Shitcoin has been trend in cryptocurrency now, I don't like shitcoins because they always give me loss and Crypto has been a joke due to these shitcoins.
Your Question is Why are we still holding shitcoins. What can we do except hodl because the gas fee is higher than token price so if we swap them then we will get loss.
The main problem is that sometimes when we convert shitcoin, we actually lose money, because the high fee is not comparable to the price of the shitcoin, so this can only be a collection, and who knows later there will be luck for the pump, and at that time the shitcoin will become a little more useful

Logically, all of our Ethereum wallets must have tokens that have no value or no price in the market, or there is a price that just doesn't match our expectations, or a very weak value, and we think that tokens that are not valuable at the moment are likely to exist in the future at least enough for us to exchange for Ethereum gas

Still holding them because they left holders without a choice but to hold. To get rid of them you have to create a new Eth wallet and forget them forever. They now serve as souvenirs in my wallet aka wortless collectibles. Most of it were my bounty rewards way back 2017-2018 now considered spams.

I keep those shitcoin in my wallet in the hope that in a future life they will value something. It's not profitable to sell $ 5, that's if you can sell them if they were listed on the exchange. I'd rather keep them in my wallet until they value something. If this is not the case, that's it, I will consider it a collection of buttons.

There are some tokens in my ethereum wallet that have lost value to the extent I don't think they can ever recover even if the bull market starts tomorrow due to the level of competition in the altcoin market. I also bought some coins but can't remember the password or name of exchange i bought them on (thinking it was cryptopia) I didn't bother transferring it off the exchange and most of them were bought around 1satoshi.

Back to my ethereum wallet, each time I see those worthless token I just laugh and continue with what I login my wallet to do. If you ask me why I'm still holding does tokens in my wallet I can't give a reply. Why are you still holding those shitcoins sorry altcoin

I also have lot of shitcoins in my wallet. I can't even trade it due to it has no value, no exchanger to be used and worst not worth it to sold due to fee is higher than its value. I got those from unworthy bounty campaigns and airdrops as well. I think even after so many years it will be the same. Most of it are in my ethereum wallet also, while some were lose in hitbtc, mercatox, cryptopia.

I can only say one thing. No one is sure of what will happen next week or next month in this space. so many dead coins has came back to life and made holders millionaires. all i can say is to hold but there is a problem. most of these projects conducted a swap process especially those that conducted bounties. leaving little investors at the mercy of not getting their token back.

well, to be honest, I saved some of that in 2018 to 2021, and my wish came true. some of the coins I held were worth selling. Well, of course, I took the opportunity. After all, the people holding shitcoin must have the same goal. other than that, it's not that much of a bother.

Many like me have added religion to our crypto journey, we are still holding our shitcoins because we have faith that one day it will no longer be shitty or will be less shitty.

I also have alot of different shitcoin that has value about $5-$10, actually i want to sell it all them but the problem is the high transaction fee of ERC20 token that need alot of amount Ethereum to send it, So i will sell those token if the price rise and the value above $50. Nearly everymonth i checked the value of the each token, so if the value rising i will sell it immediately and buy others coin that much better in fundamental.

Because they have too low value which is less than swapping fee. So we have to hold it in our wallet.
We always forget that shitcoins are only shit coins which can't give us profit again and again they only pump once and dump Everytime. So we should book our profit and leave shitcoins.

Easy peasy. Emotional investment.

No one wants to admit they were fooled, or they are wrong. So they hope some day, that shitcoin will get one last sign of life and they can sell it for profit.
But reality is, most of them never will

They fully hope that in the future their Shitcoin will suddenly have a fantastic selling point. the average person who has kept their Shitcoins to date not from a purchase but from a payment from a bounty whose project was unsuccessful.

Some shitcoins will get stuck in your crypto wallets like forever because they have no single value and you can't sell them, to even get rid of these coins from your wallets will still costs you some gas fee and that could be a pain if the coins are tokens on Ethereum network, all you can do is leave them be

I think this is a rhetorical question. I'm 100% sure that everyone wants to sell them, but what's the point of selling them when their price is less than the price of gas. They cannot even be destroyed or removed, they are simply dead weight in the wallet.

I guess the main reason why many crypto enthusiasts are hodling shitcoins is because they do believed that it can be more valuable over time and we have seen some of shitcoins that pump massively this year that give almost a 1000% gain for them.
A millionaire from luck, those are the thoughts of someone trying to throw more money at shitcoins, this plan really is not too bad when you have identified the correct thing, a large amount of shitcoins are enjoying all the services and benefits this year through the bull season. The profit levels are remarkable but I don't feel such hoarding will balance our account, too much desire but too few wallet addresses that can go high, mostly just holding more tokens with no upside potential

I have the coins I earned from the bounty back in 2017. I sold the main part immediately after entering the stock exchange, and left about 10% and forgot about them. Now a lot of coins have accumulated, worth $ 15-20, and I don't see the point in selling them with such a commission

Because I do not see the point of selling my shit coins for a price tag of 5-10 dollars, it’s better that they remain eternal garbage in my garbage collection.

yes I agree with you, because if we sell shitcoin, then we only spend ETH for pay gas fees to transfer this shitcoin on exchange and it is not certain that in exchange we can sell this shitcoin (don't have the volume to sell it), therefore than we spend ETH for pay gas fees, so it is better if we make this shitcoin as a collection.
