I do not know the exact reason and I am sure that there are multiple reason because of this. The main thing I can think about is when the price is stable then people say it is dead I agree because then there is just not many to do on Bitcoin.
People just don't know what they talking about, at my opinion bitcoin is rising now and price is increasing everyday, also two month till halving comes. Stupid people .
People will only talk negative about bitcoin only because they are not aware about bitcoin yet as bitcoin will be very much higher in coming months.

They are just saying BTC is dead because they want to see the price of bitcoins at $1 again so they could buy more. But guess what? it is not gonna happen again as the time for bitcoins for trial and error was already done. This time is on the serious stage of bitcoins for the different sectors of the community to adopt.
Maybe you are is right thinking they are say bitcoin is dead because want make the price drop but i believe bitcoin never down to $1. 
Either we adopting this new alt coin seriously or it`ll end up like doge coin.
What's happened to Dogecoin? Last time I checked, it was still a better tool for trading (read speculation and profiteering) than Bitcoin...

I think no more people saying bitcoins is dead, because the price keep raising now and maybe the people that said btc is dead is only a buthurt that lose so many bitcoin.
They are just saying BTC is dead because they want to see the price of bitcoins at $1 again so they could buy more. so true. perhaps the fear of declining prices make them say that. to be honest, they are people who do not know about and did not believe bitcoin. Such people will never have a good business

Perhaps they expected a slightly excessive growth on the prices but while it is still the most used and dominate the market debunks any statement.

My take is that since the ETH rise of matching half of bitcoins volume within a short period and having Devs like Gavin on board with it, and coinbases new exchange naming it after says something.
Either we adopting this new alt coin seriously or it`ll end up like doge coin.

It is happening when the person ignore it and don't want to understand regarding those things and don't have any knowledge about BTC. The should to know regarding the BTC then only the people can say it is Alive and never dead.

because they are spreading FUD and want to accumulate more cheap bitcoins from the weak hands or people saying dead dead dead is invested in altcoins that want to hype their beloved pump and dump coins.
