bitcoin is desntralisasi, where the user has the most influence on the rise or fall in prices. if you buy a lot then the price goes up, if you sell a lot then the price drops. and here whales has the biggest role in controlling the market, because they have a large amount that can be sold at any time and have a lot of money to buy anytime.
The cryptocurrency market is always for smart investors once you are smart and calculative you will make it in any market either in the bull run period or the bear market because you will always make intelligent decision and take calculated moves which will always result in profits making. But the big players always are at benefit because they can manipulate the market at any time.
All markets only benefit smart investors, there are many people investing in the markets and they do not know anything about them and as you may guess such people lose everything if they try to become investors themselves since I have seen those so called investors dedicate more time to watch their favourite sport or to decide what movie they want to watch than the attention they give to the markets and they suffer the consequences of such a terrible attitude sooner rather than later. 
There is no way to know who controls the market, I believe that the level we are today would have to be a joint action in order to have some influence on the flow of btc.
the market is controlled I don't think it's possible because the development of crypto currencies depends on the investors themselves, so in my opinion the development of crypto currencies depends on the investors themselves 
all people with basic knowledge in computer science can benefit, but maybe one day governments encourage the use of tokens for instant micropayments around the world!

wrong . the amount that you can earn will only depend on how wise you are . you can earn profit that is equal to your capital or earn more than that . worst , you can loose it all .

benefactors or beneficiaries are both the controlers/manipulators and the users/investors/traders bounty hunters . and yeah you are correct decentralized means independent or uncontrollable but it can be manipulated by the whales and other big bankers . they are powerful and they can swing the price verry easy before others can do it .

Whales are most likely to be the direct benefactors of the uptrend and downtrend in the market because they are the one who controls the market flow. I was once a lucky individual with cryptocurrency because way back 2017 market situation is good and green where I invested my time and effort on bounties that results in decent and good outcome due to successful ICO's .

Decentralization and anonymity criptocurrency are an advantage in corruption schemes.
Thus we take advantages on these until such the time that we are urge to pay taxes by then. Actually, we are moving into legalization and may taxes will imposed once done. When crypto exist nobody's expect what it can change the world and almost all of us were in doubts, but for now we realize that it place a big role in the community as we are in computer era, making our life easier that of before. Definitely a makes a huge change in our lifestyle. It may be a way to earn money but I don't think it is a job.
It is true that a lot of people are earning their own profit or money by investing in cryptocurrency and they are obviously being benefitted by the volatility as we all know the price gets at time and when the price is high enough, they will be selling it harvesting that profit and invest again depending on that person. But I don't we can say that someone changed his or her "economic standpoint" since most of us investors thought that the price might get higher in the future so instead of selling, we continued investing and the price dump came.

I don't think it is profited in cryptocurrency right now because most investors did right now is to buy and to hold, so I think it is not that profited at the moment. No single individual control the market or benefit from the bearing market because before one will make any profit you must have invested when the crypto currency value was lower than what it is now. In summary, I don't really think any is benefiting seriously at this current bearish market.Some people have very weird understanding of crypto generally. Like with any other innovation the ones who get in first, endure trough hard times are the ones who benefit the most, cause they believed even when everything was black. And with bitcoin we had some dark days, but it was never black. Compare this crypto innovation with any from the long history, you will see that most of them needed time to adopt and for people to accept it. Cars, computers, internet, mobile phones, credit cards...it`s a long list. Bottom line, the ones who believe they benefit in the end.
