Eth has gained a large foothold with all the developers building into it, i can't see it change in the near future, or even further in the future. Maybe it could change if the smartest devs and biggest companies would move to develop on some other chain, but why would they suddenly do that?
Bitcoin's will surely have good days ahead post halving but which will be the most valuable altcoin for 2020? I vouch on Ethereum and Tron but I would like to know expert's opinion as it would help other members while choosing their altcoin investment as altcoin does pump along with bitcoin so those who cannot afford to invest into bitcoin can invest into altcoins.
I am still rooting to ripple. And in addition, it is in the top 10 list, it would be a long way to go for ripple to be overtake. And in addition, everyone doesn't like decentralization in which ripple has a feature of traditional approach like banking. Besides, XRP could easily transact across border with just a cheaper price. It is very tough not to include XRP for beginners and seasoned investors.

I do not really agree Tron is one of the most valuable altcoins.. I'm not saying Tron is a bad coin but I think Bitcoin Cash, Litecoin and BNB are more valuable than Tron.Where do you think the bad token is ?? I think Tron is categorized as the best altcoin too because it is in the top row, even investors still believe in this TRX coin for the future, I know some experts have predicted that in 2020 it will reach $ 0.05 they know technical analysis about it so that can happen and don't think Tron's tokens are bad.
for now there are still too many coins with the development of their respective projects if you only attach 1 coin it will be difficult, some predictions from me THERE, XLM, ETH, BCH and maybe many more, I just mention at the top.

The value of the platforms must be included as the main consideration too.

I'm not saying Tron is a bad coin but I think Bitcoin Cash, Litecoin and BNB are more valuable than Tron. last year investors are giving huge chances for the project teams but most of them are carry away their investor's money and forget about the development of their product which is really destroy investor's trust
I don't think they forget about the project but simply don't feel motivated to do anything with prices going down. I can somewhat understand where they are coming from, but they chose to start the project and should continue with it.This is where people lose confidence in projects and dump most of what they hold. In general, this is when you want to get in because it is much better holding coins at current levels than at when people were busy buying around the all time high.
There are many potential projects which may do well in the future but you can't see any of them now and predict how it might work in the market. The market is completely fluctuating now and with that alts are bleeding.
This scenario really disappoint the many peoples, But still many new investors are entering the crypto market and huge volume projects are entering silently. Because trusted projects are focusing the large revenue so they are all Invest the right projects. Number of projects are bleeding in current fluctuation, But it will raise soon. 
I have been investing in this market for over 3 years and so far I'm pretty sure that most altcoins will not be able to recover the same price as 2017. Only the top altcoins in this market will probably recover. If in the next 1-2 years the bull market starts, it is best to invest in BTC and ETH in the long term to be safe.

I am not expert but i have my belief in ETH again in the next bull run. I think with ETH 2.0, or maybe history that ETH follow bitcoin when bull run come already enough for me to pick ETH as my investment. Well, at least it is better than other coins for me. 
Well, the point is about bullish trends in the future and what altcoin will have more valuable potential when they occur. I personally believe that popular altcoins will still get a good place for a higher pump and of course there will be many altcoins there who have the same opportunity to get the pump throughout that period.
the popular altcoin has always been the main choice in this issue, so if you ask altcoin what is the most valuable, then the answer is among popular altcoins. I personally chose ethereum as the most valuable altcoin. so far, the benefits of ethereum for other coins are huge, even on some other popular coins.
I believe that in the last 2-3 years, the most valuable alts in cryptovolta is ETH, of course there were a lot of coins, which once brought a lot of profit, but ETH has been steadily bringing profit for several years.
I will not decide only for one coin, I'm filling my altcoin bag up with NWC, RVN, ATOM and SNX.

Ethereum and Litecoin have experienced a great decline, I think these two altcoins will become more valuable in 2020
Ofcourse those 2 coins will be have better price next year because the current price is not make sense for those 2 goods coins. end of the year always be a big discount of all coins because many people are selling their coins for christmast and new year. So, for new investors, end of the year is always good for cryptocurrency investment

Altcoins that have wide functions will always be valuable, also low transaction cost and solid team will make those coins more valuable. Unfortunately, I am not sure which ones but let me note few of them, I will say Ethereum, Tron and Litecoin.

talking about altcoin, I might be more in favor of ethereum and binance coins, or bitcoin cash than Tron. this is because when I see developments that are happening right now, BNB and BCH prices are quite good. BNB takes advantage of price increases that occur in bitcoin, and pumps are better, whereas for bitcoin cash always follows the development of bitcoin prices, which means that when bitcoin prices rise, the price of bitcoin cash also follows the flow of the increase.
