I will make some changes to the service today considering some of the feedback that I got until now. My focus will be lowering the network fees that we're paying and adding more explanations on certain pages to have better user experience and make it less confusing for users.

There is also a typo for Fast mode fees (+ network fee (0.0001 BTC)) , it should be 0.00015 BTC
Same goes for Note, it's not yet displayed on the Deposit page, but it's the same at 0.00015 BTC

If you encounter any "unclickable" buttons, it's because of the width of your browser window. If you go close to full screen it should work well, this will be fixed too.
- When combining notes, I once got a 500 status error from the API (server was probably down), and yet I got an "invalid note(s)" alert. This can be confusing to the user since he will think he messed up somewhere while the issue is on the server. Probably better to return 404 if the note doesn't exist and show the appropriate message.

- The whole "IP Address" is a bit confusing. Could you explain a little bit about it? The LoG of both "combine" and "withdraw" functions only mention those addresses, so how do we prove that the API address 1Abc... and 1Xyz... had X+Y funds and they both got deleted for a third note of API address 1Fgh..., which is supposed to be unspent? Maybe there are improvements to be made there.
-You can use Combine or Withdraw only after your deposit has confirmed, I will add this info to both pages so it's less confusing

-I suppose you mean API Address? That is the Public key of your Note. For each Note you should have an API Address, and when you combine them you receive a LoG saying something along the lines of: You have credited the API address x on Mon Apr 03 2023 00:00:00 GMT+0000 (Coordinated Universal Time), using the following API addresses:  1 - y; 2 - z;

Payment Gateway Allows Recurring Payments
I checked your service on Clearnet. I don't need to use TOR browser. I liked the quick opening of the ser site in Clearnet. I didn't have to choose dog T-shirts and prove that I'm human. 5 seconds passed and the service started.

I have used several mixers before and your Fast option is standard and no different from other services. The interface of all services is different, and I like your interface.

The "Note" option is not available on many mixers. This is a more interesting solution, but I won't store many coins in this option.

Sometimes I use mixers to hide my wallet. For example, the site knows my IP address and sees the receipt of coins from a certain wallet, then we can already make the assumption that the owner of this IP address owns this bitcoin wallet. VPN is not that reliable and will reveal my real IP address on request to the police.

If you have "Note" option, then you need to make one more option for anonymous payment. I need to pay the service 0.1234567 bitcoins to the BTC1 address. On your service, I enter the BTC1 address, enter the payment amount 0.1234567, select the commission, and you write to me what amount I need to send to your BTS2 address.

It may be possible to do this with a calculator, but in some cases, if I make a mistake and 0.1234565BTC is sent instead of 0.1234567BTC, then I will spend a lot of time correcting this error.

Farewell, Leo
Alright, let's test this out. I will make this procedure transparent, meaning that I will reveal sensitive information like inputs, outputs, just for the sake of testing. You should never reveal this kind of information when mixing regularly.

(Note: You can click on images for full screen)

Mode: Fast
At start, I'll try out the fast option, which is discouraged as far as I understand, because it's trivial for someone to notice the small time gap between deposit and withdrawal. It feels like the traditional manner to mix coins, but upgraded with blind certificates. I've sent 100,000 sats, and I'm currently waiting in this page:

Code:
TXID: f0f1d4043b30b0665bcb521dabe6bbb56bf51bc3b7bd61f63361ae1afb2f4e2c
Sent coins from: bc1q7u5chaurny38t0f7j0awryxdwwqal8jhnnwutj
Expecting to receive mixed coins in: bc1qvdpfrsdxhzn293ah6ll2m6l3rvwtpmne3n6rt0

After a few minutes of refreshing (using "Refresh Transaction") it finally appeared. It shows that it's received my 100,000 sats, and that it waits for 2 confirmations. However, I didn't know that I'd pay ~15.2% as service fee, which is what I understand from the image below. I am very sure I had chosen a 0.25% fee.

Edit: The fee appears to be 0.25% plus a 15,000 sats extra for every address used. Not very satisfied, you should have cleared this out in deposit page. The only thing you write is the 0.25-4% service fee, and the network fee (which for some reason you say it's 10,000 sats). I also noticed that you later spend those funds with astronomically high fee rates. Check it out, you spend your deposit output with a 49.5 sat/vb!
Code:
TXID: 43f082b00c9e4d60c85c0907d182fa281d3d6dbf226f0d5f2ca1b1a2af452238

After waiting for 2 blocks to be mined, I finally had my transaction confirmed twice. The status now looks like this:

Edit: My coins have arrived about half an hour after I made the deposit. It looks like this:

Mode: Note
As I'm waiting for the previous mixing to finalize, I'll simultaneously mix with Note.

  • Select "Note"
  • Make sure that I select 0.25% as service fee. (I want to check if it'll charge me 15,000 sats here as well)
  • Create a file where I will save the generated private note. (Suggestion: make it downloadable, just like the letter of guarantee)
  • Send the coins, and.. wait.

Okay, so transaction confirmed twice again.
Code:
TXID: 7857ab30262bb823f526ab12369d5ad379286e5c88dbd601178491c3c131a06d
Sent coins from: bc1qlerpeh3uyn44hujqwtnyjtqewjrd24fz298nh8
Expecting to receive with note

I clicked on "Withdraw Note", entered my note, and yep, I've had a balance of 99,750 sats. At this time, it did point out that I'll be charged with 15,000 sats for each withdrawal address:

I will not withdraw. I'll try sending the rest of my charge, plus the previously confirmed mixing, and make another note which I'll combine with this one.

So, another deposit, of 233,740 sats.
Code:
TXID: eb3dc53335a830f137ea952ce12cfdf2cda2d8a812b3c48288aebe82e66279cc
Sent coins from: bc1qvdpfrsdxhzn293ah6ll2m6l3rvwtpmne3n6rt0, bc1q2435nw46nqpvmtm0e80ql9acvdsaats875ee8g
Expecting to receive with note

Confirmed, notes are combined into one, tried to withdraw this new one, and boom, error:

So, I'm currently at -234,311 sats. I can still withdraw the other two notes, but I want to withdraw the combined one, to save 15,000 sats. I will probably contact whirlwind as that might be a bug.

Edit: I talked with them, my combined note now works.

I'm a little disappointed by the user experience. The service might try out something innovative (which is blinded certificates), and I'm very curious to see how it'll go, but it has shown me that it doesn't respect money the way I do. And I do believe this, because it overpays in fees, charges lots for withdrawal, doesn't clear out the total fees, and then this error with the combined note.

There's also a grammatical mistake in deposit page; "anonimity".

Already sent $489.00+ BTC and confirmed. It's the FAST option but time picked 48 hours. Once it is in my wallet my review for FAST option will be below:

[Review for FAST option]
Sent: 0.01690363
Received: 0.01671138
Fees paid: 0.00019225

Gonna try the NOTE option soon and review the NOTE option below:

Second note
Sent: 0.00474263

Overall smooth experience. Chipmixer was the best as you could volunteer the donation but here all fees sucks but hey (!) everything has a price.
I still don't understand why did I chose a fees LOL
Why would I give 4% not 0.25% + the 0.0001 BTC for each address, difference?

Take a look at my merits, It's lucky number

Some thoughts:

- The website design is clean and very slick, good job.

- I really like the "Note" mixing (reminds me of you-guys-know-who, which I always enjoyed using Cheesy). I created two separate notes and funded both of them. Then I tried "combining" Note A alone (basically destroyed it for a new Note C), and later combine Note B and Note C for a third Note D. Withdrew my coins and they arrived just like any other mixer after the time I specified. No issues at all.

A -> C
B + C -> D -> my address

- The whole "API Address" is a bit confusing.

- You should definitely, absolutely, add some kind of verification (either on the frontend or backend, or both) on the address the user inputs. I managed to go to the next step (Deposit) by using a 26-length random string, which is NOT a valid Bitcoin address (i.e 11111111111111111111111111).

- The coin output (what I got from the mixer) actually came from a 3-of-3 multisig address. No bs there.

- Maybe tell the user to save his deposit session and/or include that in the LoG? This way he can easily come back and check the status of his deposit even after closing the browser (better than forgetting it or manually having to go to /deposit/XXXXXXXX). Took me some time to notice that the LoG file is named after it.

- Minor UI suggestion, but maybe hide (or at least show the cursor "not-enabled") on the percentage slide of the last address (when addresses > 1), since you can't move it anyways.

- Minor UX (totally optional) suggestion, but maybe allow the user to regenerate the captcha on the page (usually by clicking on it) so he doesn't have to refresh it. I got at least one hard one (and failed it Grin).

- Very super minor UI issue, but you can click the Withdraw page "Continue" button even when it is disabled (i.e when the Note field is empty, shows the "invalid note or empty balance" message).

Actually enjoyed using the mixer. No doubt that you really get a big privacy bonus when you can hold your Notes for a few days rather than receiving the output coins after a few hours. I don't think there is any other mixer currently active with this functionality, which is a big plus for me.

Extra bonus points for not going with Cloudflare, the easy route. Any eventual downtime due to DDoS attacks is 100x worth not having a big corporate MITM, in my opinion.

@Hhampuz, so how many members are going to be accepted or everyone is going to be paid as long as they are trying the service and writing review. I would like to know my efforts are not going to waste. What criteria determines to get $100. It seems if you send $5 then one need to agree that it was right amount.

Thank you.

Everyone who actually tries it out and tries to write a decent review will be given BTC. Just something basic like "I sent btc with fast, I got btc and it was fast" would get like $5-$10 but if you actually have some insights and write something good (and if you are "known" here on bitcointalk, like yourself) you'll likely get the $100.

No limit as of now, may change depending on what kind of reviews we are seeing in the next few days!

This reply goes to @coupable as well.

Edit; Minerjones is currently holding ~$40k worth of DAI in escrow for this campaign. Please note that this escrow address will not be used for payments, it's basically just a safeguard so you can try out the service without having to worry that whirlwind would take your money and run. I've been told by whirlwind that if necessary and if requested they'd add more to it. @minerjones can confirm this when he's around, too.

Payments for the reviews will be handled by me, from the signature campaign wallet (which I'm in control of). The reason why it's set up like this is that even though I could have escrowed the "safeguard" for this campaign I wanted someone from the outside, yet very trusted, to take on that role just for added legitimacy.

Let me know if you have any other questions!

Yes, this is correct
Escrow currently holds over $40k in funds
Nice! Looks like mixers are showing off their wealth and they are trying everything to fill-up the empty space Chipmixer left. It's ultimately good news for the forum ecosystem.

Thanks for clarification Hhampuz. Please book a spot for me and I will come back here after few days of testing the entire system. Will drop my BTC address with the review.

My BTC address- bc1q4ytcr43xq6xjpj6z0s76r4x4rx2g4fe5qvv9yc

I don't know if this is intentional from whirlwind or not. Here's my mixing-
1. my addy to WHIRLWIND1 address
2. WHIRLWIND1 sent BTC to their X address
3. And sent me BTC to my desired address from address X (same address from the 2nd step)

Again,
1. Used Notes- sent BTC from my address to WHIRLWIND2 address.
2. WHIRLWIND2 sent BTC to X (same as previous)
3. When I withdrew, they again sent me BTC from address X
Does it work this way? I don't think so. Basically, it's like MY btc to whirlwind and the same BTC is being sent to me.
I felt like I was sent my BTC.

I had a fake call to the support with a fake issue just to check out how they respond. Their response was instant and they tried their very best to help me solve the issue though there was no issue at all lol.

Here's my feedback based on my experience with the Fast mode.

1. When my TOR browser was reduced in size, I can't access the QR Code. You can make your site responsive I think.

2. For the same reason above, the address copy button doesn't work properly too. The copy button as red-marked didn't get activated.

3. The transaction updates can be automated, why do I require to refresh them manually?

4. The fee we can pay is 0.25% to 4%, what extra benefit we do get when we pay the higher fee? It says it will increase privacy when we pay higher fees. There is no more elaboration on this. I think this should be added.

5. Requiring 2 confirmations for small txs is too much I think. I used 0.01+ BTC for test purposes and it can be confirmed with 1 confirmation. Maybe a feature like- 1 confirmation is okay up to x amount of BTC.

6. There's a limit of 10 addresses maximum in a single mixing. It can be increased.

Here's my feedback based on my experience with the Notes mode.

1. When I went to withdraw from notes, it says the address must be unique. What does that mean? I can withdraw at any address I think. It doesn't serve any purpose. What about forcing people to use a non-funded address? You must have to use an address that has never received any BTC.

2. When I tried to select a portion of the bitcoin for withdrawal, it didn't let me withdraw maximum  Cheesy Well, I mean an option like "Max" which would allow you to withdraw all, I have 1 sats left there  Grin lol. What I'm talking about is having a max button so the user can make the balance zero.

Some general issues which can be improved.
1. There's no maximum limit information I could find on the website.
2. Both Tor and Clearnet have the link to Tor web address while it should be Tor address on clearnet and clearnet address on Tor.

I use the Clearnet link with the opera browser with VPN, but after I shut down the VPN, the browser looks white and blank, maybe this change may not respond.

And, then be fixed back after restarting the browser.

1. The first time I look this site have 2 methods: Fast and Note, I was just curious about what the difference by try them one by one,
The different between both is just the first step. Where in the Note method we don't need btc address like Fast methode, but the important think is we must keep and write The Privaye Note so if where the function is the same as private key where when we lose and damage it then we lost the deposited fund so just be careful and keep it save on safe place.

2. In 2nd step, there is no difference between Fast And Note methods,

3. the important thing between Fast And Note,

In the Fast method, we don't need to go to the website again after mixing btc, just wait for it on the wallet. But, it's different when we use Note Methode because we have to withdraw it again on the website by following link: https://whirlwind.money/withdraw

I got an error while work on Note method, or is it bug?

I try to mix my BTC using the Fast method,

I have to suggest to the developer to make that box to be long because I can't see to full and double check my mixed address

And, so far after a second I sent from my electrum, I received transaction on web

I confirmed that received mixed btc

so far so good, and I like the timeliness and being on time as requested.

If you have not mined bitcoins, you have not used the service. All you did in your review is that you described the services as presented by the Mixer, and you did not actually try them.
There is no specific time for the end of the campaign, so you still have time to exchange some of your altcoins for bitcoins and try the service before publishing. I think it is permissible for you to modify your published post, and therefore you may not lose the effort you have made to write it. It's just that you were a little hasty. good luck

I would like to ask Hhampuz when the campaign ends and how many are expected to accept their reviews. I don't expect all applicants will be accepted even registered before 2023.
I also think that it is possible to know how much is the campaign budget pool or even publish the escrow address, since the participants will have to publish their addresses publicly, and therefore there is no point in hiding it. Thank You

After reading your reply, I tried to use the service and thought about re-editing my review. However, when I attempted to do so, I encountered an error message that said "Backend offline. Please try again later." Additionally, the captcha feature did not load. Could the original poster or anyone else provide guidance on what to do in this situation?
I am doing some adjustments on the ddos protection, I really want to get this right and not use cloudflare or any 3rd party. Everything will be back to normal in about an hour or so and it should be able to handle attacks better afterwards.

edit: service is back online, apologies for the inconvenience
