A combined force of China and Russia will turn out to be much more powerful than the Americans, because it represents a deadly combination of technology and manpower. Right now Russia is having the best defense technology in the world. On the other hand, China is having the largest population for any country in the globe.

Unfortunately there will be no winners. If the third world war begins, the scenario will be quite normal for the war, but as soon as one of the sides begins to lose, it will launch nuclear weapons, which will lead to the destruction of the human race. Of course some of people survive, maybe even over time, the surviving organisms mutate and will be able to transfer radiation.

The economy of the EU and the US is much stronger than that of China, and even more so of Russia. The NATO army is more professional than the armed forces of Russia. Therefore, despite the quantitative superiority of the Chinese, I think that NATO will win.

Such a war is not possible. They are not stupid to start a war that wont be a winner at the end.
They know that in such a case they will all loose most of their army power. And after nuclear bombs probably they will not be recovered for so long.

I think, russia and china are the ones who will win it. Russia has the strongest defense in the world, while China has the largest nuclear bomb in the world when compared with US & NATO is nothing.

Always it is the innocent people who suffer the most during the wars. WW1 and WW2 were no exception. WW2 was unique, because we saw large scale extermination campaigns being waged against certain ethnic groups, such as the Slavs, Roma and the Jews. I guess in WW3 also, there will be similar genocidal campaigns directed against certain ethnic or religious groups.
