Reading about gambling addiction I don't think it's a new topic, but fitting to be in here, I just want to ask: between casino gambling, in-house gambling, and one-on-one gambling with physical players available on the table, which among these is more likely to turn someone into a gambling addict if the person doesn't have self-control in all his gambling activities?
For me anyone of the types of games you have explained, can turn a person into an addict, but it depends on the one the person mostly played on a regular basis. Addiction it's not determined by the type of game you play or the position you played it, but how you take a particular one serious every Day. In the difference types of games you have just displayed here, I think in-house gambling is more prone to addiction which may as well be called online gambling. Which after you loss your fund in your account, you continuously fund and play until you are left with nothing in you thank account. That is where I fear online gambling the most.

I think it can vary from person to person.  Because as far as I've seen I've seen people addicted to sports betting as well as casino slot games.   But what I have seen in my own case is that sometimes I can't control myself while playing casino slot games which increases my losses so I would say in my case the addiction to casino slot games is more.

I don't think there is truly any gambling that's most addictive as there's never truly been any census taken across all boards across the world. What I can say is that, since the advent of the internet and the ability of people to be able to gamble on their computers and mobile phones, online gambling have seem to be more addictive than offline gambling since people can now sit at their comfort places and gamble online.

Secondly, it has been reported that men are most likely to be more addictive to gambling than women and if this is the case, then, strategic forms of games such as card games and betting games are more addictive than non-strategic games like the slot machines which is also quite reasonable since strategic games tend to charge and engage the brain more, they can easily consume the brain into becoming addictive to them rather than those non-strategic kind of gambling games.

If making profit in gambling becomes the top priority of a gambler, the chance of becoming addicted is inevitable no matter the type of gambling or game it is. I have said that before. I was watching a movie lately, the man was a land base gambler who gambles only on live fight in a ring. His addiction too bad that he sold his Son for $100k and ended up to lose the whole money in the  bet again. Since the man's aim is was to make money from gambling, even if he was an online gambler, he will still get addicted.

If profit isn't the first priority of a gambler, I'm not sure there if is going to be any motivation in the first place even though some expert claim that fun is what gambling is about. The only thing I see here is that too much love for money makes one miss track even when you see some mistakes, you are wouldn't be able to see them because your focus is money when you are supposed to be playing a healthy game that will give you a healthy profits.

Addiction outside gambling most often happen when you do something frequently, you can be addicted to pressing phone even in the midnight when you are meant to be sleeping, one can be addicted to smoking when they do it too often too, this is how gambling addiction works too. If you must gamble with money on mind, don't make it look like you don't have any hope outside gambling, do it like you are using it as a side husle.

In my sports betting, I solely gamble for the money, and the reason is that I saw the less risky opportunity there, and till today, what I have been doing for about two decades is yet to make me get addicted. This is why our mindset towards gambling matters so well, we should never believe that it is the avenue through which we will earn that millions to get rich in life. Instead, we should have a neutral mind about it, and even if our goal is to make money, it should be done conservatively in such a way that a viable plan that will help our budget and management and also preserve our psychology towards it is properly tabled down.

Yes, this actually sparked an argument with my friends and me before now. They were of the opinion that sport betting is less risky than casino games, and as such, it cannot make a gambler addicted and can also be profitable, but I always countered them with my own opinion that there are no kind of games that cannot make a gambler addicted. You are right in saying that it depends on mindset. Humans respond differently to things; some gamblers cannot be into sports betting for two decades without getting addicted.

Sport betting was also how I started gambling, and it's been 5 years and I'm still not addicted. I do bet on casino games too, and I'm still not addicted. Conclusively, I agree that being addicted depends on our mindset towards gambling.
Even playing one particular game everytime can lead to addiction. Addiction comes when we are doing one thing over a period of time. Gambling become an addiction when we keep trying everyday to make winnings and it got to a poing when we are become less disciplined with a lot of procrastination when we ought to do other things. We can get addiction even in bad character so it does not depend on the kind of games or bets we are taking. The most important thing is for us to be wise and make sure we control our urge when it comes to gambling. When we find it difficult to control our emotions then that kind of betting is becoming an addiction.

Indeed if goal target from the people when they starting to gambling is want to making money then they will always start looking for the ways to win from gambling and without realize they do not know when to stop because all they have in mind is how to win big money from gambling and when people lose they always be attempts to recovered their loses and do more gambling i think if we see based on their habit these type of people potentially will being an addicted gamble but unfortunately we commonly seeing these things happened in our environment because they thought gambling as source income which this thought is very wrong and can lead them to being an addicted

Of course, because it is very unlikely for them to be able to impose limits on their gambling approach when their intention and goal is to make a profit, it means that it is very possible for them to always go overboard, and I think that is a sure thing because in gambling there are so many things - things that at first glance look very tempting which often lead gamblers to fall unconsciously, such as applying greed or chasing losses and over time they will definitely become addicted gamblers without realizing it.

And also I would say that the idea of earning in gambling will ultimately only make them become addicted to that activity which makes it really difficult for them to pass even a moment of time without gambling, after all I think it is completely unreasonable to put any hope of earning in place which has absolutely no certainty and only depends on luck. You can earn income from general work consistently, but you will not always be able to make money in gambling in the long run, because there is no element of consistency in a place that only depends on luck, so it is better to stay away from the idea of earning it, because it is a door to open up bigger and worse disasters.

Before now, I was saying a similar thing: the reason why some people will get addicted to gambling is that they only have the goal of making money from gambling, so it doesn't really matter if it's online or land-based gambling; it doesn't matter if it is sports games or casino games. The gamblers who have the intention of only making gambling a source of income will likely get addicted because they need to keep gambling all the time to make sure they win some money in order to meet their daily needs. They can get pressured by daily desire, and in trying to meet their needs, they will need to keep gambling, which could lead to addiction.
You are right though, our minds should not be on that money per se. But at the same time, you might have that goal of making money in gambling and still not get addicted. This is why we have to preserve our minds while gambling and not be desperate about the money as the desperate gamblers are the only ones who will always be aggressive about it which will never take them anywhere but for them to lose more than the money wagered, which includes their sanity.

In my sports betting, I solely gamble for the money, and the reason is that I saw the less risky opportunity there, and till today, what I have been doing for about two decades is yet to make me get addicted. I know any form of gambling can produce gambling addicts, but among all, there is one that is most common, which is what I want to hear from others.
For me, I'll say all form of gambling can be addictive or can create an addiction. That's be because regardless of it being online offline, casino or in house, gambling is still gambling. It now depends on how much time the gambler spend on gambling. If some one is the type that is ready to use a whole day in gambling, he will for sure make some losses and gradually becomes addicted. ibe seen so many addicted gamblers who plays locally but aren't able to control addiction. Same with online gambling. So it actually depends on the gambler in question how much time he spends in gambling.

I think you're wrong because the immediacy and 24-hour availability of online gambling makes it much more potentially addictive than face-to-face gambling. You can gamble from the time you get up to the time you go to bed, even when you are having a shit with online gambling, which you couldn't do when the only way to gamble was to go to physical gambling sites.

From my observation it depends on the amount of bets people make. If a person is used to make small bets, then such person will be addicted to slots. Small bet, quick game, are available everywhere. Perfect combination to become addicted. People who place large bets due to a wish to win more, usually get addicted to roulette, as multipliers are bigger there. But, as slots are everywhere, they are the most addictive gambling games.
This depends on each individual, they prefer what games are provided by the host. I think every gambling game has an effect or makes a gambler become addicted because the game gives each gambler its own interest. It can't just be said that small bets are only on slots, there are many other games with small bets, and if you want to get big results with big bets only on roulette. Of course, each person is different in determining their gambling game.

Betting on slots can also use more money, so there is no guarantee that those who play slots only bet with a little money. After all, even though they only play with a little money but they always gamble every day, then it can also be assumed that they have spent a lot of money on slots and not just a little money. But at least, it is difficult to determine what kind of game or gambling that makes many people become addicts. But basically casinos are places where many players become gambling addicts,  because casinos also show attractive displays and also many bonuses are offered.

In the current situation in my country most young boys and girls are more attracted to gambling. Betting on football and cricket in particular i.e. sports betting is becoming hugely popular. Youngsters bet on cricket matches and football matches from various betting sites and casinos. Moreover, since online gambling is an easy gambling system for the younger generation, these accessible gambling systems are more attractive to the younger generation than the old ones. Due to this our future generation will be under serious threat.

Amongst young men I would say sports betting is the most popular by far.
I think that it is because it is one of if not the most accessible type of gambling. Casinos are often banned in a lot of countries and even online, it’s quite difficult to actually start playing let alone to withdraw your winnings.

However with sports betting, it is everywhere. It happens among friends or just small communities making it relatively easier to get in on to.

That's right, someone who wants to gamble is indeed their right and we cannot forbid it, but it must be known that gambling has a very high risk, we should provide good direction so that beginners run it carefully and must maintain good control so as not to behave wrongly in carrying out gambling activities.
Everyone must be aware of the risks of gambling, that's why most beginners are more likely to be addicted to gambling because usually they can't control themselves so it's difficult to stop, any steps to remind beginners will definitely be in vain and they will ignore any advice from the gamblers. here, there is a lot of advice given by the community in almost all gambling threads, but there are still cases where beginners are addicted to gambling and cannot stop it, even though they have been reminded that gambling is not a place to seek wealth, let alone money, so they will realize it themselves. Later, there is no need to force them to stop because they will definitely ignore it even though they actually know the risks of gambling.  Grin

Slot gambling is very easy to play, the simple reason is because we only need to press the spin button without needing any strategy, this ease is what makes slot gambling more popular than other gambling games. Currently, slot gambling is a trend in various circles, I also see this is the case in my country, even though according to the rules gambling games in any form are illegal in my country. However, this does not reduce the interest of slot gambling fans, by using a VPN, they can access it easily.

I believe gambling is a matter of personal choice, and we should not interfere with their pursuit of pleasure. However, social control must remain in place. It is better not to publicize gambling activities, because this can cause pressure from the environment where they live. Apart from that, the ease of playing slots makes many people addicted because it doesn't require a lot of capital to play it. I also observed a phenomenon among slot gamblers, they seemed greedier when it came to winning than other gamblers, perhaps due to a lack of understanding or simply because of their own character.

Yes, I totally agree with you, that slot gambling has many fans or enthusiasts who really want to jump in and run the slot gambling, especially among young people, they are already proficient in running the slot gambling without needing help from others, technically they learn from social media networks that can make it easier for young people to play the slot gambling they want.

That's right, someone who wants to gamble is indeed their right and we cannot forbid it, but it must be known that gambling has a very high risk, we should provide good direction so that beginners run it carefully and must maintain good control so as not to behave wrongly in carrying out gambling activities.

My personal experience with gambling addictions is very limited, none of my close friends or family members have been addicted to gambling. I do see regular gamblers in my hometown casino, but I don't know if they are struggling with an addiction. What I do know from personal experiences are people struggling with mobile gaming. Which is why I would expect that someone gambling constantly on his phone has the highest risk of becoming addicted. My cousin is addicted to mobile games, he is spending many hours every day on the phone trying to get new things. There are also loot boxes involved which makes it a type of gambling. The problem is that you just can't take a break from it, because you use your phone everyday and will be constantly reminded on the games. It's easier to stay away from a physical casino than it is from your phone.
