That question can be asked pretty much for anything: Why would you kill for x (replace for any cause really)? So many different variables, anything from psychopaths to false beliefs to being misled to torture, etc.

I think there are bad guys who abuse religion to do bad things. religion teaches us good things, is firm support for morality. But some people are too religious to be used to kill people, terroristsThere are both good and bad things about religion. For example, take the case of Islam. There are a lot of good things in Islam, such as the punishment for adultery and prohibition of alcohol. But we need to remember that there are bad things as well. For example, in Islam apostasy is punishable by death, and so is homosexuality and blasphemy.

Religion basically teaches good things, to shape people's morale. To limit lust, respect others, etc...

They keep their misinterpretation about the doctrine and try to influence and persuade others to have the mind like them. So, religion is not bad, the few people who use it to commit crime are the guilty one.

In my opinion, that is the Islamic state organization called IS. This organization is becoming a major issue in the world. They kill people in a barbaric manner, perform terrorism, post killer clips, terrorist pictures, most recently a terrorist picture of the world cup Religion basically teaches good things, to shape people's morale. Sometimes this reasoning is only used just for them to fully do their bad intention. But, in some cases where someone was involved in killing the reason behind this perhaps is to protect their belief or in other words they felt insulted to what other people say about their religion. Killing people is prohibited in every religion. People who kill another people for religion reason is non sense. They just force their belief and miss understanding about their religion. I absolutely disagree to this cruel action.
I guess religious terrorist are just twisted by leader, I don't think there is a religion exist to hurt other people all they teach is good for me it's just that some educated people are changing its meaning and will pass on to their members just to create some havoc for their own interest.
It is so disheartening to hear that people kill their fellow human beings in the name of religion. What kind of religious teaching will tell people to kill because a reward awaits them, there is no truth it. I think they kill their fellow human being because they believe by so doing some sort of rewards awaits them.

People do not kill people for religion, they use it as an excuse to free their inner homicide istincts

It is therefore easy to wholeheartedly support these religions for giving voice to ethical injunctions for centuries
Religion is wrongly used in this case, no one should kill.

Religion in itself is a peaceful idea I think.
However, there have always been people abusing it for their own causes to gain power and/or money by virtually brainwashing followers with their own interpretation of the religion.

I think that is absurd. I do not get why they are calling it as holy that they kill other people just because it is against their faith. They think of it as it is the will of God. That they are fighting for God.
I was told Islamic religion permit believers to kill any one who is against their religion , in what they called Jihad. But People who kill because of religion has already commit sin and I don't believe they will be forgiven by their maker
Because they believe that is the right thing to do to glorify their idols and also to make their religion known that they are the powerful one.
I'm thinking that it's not just one particular religion. Remember at least the crusades! All religions of the world are distinguished by one unpleasant fact - they all zombify a person, making him either a weapon in someone's hands, or a subject of earnings. Any religion is based not on facts, but on the spiritual component, so it is very easy for even an inexperienced speaker to zombify a person. Suffice it to recall sins, the coming death and hell, and everything - a person begins to think on this topic more and more until he falls into despair. And then he is offered salvation only for the performance of some "charitable" actions. 
All religion are say that don't kill innocent people but some people are doing that for his own Interest but they say that they do it for his religion.

People who kill for their religion are not true believers, they are pretenders. They don't have the real sense of love and compassion on their beliefs. Religion teaches us to be kindhearted, humble, peace loving and not to commit sins.. Those people who kills other people for religion are evil doers who doesnt believe in their religious teachings.
