That is a great observation raised by tk808, which I feel so many folks are yet to truly know why they are involved or should be involved, because there is misplacement of priority.
I was opportune to witness and be part of an AMA organized by a particular project sometimes ago, which gave me more reasons why I should be involved in crypto, no matter how busy I am with my job. In essence, it was an eye opener.

The technology is a revolution that will make outstanding records and breakthrough in so many works of life, which the entire human race will benefit from.

It might take some time more, but it will definitely come to pass.

Since the bitcoin boom in 2017, many companies and individuals have begun developing their own projects through ICO funding or taking part in them ... and the beginning of my involvement in the cryptoqurrency world because I saw that Blokchain technology is very unique and until now I am still very curious about this cryptoqurrency industry. whether cryptoqurrency will become a transaction tool such as paper currencies in the future or who actually is behind the creator of this bitcoin.

Aside from income opportunity, I like crypto because it is an innovation that changed the way we transact with other people and a place where we can be involved in projects that aims to provide services and convenience to the mass, and also to educate my self more about technology and finance. Crypto currency had been brought a lot of changes in my life, I learned a lot of stuff, I became wiser in regards to financial matters and learned more about blockchain and technology and other opportunities that I can grab online part from my full time job.

Knowing that I have some background in computer science and a little bit about cryptography, I was mainly interested in the tech and not actually the profit that accompanies it, though it has also become my main point of interest after such time that it has net me good gains in a short span of time. I’m mainly staying currently for the tech and less of the profits now knowing that I have set up a good stash and a business due to bitcoin gains.

First, i believe that blockchain technology and cryptocurrency have prospects, which will be very useful in future and some at the moment have started using it. So before there is a widespread of knowledge and the usage by the entire  world, just like internet is today, I find it a great privilege to be among those that are presently gathering knowledge on it, so that by the time it achieves that full mass adoption, I would have known so much that I can teach others, apply the knowledge and be able to perform any operation that will be of help to anyone.

Aside from monetary incentives, I was hired to promote a project back then and then started to learn how interesting it is that money can be sent without intermediaries. Finally something has come up and I look cool to be involve in a community that actually are advance than the regular people who just kept using paypal. Which I got scammed by a webmaster who filed a dispute so if I was just accepting BTC or crypto, it wouldn't happen.

Aside from monetary incentives in crypto, I rarely come across discussions pertaining to why the average enthusiast in crypto is involved with crypto. While the answer may be pretty straightforward, there are some outliers.

Crypto means much more than just monetary incentives, it's essentially a technical revolution that has involved the masses, something you and I can be apart of. Ultimately, that's probably one of my greatest interests for blockchain and crypto. Another big intrigue for me is the evolution of blockchain tech in itself. I've been around for quite sometime and have witnessed the evolution of cryptos, businesses, behaviors and attitudes.

These 2 factors, along with several others, are the reasons I continue to be involved on a community and business level with crypto. It's become a hobby, passion and business for me.

yes you're right, the main reason is the development of technology and people who want to get profit. crypto has changed the way people have been, and I think it's good.
in the past they might have been a bit unfamiliar with decentralization, but now many people were demanding that all platforms be decentralized and transparent. this proves crypto has changed humans.

Some years back when a mentor introduced me to crypto, it all sounded like a joke but I still put in interest. After learning about the decentralized nature of crypto and the underlying technology (blockchain), my interest soared higher and I wanted to know more. Then I started with faucets , trying to generate some free coins. Principally I'm involved in crypto because I truly believe it's the future of transactions and it's going to ameliorate the finance sector. More to that, I believe my holdings will worth it some day looking at the investment aspect.

Mobile banking or online banking sucks sometimes, maintenance, late transactions and interrupted transactions. And crypto comes to provide better transaction opportunities easily and faster, the convenient it gives as medium of having transactions just seconds or minutes than bank that takes sometimes days. Other than as form of investment that can increase in value in sometime, and in trading these feature and different blockchain ideas makes me use crypto more.

Each and everyone want to move from one level to another. For the same everyone will be looking for some opportunities, this way people easily get interested towards cryptocurrencies. The spreading happened through word of mouth is the root cause for such a wide spreading. To the spreading the growth too happened big which made it to be more popular.

Earlier this was much criticised as well as badged with negativity as it is used much on illegal activities and on darkweb. Slowly the progress made it get priority as an investment rather than a asset that has value. The decentralization, large volume transaction support, and more features served to be a big thing. Though this is much helpful for rich people, the agony to make myself rich keeps me drive forward with hope.

Haha true, not enough non-money based convos here Smiley (i hope this becomes a high quality megathread)

Mostly the same for me, hobby passion, business. tho it grew into a business #1 over the years in my situation, whereas it STARTED as a hobby/interest
I got hit like a truck by BTC, the day i realized this was the first disruptive tech developed since maybe the internet itself  Shocked
It was sad to watch some nations embrace the tech (Japan), while others got super scared of it (india).  its coming around now everywhere mostly tho

I live in the middle of nowhere in far North Canada, theres no opportunity up here but meager labor jobs, Blockchain (thru mining for me personally), became a career
funny how it works out, my great grandaddy was a miner, tho he carried a literal pickaxe, i like to think im the same, just in a digital age Tongue

This tech is/will continue to change the world, and ill be here to help process transactions to help (and make a living for my family) all the way Smiley

Back then I did not have PayPal, I tried to find an alternative for me to make a payment for my laptop thus lead me to know about Bitcoin. The technology that allows me to send money from one country to another in a matter of minutes piques my interest, even though I ended up creating PayPal to pay my laptop. It did not change the fact that it was my first start in cryptocurrency, day by day I kept doing research and it became my hobby after I found an interesting altcoin around Bitcoin.

from friends, friends to friends and finally to my ears. from there I became interested in the cryptoqurrency industry including blokchain technology which in my opinion is an extraordinary innovation in digital history. I want to see the future of cryptoqurrency (if my life is still long)

I haven't been here long, but I am increasingly ferocious to know more about this industry and not only because of money but because I want to know about the anonymity of blockchain technology, sophistication, and function in all aspects resulting from this technology.

initially i heard about bitcoin that was a global (boarder less) currency that nobody could ban. so obviously i started looking more into it and got more and more interested in it as i learned more and saw what it offers. to this day that has not changed in me, only the monetary incentive was added to the list of reasons as the price kept going up every year!

initially i got into altcoins because i was curious to know the "alternative" cryptocurrencies and see how they work. i saw some interesting stuff but kept getting disappointed the more i studied different altcoins. so the initial reason is no gone and only the monetary incentive remains.
although i have to say that i still check a lot of altcoin projects and hope to some day see a real good one out there that is not just for pump and dumping.

I believe in crypto currencies and the idea of a decentralised world attracted my attention in 2017. Especially, the finance industry needs a fresh breath and in my opinion blockchain and some crypto currencies can refresh the general finance industry.
