There is one clear explanation for this phenomenon and that is because unlike men who goes rushing to the news of an opportunity to make money, women tend to analyse and sometimes even over analyse situations when it comes to managing and making investments with money. Ladies as less trusting to money making schemes.

It's a faulty conclusion. I'm a woman and I started learning cryptocurrency because I know that this will be our future. Yes, it was a bit complex for me, but it worth all my efforts!

Why are you so surprised that are women so underrepresented in the cryptocurrency community? Women statistically were never inventors or explorers.
They would rather stay at home, safe rather than engage in potentially dangerous endeavours - and bitcoin trading is kinda new and uncharted territory.

I managed to find an interesting article online. Here is the most interesting fragment:

"According to the traffic-tracking site Alexa, women are vastly underrepresented on bitcointalk.org, the major Bitcoin discussion forum, and a poll by one forum member found 88.7 percent of respondents identified as male (and of the remaining, 5.3 percent selected “other,” leaving just six percent as female). So rare are women in the community, in fact, that the forums warn members not to do business with “any user blatantly claiming to be female”—because they’re probably a scammer."

Not necessarily, here you can not see who the original player.
It could be here the users of women or housewives, how can you say if women are not more in bitcoin?
how do you know it? i guess you are just guessing it.

I think it's true. As I see in Telegram groups or any other place, the number of men in cryptocurrencies is more than number of women.

I believe that it is because most women think the process in Bitcoin is complex. I have had the chance to talk to a few women about Bitcoin and anytime i start using some of the terminologies, all they will say is that they cannot understand this and most will end up saying that they will invest but i have to manage the accounts for them. I think the reason is that they think Bitcoin is a bit complicated.

I think the reasoning behind this would be that men in general are more of a risktaker when compared to majority of women you are more haooy to be in the safe zone.

women are not fit to work with bitcoin, probably because women will not want to sit around the clock in front of a computer
women are very easy to get bored, especially when it comes to investing, I do not think there will be women who want to invest with bitcoin, because women will prefer gold rather than bitcoin, women tend to prefer low risk investments, and gold is the solution not bitcoin

I have never called out another forum user, but this comment is just stupid and condescending.  In the world today, the technology sector is mostly men and the financial sector is mostly men.  Bitcoin combines both of these (technology and finance), so there are even less women who would have knowledge and/or interest.  That is not to say that women are not welcome in these sectors (I am in the tech sector and have never felt like I didn't belong), it's just they don't tend to move in this direction as much as men do.

I think the reason behind why there are more men involving in this kind of business and where the women are the least is because of the culture, diversity, norms or tradition that establish in their community.
Many people sees women must in the house and serve the family with duly care.

Another woman here but I'm still new in Bitcoin. Tend to be a fast learner though and like all kinds of things. Was really surprised when I realized that there aren't a lot of women in Cryptocurrency and Bitcoin. However just like I'm here others will likely join in the near future. Some likely because of me consistently talking about it Smiley .....

I'm women and i have known bitcoin since 2015. And because bitcoin still very unfamiliar so i disregard it. and now i'm regret it. And until now still many women do not know about bitcoin. Many women more interested into the household jobs or office. For them invest in bitcoin it's very risky.

Take a look around the crypto community, both in meatspace and online, and it would be fair to say that the majority of participants are male. This is borne out in a recent survey of 2,000 Americans which shed light on the makeup of the bitcoin space, highlighting a stark gender divide. In fact Google Analytics data estimates less than 4% of bitcoin users to be female. The question is, why?

I have noticed the same thing with politics not only with Bitcoin and cryptocurrency. I think it's mainly because the past was like this and the present is still adapting to it. In the past (and still today) women are taking care of the house, meanwhile men have to bring money into the house. At least that's how it's going on several nations of this world.

These are seemingly the top 10 women in the crypto space as of 2017 (source: core magazine). Some I agree with some I totally dont agree with and dont see why they should be on this list. But yeah, we definitely need more women in this space, they are clearly underrepresented!

I remember seeing ladies around but seems like there aren’t too many as compared to men.

I feel it is because ladies are mostly not interested in technologies. At least the ladies around me. They play with iPhone and some gadgets but prefer not to go too technical.

Women are not involved in IT/technology stuff as much as men. And they also tend to stay on the safe side when investing. So I would say, it is possible that they find Bitcoin risky.

I think women are not interested in bitcoin, women are always busy with their families. They need to take care their family, so many women there who don't understand the crypto currency. Some women don't believe bitcoin.

Women's nature is to spend, not to invest. Sad but true. Dont get me wrong, Im a woman too. Maybe the majority of us focused only on savings or liquid money for spending. Most of us also didnt want to be in a risky situation where we have an unpredictable profit. Id love to see more women on the Bitcoin world.

It would be great if more women will join bitcoin community. But as you say, women like spend money, not to earn it or invest (of course, we can't say that this point of view concerns all of them, but affects most ladies).

I hope there would be more and more women in crypto world, but even my sister who have great sallary and stable income know about crypto and blockchain only that "it is something too volatile and linked with crime"...

There's more men trying to make money online compared to women because women like to shop more than men do.
