As far as I know altcoins are called hidden gyms. Because altcoins have seasons. Where each coin hits its maximum value. Moreover, each altcoin tries to survive in the market through a specific feature . Investing in altcoins should be done with a lot of research and market analysis . If you invest in altcoins in a smart way, you can earn good money.
There is no doubt that the most appropriate long-term investment for altcoins is ethereum. me too. Even though it has several other altcoins, ethereum is still a priority compared to it. I usually sell other altcoins during bullruns so they are not long-term investments.
I also thought of that because Ethereum has been in the system for a long time now and it is the second to bitcoin in term of Price and value. So if anyone is investing in Ethereum at least the person will have that confidence that he would not lose instead he will make profit from the investment. And not all the altcoins are good to invest in even though they are top 10 in the list. One thing we have to know is that time of the bear and the bull market of the coin is paramount. And not all coins are good for long term, some are good for short term but if it is for long term and you wnt to make a huge profit from altcoins then Ethereum is the best to recommend.
We work and invest in crypto because of profit so simply speaking crypto is more important to us to make money. Also most investments will be profitable for you if you can buy good currencies before the bull market comes. So you don't need crypto market without altcoins so invest and profit. Alt coins are the alternative coins of Bitcoin. Bitcoin is the first cryptocurrency of the world. All the other alt coins are developed after bitcoin, that why we are calling it as a altcoins. The best thing that happened to the crypto market space is the introduction of Altcoins every single day.
The real thing in bitcoin from 100% of people 70/80% of people already know bitcoin and they have tried and felt the benefits.without forgetting that bitcoin is still much loved by people even though alcoin comes with its advantages, some people still survive in bitcoin.

Most of us probably do the same thing as you. That is, altcoins that have been collected since the bear market will be sold in the bull run market. But personally, I will even sell ETH on the Bullrun market later. although it is only ETH that is the most trustworthy among all altcoins in the long term. But still I can only hold it for the medium term. Because my long-term investment in crypto is only bitcoin. Meanwhile, I think altcoins are only suitable for the short and medium term. But if you are strong enough to hold ETH in the long term then maybe you can get maximum profits. As long as you remain strong even though the bearish market will come again after the bull run market. I don't really like altcoins, especially new coins, meme classes, or hype coins. However, many argue for Altcoins, especially the newer projects, that they can experience rapid price growth, providing the potential opportunity for significant investment ROI and I'm also surprised it has always been able to attract so much interest from both investors and developers.
because usually the new coin for its development and growth is good and fast because if I think it will attract a lot of people to invest.Therefore, most people do not doubt new coins such as meme coins and others.

We know altcoin investment returns are high. Where the profit is high, the risk is also high, but you have to accept everything and proceed with the investment. But if I say from my side I will say I don't invest in all altcoins. Those altcoins which have good exchange and are not in top position I never think to trade with all these altcoins. But I always believe more in the Ethereum market and I definitely buy this Ethereum to hold. Also I don't consider any coin to hold long term but focus on some market trending coins to trade. I think you should be more specific with the kind of Altcoins you're referring to, not all altcoins are best when it comes to buy and hold, I can only trust some few altcoins in terms of buy and hold but if you're referring to newly projects then it's very hard to give garanteee if that coin will bring profit in long term. The strategy you mentioned is also good but still depends on the coin, an investor will sell whenever the price has reached an ATH, this is the best decision especially when dealing with altcoins to prevent risk, there's no guarantee that the coin will reach another ATH so why not sell to gain from the market. Altcoins investment needs a smart investor to play along with the market.
Don't be too surprised that despite the many risks that are in altcoins, investors still flood it, and the reason is not far fetched, it's because they want to make many times their ROI on the very shortest time, in the end It'll mean them gambling their capital to either buy legit or scam altcoins. The OP method makes sense, if you decide to go ahead and buy, go in quick and invest, have your target to sale in the peak of price pump, when it reaches your target price, don't be greedy and sale, cash out ASAP, because delay can be dangerous, the more you wait, it can start crumbling down and eventually worth nothing.
Many Investors are greedy, before investing into an altcoin they would have had a target of taking profits when they have made 50% of their investment but as the market continue rising, they'll forget the target they set when they wanted to invest into the altcoin and begins to aim for a bigger percentage. As they're holding, the market will crash and they'll lose. Many investors don't know the difference between bull and bear market, they think the market will continue rising forever.
Altcoins are important to the cryptocurrency market as they give investment variety with difference options of investing into the market. Some investors don't want to invest too much money into Bitcoin as they believe they're already late therefore they're looking for new projects that they can be among the first set of Investors so they can make big profits wehn the project becomes popular and listing to top exchanges.

I realized that crypto is also becoming more widely known and more widely adopted after the existence of altcoins. Buying the dip is not all about trading because the way you sound, is like selling your altcoin to buy bitcoin and sell to make profit when Bitcoin is on bullrun. Well. From my personal point of view, alternative coins are important because serious projects are the pathway to get more technological innovation when comes to cryptocurrency and ways to transmit value in a decentralized and secure way, regardless where one lives. Actually, many of the things we take for granted today were ideas which started as relatively small alternative coins projects, Litecoin wanted transactions to be faster, Monero wanted transactions to also be private, Ethereum sought for more functionalities to the Blockchain technology, and so on.
If we did not give the importance and attention those legitimate projects need, we would be still living in a market mostly made of Proof of Work coins which may be too similar to each other, and there would be more competition for hashrste in different blockchains, the less concentrated the hashrate would be, the less safe all the ecosystem would be as well, as a consequence of that hypothetical scenario.
Thanks to the existence of alternative currencies, I can expect some nice projects to come in the future, something quantum proof, fast, anynomus and with much use case.
