Cryptocurrency can make One a millionaire and it can make one a poor man.people are afraid of investing in cryptocurrency because of the volatility nature of cryptocurrency nature coupled with the recent hacks witnessed on some exchange.people are afraid to invest in cryptocurrency because strict regulations have not been fully implemented on cryotocurrency. People are afraid of investing in cryotocurrency because of the anonymous Factor attached to it and that why institutional buyers have not step in into cryptocurrency.
Some times I usually think of the reason people are afraid of investing in cryptocurrency, despite the its value and durability, cryptocurrency is a standards investment that will always give the investor the chance of becoming a millionaire due to its appreciative nature, people fail to understand the fact behind cryptocurrency investment, most times the people trying to invest may not have a maximum knowledge of cryptocurrency.
We are all afraid to experience new things to come into new worlds that is why we cannot balma ethem if they cannot invest yet or even they cannot at all. There are people who are scared but have the guts to invest but there will always be people that cannot. So if you encourage them then it is great but don't force them to because they might blame you in their lost. They are just not realdy yet in the cryptocurrency and they are lacking of knowledge yet maybe if the cryptocurrency becomes famous then they will give it a try.
One the major factors affecting investment in cryptocurrencies is VOLATILITY in value. The price fluctuation is a serious issue in cryptocurrency. For example, the price of Bitcoin fell from $20000 sometime in 2017 to about $6040 as at 22nd June, 2018. Though, the cryptocurrency, Tether , strives to maintain its value as the currency is designed. Tether is not designed to increase or decrease in value like Bitcoin, this makes the cryptocurrency coin not viable for investment gains. High fluctuation in value is a big factor. Another important factor affecting investment in cryptocurrency is Government of some countries. Some Government policies are not quite favourable for cryptocurrency growth. These policies does affect investment opportunities available in cryptocurrency. Another factor is the computer skill requirements. Some people are not computer skilled for them to invest in cryptocurrency. They will prefer to handle the finance transaction themselves, but since they do not posses such knowledge themselves, They may prefer no to invest at all.

we must know that bitcoin has a fluctuating price, sometimes it rises very high and sometimes it drops very low, it is normal and has become characteristic of the crypto currency, and many people are not prepared for that risk so they are afraid to invest
Because they have seen how the price could fall and they don't want to get involve in it or risk their money.
People would feel that when they put their money in it the price could fall down and that is what they are afraid of .
Yes, there are a lot of people who are afraid of electronic money, though they are keen to invest in them, but fear that they will lose money when the price fluctuates and they are afraid of the hackers stalking their accounts. Most people find investing either too complex and are afraid to take the first step in their cryptocurrency
Perhaps they have not fully understood the way the Crypto market works, and they only hear crypto codes, but they have not experienced it. they fear losing capital. 
My opinion is that people are afraid because first of all it is a high risk investment because of the volatility of the market. Besides that there are some thresholds like:
- The high level of tech which is hard to comprehend for some people.
- The trouble it costs to invest in crypto/the low liquidity. Create your own wallet, buying at exchanges or websites, send through to other exchanges etc. etc.
- Crypto doesn't feel safe enough yet. This might also be because of the lack of knowledge or well known addressess offering these investments yet.
Just my 2 cents...
It is the fear of first attempt without any experience and lack of knowledge, this result in fear and people are afraid in their first attempt. They should make their knowledge perfect so as to handle everything in the market of cryptocurrencies. We have examples in front as many ordinary people after crypto world are now millionaire and billionaire and this is due to their best handling. - The high level of tech which is hard to comprehend for some people.

- Crypto doesn't feel safe enough yet. This might also be because of the lack of knowledge or well known addressess offering these investments yet.
Just my 2 cents...
I think it maybe has something to with its great instability and the market is influenced by many factors which is not that easy to master the trends and determine when to buy and sell. And the other factor is security related, as you can see a lot of money has been stolen or lost as a result of the improper handling of the private keys. As cryptocurrency to a large extent is still relatively new to a large number of people, they may don't know how to keep their assets in a secure way! And the other thing is it is a 24-hour trading market with no limited to ups and downs, so people may end up losing all their money waking up in the morning!

a lot of people are afraid to invest and buy bitcoin or other cryptocurrency because they do not have expertise yet and have no information how to be able to benefit from cryptocurrency.
Because they are too risky, they can lose money at any time, many people have lost money because of wrong market trends and they bought coins at high prices, but then the coin dropped severely. .

yes that is the point that people doesn't want to invest their money in any crypto but some people are not know about this currency and think that it is a scam and our money will totally lose, so that's why they are freeze in one motion but it is very important that we should give them complete advice to invest their money in this digital way because that's why they get best profit in future and digital currency will more improve and valuable. People would feel that when they put their money in it the price could fall down and that is what they are afraid of .

Well, that's easily understandable, I think. It's really risky and also good knowledge of technologies and computer are needed as well.
People fear to invest in crypto due to some factors that if eliminated, will enable them to invest in crypto. They are risk which makes them doubt about the future of their investment. Incomplete knowledge about the technology which is again a dangerous thing. Rumors by those who loose in crypto and never appear calling the technology a scam. If things like these are finished, we will see the demand will rise enormously. 
in my opinion people are afraid of things they don't understand .if we can help people to know the real value of it they will easily understand it and happily invest on it.just by letting them know and by building a strong relationship with them that will help them to invest on it and give other people courage to invest.
people are afraid to invest in the crypto currency, because they do not study the full information about the crypto currency, but pay attention only to negative news. only Provide feedback from users who invested their funds at the end of 2017.
in my opinion people are afraid of things they don't understand .if we can help people to know the real value of it they will easily understand it and happily invest on it.just by letting them know and by building a strong relationship with them that will help them to invest on it and give other people courage to invest.
there are several factors why it happened so, maybe there is a thought that it is only a fantasy because it has not understood, no intention, maybe also infrastructure that is less supportive.
The reason people why people are afraid to invest in cryptocurrency, because the price is not steady or the price is moving everytime. So they think twice to enter to invest, they afraid that their money will not back or will not earn a profit. It only means that they don't trust enough on cryptocurrency, but even if others will not, there are some people also interested or take a risk to invest.
