Banks does not want crypto because they will loss clients if people will be more educated about crypto as 3rd party will no longer needed.
We are in the early stage, big challenges ahead but I believe crypto will have a good place in the future and adoption will grow.

Point 1. Bitcoin was the first Cryptocurrency out there - it's primary reason is/was clear
Point 2. All other coins / cryptocurrencies came after, each with it's own purpose (and let's be honest here, 90% of them are shit / scam)
Point 3. You can not compare Bitcoin to any other coin, if you don't specify the "BETTER HOW?". Better in name? Better in total coins? Better in how old it is?

If you're looking to day-trade, you may want to prefer Bitcoin.

If you're looking to gamble, you may prefer Altcoins

If you're looking to HODL, you may want both.

Long as you know what you're doing and what your goal is, there is a "better and worse" option out there for you.

Would love to hear what you guys think, am I mistaken in my logic here?

In my opinion, Altcoins are not better than Bitcoin. Bitcoin was first cryptocurrency that was created and still it is successful. New Altcoins are launched every day and very often they disappear without a shadow.

Although ethereum has a very good potentials and also the best altcoin. It has promising potentials and good for hold on long term, it also has a large community and good blockchain that even icos adopt it for their transaction but I do not think it can replace bitcoin because bitcoin has more potentials than it and it is the oldest of all crypto.

There is only one thing in which Altcoins are better than Bitcoin is that the price of Bitcoin is very high , so everyone can't afford to invest in that. On the other hand , altcoins price are very very less which everyone can afford. These altcoins also gives you good returns.

If we are talking about investing in cryptocurrencies, then from my point of view, altcoins look more attractive, because their price is lower and they can multiple their value for several times. But bitcoin is more reliable investment than altcoins.

I think that Bitcoin is still the most popular coin and it is still the leader on the cryptomarket. Moreover, the price of altcoins depend on bitcoin price. So I don’t think that there is a better altcoin that bitcoin.
