I could not be so optimistic about the potential of ethereum in 2018, since the entire market seems to be at risk of slowing down in the face of the disenchantment of many investors because of the uncertainty surrounding the alleged speculative bubble that seems to be reaching a critical stage. But in addition, ethereum is facing strong competition from altcoins such as Neo and Cardano that already make ethereum look like an outdated technology.

I think 4k will be low by the end of the next year. If the ethereum developers can deliver on a good scaling solution it will blow up immensily in price and adoption.
Honestly, I believe that Ethereum cannot will be $ 4000 in 2018 , and in this period the price of this currency is volatility and also there is a small progress in value of Market cap and the price too especially in the last days. Furthermore, I guess that in the half of this year there will be a little development in the price ( May will become $2000). Also many users of cryptocurrencies resort to invest and purchase in other Altcoins like : Bitcoin , Ripple, Litecoin, Bitcoin cash and also the new successful currencies.
In fact, I do not expect there will be a big rise in ETH but there may will be a nice surprise in the future to users of this currency.

I invested in ethereum, but I do not believe that the price of ethereum will reach $ 4000 in 2018, because the price increase is very far but if ethereum $ 1000- $ 1500 in 2018 I still believe ethereum can penetrate the price

I think $4000 is a very real price to achieve - it's only x5 from the current price. I guess ETH could raise even 5-10k until the end of 2018.

Yes, IMHO, everything is possible in cryptoworld now, it`s young market. I think ETH will hit 1000$ by Febuary and then to the moon!
IMO, ETH price will surely rise in 2018. $4000 is quite ambitious, my opinion will be $2000 to $2500. Then again, anything is possible in crypto, let’s hope for the best.
I sure hope so, because I have invested in Ethereum, but I don't believe that will go to 4000$ in 2018. Let's not forget what the rice of Ethereum was on 01.01.2017 
I do believe that it can reach $4000 but not by 2018, based on the pacing of growth of the ethereum it is too early for this year for it to reach that value though it is not impossible but for me it has a very low chance to happen what I expected for ethereum to reach would be a value of $2000 more or less.
I believe on it a long time ago,but it seems it will be just dream for now because eth cant even get to $1k.

I don't believe. It is going to rise but not as much as you said. I think it will be lower than $2500 at the end of 2018, but who knows? I would be so satisfied if Ethereum has been $4000 worth.
