Gambling addiction is not game specific, it is an individual challenge we have to deal with in the game we like so much that we go into addiction on it, we have develop interest on something and there's nothing bad in that, we have to know how we can make the balance in-between and allow the pace of satisfaction not to affect the way we are gambling, this also have to go along with our personal way of thinking, behavior and how discipline we are in gambling, knowing what is good for us and what is not and when to gamble or not, the simple conclusion is to be a disciplined gambler, if we are not, we can be addicted to any gambling games.

OP there isn't  problem if this topic has been discussed before, not everyone had to opportunity to participate then but you just gave us another chance at it.

Gambling in general if not controlled would make anyone an addict, and I'm not sure if the type of gambling you engage in matters or would make you more addicted or not, it all boils down to self control.

But I think casino gambling should have a better chance at making you a gambling addict cause you would make friends and if you are a high gambler you might want to keep a big profile for your friends not to think your broke, so I think it becomes a thign of commitment with casino gambling.

Online gambling should be on pair with casinos gambling cause ive seen what this shit has done to people around me, and how hard it is to quite, it so easy you can gamble with smaller amounts and have access to higher rewards, they play on our greed and losing such small amount you would be like what do i have to lose and its easier to get addicted that way.

It's true as you said, addiction doesn't just depend on the type of game. whatever type of game and wherever it is. it is the gambler who is in control of himself. If a gambler can no longer control himself, of course addiction is absolute and cannot be avoided. and when that happens, there will be no time to think about the real world anymore. all that was in his brain was gambling to win.

I don’t think addiction is caused more by games but rather by the player and irrespective of the game, one can be addicted and it all depends on the gambler as there are several addicts in the classes of games you mentioned but for the cause of the thread, I think it will be more of the in house games as personally I’ve seen most persons spending their entire days in a physical shop and as for the online gambling, I think one can easily gamble away all their money at a go which simply means that, the online games has the capacity of draining a player more quicker but the in house game has the potentials of easily turning someone to an addict.

I think I will have to disagree with such a conclusion. Such conclusions I believe is just a wrong data and collection based on random instances. Now what I mean is probably you have come across a few gambling addicts who spend a great deal of their time on card games and thus you just made a conclusion that majority of gamblers who are addicts play card games which could be very wrong.
Another person out there who has probably met a few gambling addicts also but in his case these addicts were frequent sports gamblers will also wrongly conclude that a majority of gambling addicts are players of sports predictions. To both persons they are right but their Ideas are actually contradicting based on the fact that they just made assumptions with very little data and instances.

Addiction is more on the dopamine thingie though which means that chasing wins and recouping losses is secondary at most and it's more like people that are addicted to gambling are addicted because of the fun that it gives them combined with the frustrations of losses. For me, what you're saying isn't an addiction though, it's obsession because in obsession, you've got a goal that you're so focused into getting whereas with addiction, the journey of having fun and pleasure is what's keeping you there, you don't look forward to the destination because the destination is calming down and having those withdrawals that are the most common side effects of taking a break while still suffering from addiction.

In my opinion I think the idea of attributing a certain percentage of gambling addicts to a particular gambling activity is actually relative. Gambling addiction is not as a result of the kind of gambling activity sometimes but rather the gamblers level of responsibility and discipline himself. Of course I am excluding those that engage in illegal gambling activities.
Anyways, if you should pick out a gambling activity and say that this has the highest addicts, I believe it will be kind of awkward due to the fact that you are actually judging based on very little information around you. That's what makes them happy; if it makes you happy, then you will want it more; if you want it more, you will get addicted, and you'll be obsessed.
