see so many people starting to take an interest in this market

Consider at this stage, entering the market at this stage has a high risk ratio and not good profit.
I think the market will continue to move up for another month or two and start preparing for a long bear market.
If you still want to invest then I recommend buying ETH and keeping it through October

You already have a $ 16k fund - couldn't be better than getting into the crypto space. The extra condition is the object selection, you need to define your purpose, hold long or short. Since you have already 16000 then I think you have basic knowledge about crypto and trading. So I think you know which are doing well and which are not. You also know maybe most of the altcoins now good but in future or after one year it may dead. So you have to pay more attention on the project you want to invest. Basically you can not get more profit from those coin which is potential. or even you have to wait for more time to get some profits. Now think about where you will invest. In those coin which can give big profit in a short period or you may lose most of your capital? or in such token which has lower risk and can give lower profit than others.?

I will suggest you to invest in BTC, ETH, LTC, ADA.

If you are new in this space I suggest you to focus only on Bitcoin or Ethereum.
so far those two coins are the leader in crypto, Bitcoin is known as the safest of all cryptocurrency and known to be the best in term of store of value. you do not need to be afraid holding it because of scam or rug, on the other hand Ethereum is known to be the most advanced cryptocurrency. in the near future Eth 2.0 will go live, it helps the network a lot by decreasing the transaction fee and maybe solving the scalability issue that means, it keeps constantly moving on.

Do not invest into any altcoins but just invest all your money into bitcoins and I am sure you will get chances to multiply your $16k into at least 2x. If you are lucky then you may get up to 5x returns in next 6 to 7 months of holding. If you are too keen to invest into some of altcoins then you may go for ETH/BNB/LTC not beyond that. Because, altcoins may get you good profits but not certainly whereas bitcoin got almost 99% assured to get you quick profits in this year.

If you ask the same question by next year then I will recommend you the same thing but your holding period will be long than the above one. Yes, bitcoin will stay continuous growth phase but we need to be patience to enjoy accordingly. Otherwise we may lose money like investing in unknown altcoins.

when things didn't turns out as you expected as in the market there's always loser and winner. you could be the former or the latter
But, still I gonna mention those 3 coins that have futures and all of them are : BTC, ETH, & BNB. what else do you think have brighter future than them while relatively low in risk? I guess very few.

I can suggest you only the major coins as you are a part of newcomers and based on your post and you have no knowledge about crypto.

1. Binance
2. Ethereum
3. DOT or XRP but i think XRP potentially to reach another ATH again. Do your own research and start to learn more about crypto before you wanna try to put your money in crypto.
Crypto is a high risk high return.
DYOR is a must. You must not rush to invest in crypto.

I recommend you to buy xrp, doge, and trx right now because the trend is good. Don't be confuse, let the asset grow for years despite of fluctuations because most popular coins right now was backed up by whales. Sometimes we tend to panic, but always try to learn managing it, and you won't notice all efforts will be rewarded.

If this is an extra you are willing to lose, familiar yourself with Bitcoin. It is the first coin you need to know when getting into crypto. Forget about Student Coin. Forget about Spade Coin. Forget all them shitcoins. At least for now while you are a newbie. You can play with them later. If I were in your shoes, I'd invest in no other coin but Bitcoin.

Buying altcoin only works when you are early investors that had gone thru DYOR to the project. For instance, if you have forseen that VET will go up this way up in the future then you must have invested more than 30% of your capital in it while its less than a cent and waited a long time for it to become this big. But if you are not fond of DYOR, just get into BTC as its safer. But all of them needed waiting if you are not going to trade.

The best advice you can get today is: Buy bitcoin. Buy and hold it.

There are thousands of coins in the coinmarketcap. Most of the top 100 projects are SCAMs. How to make money in this market if you are new?
IMO, the best coin even for newbies and veterans is Bitcoin.

Most of us here have done something similar to that image below:

The first coin I bought was bitcoin. A few months later I was buying alts... I ended up losing a few bucks, making some more.... but now I am a bitcoin maximalist. There is no need to risk money in shitcoins, while bitcoin is doing 100% every few months. It has also solid fundamentals, solid use cases. Fully decentralized (no other is).

just buy and hold it.
