I think it is because bitcoin is going down. I don't really know why is so but what i have observed from cmc is that anytime bitcoin goes down almost all of the altcoins go down. They are somewhat controlled by the supremacy of bitcoin.
altcoin depends on the bitcoin value even though it is part of cryptocurrency but bitcoin is the dominant cryptocurrency with high value. So, while bitcoins are falling in value, other coins are sure to go down. That is unavoidable, inevitably traders should be able to accept.
In my opinion, it depends on bitcoin and ethereum. When they fall, many coins go down.
Maybe because alot of altcoins only trade with bitcoin and ethereum, and because these two coins are dropping the value of the other alts also goes down too.
I believe that because of the rise in price at the end of last year is now a correction of prices. because the price is too high.
I think altcoins are dropping because of bitcoins price now. Bitcoins value falls to 6000 for some reasons. Altcoins depends on bitcoin through price exchange. I heard twitter has started banning cryptos.
There are several reasons why all the coins' price is dropping and getting a lower value but I think the most significant event for the dropping of the value of all the coins is when some of the countries banned cryptocurrencies such as korea and china. These two countries are one of the biggest supporter of cryptocurrencies and when they tend to banned cryptos it makes all the coins falls down...
any body know the reason for current drop?
I think that nobody can know for sure that reason for every particular fall, the only thing that we can know sure that most likely after the Fall will come Winter and then Spring, if you know what I mean of course 
If you still do not understand why today bears are working in the market, then everything is very simple, the market is very weak and it is very manipulated. Look at such topics from traders, many people say about it. But just as many traders say that this should soon end.
Often we are having a fall before overall growth so every falling process is giving us the hope of that we will go up significantly after this, I wish that bitcoin will go up to $20,000 as it was in previous year. And then we could explain this fall that we had recently.

for me all coins are dropping because the main coin(bitcoin) also decrease. bitcoin is the brain of all coins if this coin drop all coin will also drop but when it increase the other coins will increase also.
Becuse the price of bitcoin is dropping and people became panic, so they will sell what they have. Altcoins are only depend in the price of the bitcoin so when bitcoin goes down the altcoins too and when it rising up then it is too.
Alt coins price drop because it is affected by Bitcoins price which was dropping too. And current market condition is bearish probably this are the main reason why almost all alt coins are dropping but trading is a cycle if there is bearish season there is a bull run too just be patience.

Ithink for my own opinion why some altcoin token are dropping because of dumper and of course at bitcoin and ethereum price are same dropping now i dont so why bitcoin and ethereum now are very decreasing the price and now because of this alert decreasing price of thereum and bitcoin some investors are not grab bitcoin and ethereum because of this situation of decreasing of price
Probably because the price of bitcoin and etherum is decreasing, so people are selling their alcotnum to switch to bitcoin or ether, and therefore the prices for altcoyin are declining, because China and South Korea want to regulate the cryptomarket. This frightens off many investors, and the price goes down

Bitcoin is dropping, so most of the Altcoins are dropping as well. Maybe it is all made artificially in purpose to attract investors.
