My Review about Whirlwind
Hi, Whirlwind is a Bitcoin mixer that offers you the chance to mix your Bitcoins using two simple and efficient methods: Fast and Note. With the Fast method, all you have to do is enter your receiving Bitcoin address and voila! Your Bitcoins will be mixed and sent to your designated address. Meanwhile, the Note method requires you to create and keep a private note, which acts as your private key. This step ensures that you don not lose access to your deposited funds, making it a more secure option.

Website Design

I am using Android Mobile and the website is user-friendly, with a simple layout that is easy to navigate. I found a minor glitch but after refresh its wirking fine. The dashboard's first page directly shows the deposit option making it easier for users to understand how it works. The mobile version is also efficient, with no glitches or heavy loading.

WirlWind Features

Whirlwind also provides a unique feature that allows you to add multiple receiving Bitcoin addresses and adjust the percentage value for each wallet. You can send 50% to the first address, 25% to the second and 25% to the third, making it easier to diversify your Bitcoin holdings. The service fee increases with every wallet you add, starting from 0.0001 BTC for one wallet to 0.0006 BTC for four wallets.

One unique thing about Whirlwind is its domain name. Unlike other mixers that have Mix in their name, Whirlwind stands out with its unique name. However, it would have been better if they included Mix in their domain name to reflect their purpose.

Suggestions

Fix website loading issue for better experience.
Solve automatic transaction refresh issue.
Provide 24/7 chat support for faster issue resolution.
Add Ethereum mixing option for more cryptocurrency choices.
Update non-functioning FAQ and other buttons for better user experience.

Whirlwind.money seems to be a reliable and user-friendly bitcoin mixing service that prioritizes user privacy and security. Its fast mixing times multiple mixing levels, and Note option make it an attractive choice for anyone looking to increase their anonymity while using bitcoin. if you value your financial privacy and want to protect your identity, Whirlwind is an excellent option for you. Their efficient mixing methods, user-friendly website, and unique features make it stand out in the Bitcoin mixer market

Cons
-  Doesn’t have no log policy
We do have a strict no logs policy, I'm just being transparent about the fact that I can't prove it to you and you need to take my word on it.

Suggestions/thoughts:

Change the refreshing screen as above to say "Refreshing, please wait" or something similar.
Very good suggestion. If the website doesen't load completely before the user performs any action it will throw errors, so a "loading" screen would probably solve most of the issues users are still encountering, besides making it less confusing.

I'm also working on some other changes, I'll provide the changelog and answer all remaining questions after the next update goes live.

I have reviewed many bitcoin wallets in the past, one of them, wasabi wallet had coinjoin feature but this will officially be my first bitcoin mixer review. A lot of good things has been said about the TOR version of whirlwind. I decided to use the clearnet version instead. There is a five second countdown delay when using the clear net version.

I chose to use the “Note” option because it promises superior privacy to the “fast” option. I was able to reduce the service fee to a minimum of 0.25%, next thing I did was to generate a private note and save it on my notepad.
After that, I was given a bitcoin address where I sent my deposit of 0.001btc. The clearnet needs some work, I encountered problems using the website. It took forever to refresh my transaction, the page just went blank. Eventually it came back up again.

It took only 2 confirmations and I was able to proceed to withdrawal.

To withdraw, I noticed that they require a “unique” bitcoin address, not sure what that means but it seems the mixer doesn’t allow the use of address with balance (hope you can clarify this).
I spilt the bitcoins across two addresses which means an extra 15,000 sats in fees. It was already midnight and I had the delay time set at 3 hours and 5 hours respectively so I knew the bitcoins won’t be in my wallet until morning. I clicked withdraw, after which I got a confirmation text on the page “withdrawal has been sent”.

I got up this morning, ready to complete the last part of my review. Went on to check my receiving addresses, but found there were no bitcoins. I went back to the mixer, and insert my private note but I got a response “this note is invalid or doesn’t have any balance” I did that a couple of times, still the same response. I contacted customer support about the issue and got a response in less than 20 minutes.

I tried again and this time it worked! I added my withdrawal addresses and set delay time to 3 hours and 2 hours respectively.

It took exactly that time to receive the bitcoins totaling 0.00079749btc

Pros
- Up to 10 withdrawal addresses
- Offers a letter of guarantee
- Offer lows minimum deposit of 0.001btc
- Uses “note” protocol to further anonymize transactions
- User can set time delays
- Only needs 2 confirmations
-Excellent Customer support

Cons
-  Doesn’t have no log policy

Edit:
I read this morning that the bugs in the clearnet version have been fixed last night. I’m impressed with how serious Whirlwind is taking the reviews and making improvements. As seen above, I have only one reservation of the mixer, which is the no log policy. Whirlwind has proposed a solution that’s involves selected members to be part of the multi sig in order to remove all doubt, but I don’t think there are reputable members who would want to take such risks considering the recent clampdown on a certain mixer. Whirlwind will have to come up with another solution.

I used the site exclusively via Tor, and after the 04.04.2023 changelog posted here.

I generated and saved a note, and then received the error "Backend offline. Please try again later." I reloaded the page and it progressed normally. I created a new note before proceeding.

Made the deposit transaction and waited for it confirm with the page open. The automatic update on the page was a bit slow, and lagged several minutes behind my node. Clicking the button to manually refresh was faster. However, all data (such as the address) disappears from the screen and the minimum deposit field changes to "NaN" for a good 30 seconds or so before it updates and everything comes back. To me, this looks like the website has crashed or my connection is down. It would be better to change it to say "Refreshing, please wait" or something similar.

Downloaded the guarantee letter, and confirmed the signature no problem. Confirmed the API address given matches the private key in the note.

I shut everything down and started again to make a second deposit. This time I closed the browser immediately after sending the transaction and came back much later. I combined the two notes I had generated with no issues, and received a new note, also with no issues.

At this point, I searched for a way to split my note without withdrawing, but I couldn't find one. It would be great if I could split my note up in to smaller notes. That way I can save them separately, or I could even peel off a note of say 0.01 BTC and give it to someone else to withdraw.

When withdrawing my note, I always seemed to be left with 1 satoshi regardless of number of addresses and the split between those addresses.

Again, downloaded the guarantee letter which confirmed no problem. The withdrawals also proceeded within the desired time without issue.

Suggestions/thoughts:

Change the refreshing screen as above to say "Refreshing, please wait" or something similar.

Personally, I'm not a fan of the percentage sliders. I would like to be able to specify an exact amount to go to one or more addresses, and "everything else" to go to another address.

Is it possible to split notes as well as combining them?

Are 2 confirmations necessary for small deposits?

On the withdrawal page, you need to make address field larger so I can see the entire address at once to make it easier to double check. Similarly, I want to see the whole address at the bottom, not just the first few and last few characters.

Minimum deposit: Is it possible to male this lower than 0.001 BTC? This would allow the user to send several small outputs to different addresses via notes and consolidate them in to one larger withdrawal. You could charge a fee from every small deposit to cover the increased fees associated with sweeping lots of small inputs.

I notice on the backend you are sweeping deposits relatively quickly with a much higher fee than necessary, and frequently as the only input in to the transaction. Would it not make more sense to sweep only a couple of times a day, and do so in a large consolidation transaction involving (for example) 100 deposits, and do so with a more appropriate fee? You would save a lot of money this way.

The user who complained did not mix as they said the service was unavailable at the time which is why $15 seemed fair, to me.
Shocked Then I'm underpaid  Cheesy
Well, I'm happy with what I have been paid. I would have used whirlwind for a single time for sure to check it out myself. So, this campaign was an advantage for me.

My Review on whirlwind.money.

The Website UI design was great, it was simple and easy to understand (user-friendly).
The pc version is great compared to the mobile version since it doesn't fit all of the information on the screen sometimes, probably depending on the user's smartphone size, etc.
It is very responsive on both pc and mobile use. I only do transactions on my pc but the mobile experience was great I can easily make a quick transaction with this especially when I'm not at home or just want to make a quick transaction.

There are times that I encounter these white blank pages that confuse me a lot when I'm opening the website if it's down or still working.
Even the refresh button cannot fix the website(multiple times ), I think it's a big issue since I can't use or load the website at all.

It doesn't seem to tell me when I didn't select any hours, Think a message pop-up without telling me what input I forget.

There are times when REFRESH TRANSACTION button doesn't seems to response numerous times i need to refresh that page to see the transaction.

Works completely fine(FAST), Completely received the 0.00085 with the default service fee of 1.5% plus the network fee of 0.0001, but it took around 2 hours before I received the payment in my wallet.

For beginners the process is very confusing I've used some mixers in the past and straight up deposit and sent to my address,
But the note is a little different I only find the answers here [ANN] Whirlwind.money | Bitcoin Mixer | Lowest Fees 0.25%-4% | Ultimate Privacy.
I think the best way to promote how to use this is by creating a youtube tutorial since it's easy to follow and explain in a video.
It would also be great if there are some sort of support portal that the user could easily message not just email on the bottom.

Meh.
Still, I believe any rank should be paid a Minimum $20 if they tried fast and Note both features since it will cost them a minimum of $10 as fees.

Depending on the turnout, previous reviewers may be revisited and awarded more but I do agree with you on the above. The user who complained did not mix as they said the service was unavailable at the time which is why $15 seemed fair, to me.

You're paying $15 for a campaign you advertised for $100. Any reason for that?

Let me answer you on Behalf of Hhampuz.

If you Look at the Requirement Section, It clearly says; You'll be awarded "up to" $100 based on the details, your standing here on bitcointalk and how extensively you've tried out either fast, note or both of the ways you can mix your coins at whirlwind. It says up to $100. So, It's not guaranteed that even the highest standing will help you get the highest reward.

They also mentioned that if you add images or even recordings to a text-based review, You increase your chances of higher payment. I don't see screenshots in your review post. Also, Your standing here on Bitcointalk is not too high. Just shared my thoughts.

Still, I believe any rank should be paid a Minimum $20 if they tried fast and Note both features since it will cost them a minimum of $10 as fees.

He didn't advertise that. You need to read carefully before applying to a campaign. You get paid up to $100. That doesn't mean every review is worth $100.

If someone writes a basic, trivial review, it doesn't make sense to reward this person the full amount. @Hhampuz is, of course, mainly looking for people to help improve the service and fix bugs. Not users who just echo obvious things.

Farewell, Leo
-Fees were reduced from 0.00015BTC/address to 0.0001BTC/address
Wouldn't it be better if users decide their fee rate? 10,000 sats for one transaction with just one output continues being astronomically expensive. Also: in a dynamical mempool, fee rate should not be constant.

- When combining notes, I once got a 500 status error from the API (server was probably down), and yet I got an "invalid note(s)" alert. This can be confusing to the user since he will think he messed up somewhere while the issue is on the server. Probably better to return 404 if the note doesn't exist and show the appropriate message.
-You can use Combine or Withdraw only after your deposit has confirmed, I will add this info to both pages so it's less confusing
I believe my deposit was already confirmed. Actually, if I recall correctly, that was after combining my two Notes into a new one C, so it should have worked (and it did work a second later, when I clicked the button again).

-I suppose you mean API Address? That is the Public key of your Note. For each Note you should have an API Address, and when you combine them you receive a LoG saying something along the lines of: You have credited the API address x on Mon Apr 03 2023 00:00:00 GMT+0000 (Coordinated Universal Time), using the following API addresses:  1 - y; 2 - z;
Yes, I meant API address. But let's say I had issues with my Note. How do I connect the Note's public key to the note itself and to the fact that it was supposed to have any balance (example)?

Trying out Note, saw the guarantee letter, and now I got the "API address". But still, it is unclear what it meant to be or what is the purpose of that since there isn't any information about it. In addition, I try to visit /verification/letter_signing_address/{the given API address}, but no luck.
It is on "the system's API", so: /api/verification/letter_signing_address/{the given API address}

As soon I opened the clearnet site, it stuck on the 5 sec waiting counter page. Upon opening up the onion link, I thought the site does not work since it got a blank page. Turns out, the site requires javascript to work and the "You need to enable JavaScript to run this app." has black text colour on a black dark background, can't see it on the first place.

Suggestion:
1. When the user did not enable JS, add information the site requires it, specifically on clearnet.
2. Change the text colour
3. Add onion-location

Though, after I recheck it, when I visit clearnet on disabled JS, the site sometimes shows either a blank white page or the 5 sec counter or the JS requirement display. I don't know if it client related problem.

Next playing around with the site. I can not manually(not using a slider) set the service fee and receiving address percentage using comma or period. BUT, on the Note deposit type, I can use period or comma, and even any characters.

On "Note", I did able to use a comma for the percentage, but it will return an error.

On the guarantee letter text.

-If user doesen't have JS enabled an error will be displayed

Code:

You need to enable JavaScript to run this app.
You need to enable JavaScript to run this app.

The black one isn't removed, so it shows double.

This is my first time using a mixer, I have never felt any need to use a mixer I'm the past. so I'll be sharing my review with your guys, actually it's more like my experience during the whole mixing Process.
I used an Android phone for the testing.

Design and UI:

• The color and web theme are fine; the color is pleasant to the eyes, and because it is not a bright theme, it will have less of an impact on the eyes.
• There appears to be a mismatch between the width of the "div" in the header and footer and the width of the entire page.

If you look closely at the image above, you'll notice that the text is outside of the header and footer.

Mixing Process (My experience):
FAST:
• After entering my receiving address, I selected 1% + 0.0001 transaction fee and 1 hour delay. • I had some difficulty completing the captcha because it took some time for the captcha to refresh and a new one to appear. Later on, I got it right.
• I downloaded the letter of guarantee before depositing the Bitcoin to be mixed; I deposited exactly 0.002 Bitcoin, and it took a few minutes to receive two confirmations.
• I set my stopwatch to see how long it would take to get my coin back.
• I received my coin after 1 hour and 13 minutes, which was fantastic for me.

NOTE:
• The same fee settings as the first (1%)
• As per the mixer's warning, I saved my private key (Note).
• Completed the captcha, which was not as difficult as the first time.
• Downloaded the guarantee letter and deposited the balance from testing the "fast" section (0.00183 Bitcoin); it took some time to get the required two confirmations.
• I went straight to "withdraw note" and entered my note; initially, it prompted an empty balance notification, but when I tried again, it opened with a balance of 0.00181692BTC and I received 0.00164876 BTC after the fee was deducted.

Suggestions:
I'm sorry, but I don't have many suggestions because this is my first mixer experience; however, the three suggestions below could be taken into consideration for the time being.

• As previously stated, the Header and Footer should be worked on.
• If it does not pose a security risk to the site, I recommend that you add an audio option for the captcha because it was difficult to see (as per my experience).
• I used the clear net for testing and had a lot of disconnections; sometimes when I refresh the page, it just shows me a blank page and then returns to normal.

My overall experience was excellent, particularly the "note" mixer and the fact that I can withdraw at any time.

If there's something to be written...

My mixing experience at Whirlwind

I decided to use the fast deposit system to check out the platform.

So following the steps, I selected the Fast Deposit type in step 01, entered my receiver address, set the time to 1 hour, and left the service fee at 1.5% at step 3. I completed the captcha in step 4 and clicked the Go button. I got the response, "Whirlwind. Money says, An error occurred."

I changed the deposit type to note, and the process added another step: "Generate and save a private note." I clicked on the generate" button and copied the private note. I tried using the copy icon to copy to the clipboard, but it wasn't working, so I manually copied and pasted in a safe place. I completed the captcha, clicked on the Go button, and got the same error message.

I decided to refresh the page and use a bech32 BTC address as the receiver address in case that's the reason for the error.

Using the fast deposit and a bech32, I set the time to 1 hour, increased the network fee to 2.27% at step 3, completed the captcha at step 4, clicked on the go button, and the same error message appeared.

Well, that's it for me.
Whirlwind still didn't mix my coins.
