People cannot resist having fun, they don't even mind if it cost them money to be used to gamble, you will discover that while some gamblers are lamenting on losses from gambling, some are not seeing this as a challenge in any way because they have the money needed to gamble with and were not gambling with the mentality of making profits, which i think should be the primary reason why everyone as well should be gambling with such understanding.

other people have no intention of making gambling as their main source of income which is a good mentality that everyone should learn but it's hard to follow especially that other people gamble to make money and that's not anymore can be prevented because we have different reasons why we gamble. You're lucky if you just gamble for fun and you have money a money just for your gambling activity, but what about the others who can't really stop even if they don't have any money? they will be forced to continue gambling even if they have nothing just to recover the money they lost.

The simple answer to the OP's post is addiction, yes cause once an individual is addicted to something it's quite difficult for them to let go of it moat times, that's why most individuals would always fall back to gambling even when they lose huge amount of money to it, there are some  who are addicted but they don't really know they're, to them they feel they're trying their luck and would probably succeed someday but the truth is they've become addicted.

Another thing is casing loses, this have been discussed in several gambling threads but I think there should be a constant awareness of the consequences of chasing loses to those individuals who do it would desist from it, apart from greed one of the major things that make gamblers become addicted is when they chase lose, it goes wrong most of the times and a bettor might end up having series or losing streaks.

I'll describe my silly story from a few weeks ago.
I had a sizable betting advantage from a multibet I did in a couple of matches that saw me earn more than x13 a couple of weeks ago and I had funds that I could have withdrawn at any time and with my large financial situation, I was confident and prepared to withdraw some of my money.

But the problem arose when my sanity was lost due to ambition as there were so many matches including semi-finals in the Champions League, Europa League and some big matches in domestic leagues such as La Liga and EPL that I was tempted to reuse most of the profits I had made earlier by betting again but the result backfired as I not only lost the profits from my big win, now the balance left in my account was not too much which made me realize that foolishness came to me at that time.
Although I always say gambling responsibly from the beginning, but at some moments in the end I have difficulty controlling it including a few weeks ago so it can also be the answer to why we always gamble even though we have experienced defeat and cannot stop because it is indeed a strong ambition that makes all our defenses and responsibilities become chaotic.

The ambition to earn more is human nature. But if you want to contain such emotion, you need to be strict with yourself even if you talk to yourself again and again. Most gamblers have the same dilemma, playing again after winnings. But to at least mitigate such emotion, you need to pause and ask yourself - to what extent you want this betting life of yours? How much losses you can bear before you stop?

The reasons are nothing new so to speak. We all know why most gamblers continue to bet even if they got their winnings already. They want more and that's the common reasoning for most. What else do you think gamblers want aside from money? Fun, pleasure?
That is the point where sometimes when losing no matter how big in the end continue to gamble because there is an ambition that sometimes we can never keep and we can't think rationally about it which makes this complicated and only realize that what we did was a mistake after we lost.

Agreed with what you said where we have to be strict with ourselves but indeed at some moments there is a point where we just can't rely on that and instead get carried away so that we forget the self-defense that we have built in discipline in gambling and that's what happened to me a few weeks ago. But for now regretting is also useless because it will not come back again so the most important thing for now is how we can better control ourselves and make this experience so that we are not easy to get caught up in the emotions of gambling.

I've a friend of mine who always complain that ever since he started gambling he haven't won a good amount, instead he'll be winning less money than what he expected but he can't stop. So I'm asking what do you suggest he should do at this case. For me I told him that he should know that gambling it's a game of risk and luck, but with the constant betting you might win the amount you've at mind someday. So what are your suggestions towards this.
The type of gambler like your friend will usually become addicted to gambling because he will continue to chase the money he hopes to win big at gambling, that's not what gambling was actually created for, gambling was created to make people happy with their money, especially rich people, so Don't expect to win big if your friend is just poor, but luckily your friend still wins a small amount even though in accumulation he still loses, your friend has to stop doing it so he doesn't lose a lot of money.

The more money you use for gambling, the greater the risk, so why spend time and money all the time just wanting to win big, why not look for fun there, maybe that's what you should do so you don't get tempted by lots of money, if your friend really wants to make money ask him a lot to work hard or do business so he can get a lot of money, in gambling there are no people who are rich and win a lot, although there are those who are lucky, it's very small, the dealer will always win whenever your friend fights him, that's what actually happens, your friend just throws away waste money and time in uncertain pursuits.

It all depends on the amount of money his friend wagers. Your response is good, piebeyb, but I disagree where you point that gambling only works best for the rich. I understand that gambling requires lots of money to win big, but smaller amounts are being looked down on, because it looks small. Little amount of wins can amount to a million dollars in two years depending on the consistency of the player. However, the rich players also get a big loss for wagering huge amount of money. Additionally, sport gamblers can make a kill with a small amount of money. Our perspectives of gambling is contrary based on experiences but his friend is not getting things right. He's not meant to be bothered about this in the first instance. Players are required to focus on understanding their game.

Not complaining over who wins big or not. And if his painful complaints persists, I think he should quit gambling and do other things, like you suggested. On the other flip, gamblers don't feel comfortable accepting losses. It all happens like a self argument where one blames not listening to his instinct as the cause for his losses. Then he tries again, hopefully the player may win, this then cement his thoughts on wagering more until all is lost. Whenever a player doesn't stop playing he'll lose more regardless of his understanding of the game. Although it's not wrong to lose in gambling, it's all about withstanding those losses. Not feeling sad about it. Gamblers who don't trust their strategy tend to continue playing while losing. Their goal is more money not fun.

Your friend has two problems, one is that he is expecting something out of gambling for which he does not have the skills to do, and second most likely he is unwilling to listen to the advice of anyone else regarding their gambling as they believe to know better, so you need to be incredibly tactful with how you approach this issue, as if you are too forceful in the way you address it, you can be sure he is going to automatically assume you are wrong and you do not know what you are talking about.

If addiction normally happens out of one's consciousness, then a gambler is supposed to be evaluating their gambling lifestyle once in a while to make sure that they are still in good conduct. In everything that someone is doing, self-reflection is very important. I don't know about others, but for me in particular, I do something at a time and I think about it all to see if it was really the right thing to do or not, and if I realize I have been doing the wrong thing all the while, then I will just retrace and put myself in place.

Yes, I think it is a fact that addiction can happen at any time with any scenario without the gambler realizing it, and usually the addiction scenario starts when at the beginning of the involvement someone manages to get a big win that makes them feel very happy which in turn puts great expectations on winning. Sometimes people who come with the right approach such as gambling for fun will always have the possibility to experience changes in their mindset, all because of the many temptations that look tempting which when a gambler is careless then various things that look tempting can change their mindset, This means that in gambling, no matter how good your approach is, in the end, fun can still turn into tension along with some pressure, and this can usually also be caused by a gambler mismanaging the time to gamble, for example, they gamble at the wrong time when they are experiencing personal problems, which means that losing in gambling can make them get caught up in emotions even though their initial intention was only to find pleasure.

And maybe I will go back to saying something that I have previously said above that one of the tips so that we can slightly avoid the possibility of addiction is to apply full awareness driven by assertiveness to maintain that awareness, the goal is that we are able to identify whether what we are doing is right or wrong, almost the same as what you said above.
Addiction to gambling goes beyond pulling a lever or playing cards. Your brain lights up like a Christmas tree after your first major triumph. Like drugs, man. You follow that feeling even when the chances are against you because it hijacks your reward system. It goes beyond luck. It depends on your brain wiring, life events, and money and risk beliefs. Not everyone is susceptible, and it's hard to predict who will tumble down that rabbit hole

What can you do? Man, be aware. When playing, you must be mindful of your emotions. Thinking you're invincible or about to win big is a red flag. It's time to reconsider. In the zone, it's hard to accomplish that. Flashing lights and coins striking the tray can make you lose track of time. Set limits, know when to leave, and have a support system if needed

You are right mate. A gambler is not supposed to gamble when they are not mentally prepared for such activity because it can result to loses even in a situation where they are not supposed to lose. Gambling do with mental and emotional readiness, if someone is not prepared for such activities,  they can never performan well and can never catch the fun they have even wanted to archive.

Gambling is a game of luck, and you cannot expect to win at any time, have luck, and win while complaining about it. In my opinion, if he can't take the risk any longer, he should leave gambling because it doesn't favour him, which is why he is winning small amounts of money. He should instead look for another business or something else that will profit him before he starts betting too much and becomes addicted to it. Gambling is a game of chance, and if you lose today, tomorrow he may favour you, and you will always expect to win when you bet because it is a risky game. Bet with money you can afford to lose, not the one you will be regret why you bet on the game. That is why I bet for excitement whenever my favourite club has a match, so I can enjoy watching it. So, if he is unable to quit betting, he should reduce his playing time so that his money lasts and the bet does not profit from him.

Depends on a lot of factors but nine times out of ten the only reason why people even gamble after tanking a massive loss is either they are still in it for the biscuit, or they're already 10 feet deep into revenge gambling and they think the more money they throw down the wastebin the higher the chances of them winning.

As for your friend, the results speaks for itself. He already notices that he loses more money than he makes when he gambles, and he's still pushing for it? That's some capital R behavior right there if I ever saw one. Most people upon noticing that something's wrong would already make moves that would improve upon their current state, your friend complains and does the same shit hoping things would change this time around, that's some S-rank stupidity.

The choice becomes clear, he needs to introspect and find ways to improve his gambling journey. Most people would outright just quit right then and there and honestly I'd love for him to do the same thing as well, since he's clearly ignorant to his own misgivings.

There is this saying that states that nothing good comes easy , people will lose in gambling and still go ahead to gamble because of the following :
1. Gambling is a game of luck
2. There are chances of them recovering their lost money
3.There is possibillity Of the Person turning To a milllionaire with his last bets And many more other reasons

No one has Ever become successful that much without a little bit of failure , they wil lose money from time To time But continous trial can make them meet their luck one day. In gambling when you give up you lose all And when you try over time you can recover your  lost funds . And So many people have their reasons of not giving up which invariably depends on the Choice of the gambler .

I think your friend here is getting drawn to gambling addiction which is a concerning sign, seeing that he can't stop gambling even though he gets bad results from it and clearly they are affecting his mind. This is one of the reasons some people may fall into gambling addiction, when they chase their losses hoping they'll pay them back and double the earning.

The right thing to do here is to advise your friend to stop gambling, because it will clearly just make him broke and cause damage to him, your friend probably isn't aware of his state so try to make it clear for him and especially mention the bad consequences of gambling addiction.

Having that control and awareness is something that cant really be effective or could really be that be able to mind when you are on such condition specially on the time that gambling addiction is gradually consuming you on which it is really that hard to be done with those things that you do have in mind earlier that you should have that kind of control and discipline about your spending and since
we are just humans then we would really be that having that possibility that those things that you had set earlier would really be forgotten and you would really be focusing on whats up into your front on which you would really be that continuing on the things that you've been dealing up or simply gamble even more. This is why treat gambling as a form of entertainment and not something that you would really be talking about making money because this is where things becomes shit if you do make yourself having those shit decisions.  Cheesy

Actually i don't encourage anyone to gamble because it is a person's personal freedom so whoever has money and can spend that money anywhere. Your friend is getting addicted to bad gambling and is constantly losing money so stop him from doing it. If not the next gambler may go into the various crime worlds to raise money. Gambling is all about luck so there is a lot of testing of luck along with dealing with wasting money and you can't change luck at will. There are many people who lose bets again and again because they know that there is no technique to improve luck.
Yes, we don't have the complete right to prohibit their money from gambling, at least by prohibiting it we can make them aware of it. Agree with what you say, there have been many cases of this, if someone is addicted to gambling and has lost quite a lot from gambling, the bad impact is that they will turn to crime if they don't have any money left to gamble. They will do anything to get money and do it again. It's better to love your money for something useful.

And when they are unable to control and control these desires and dreams, this will trigger addiction. Yes, because every time they lose, then they will feel that in the next round, they will get that luck, and then it will be like this until they don't feel it, they are addicted to gambling. However, if they have a gambling addiction, it will be quite difficult to stop it on their own, unless they have a big problem that will really make their life changing or if they get help from people around and treatment by professionals.

Yes, that's it. Addiction is quite easy to emulate but very difficult to kick off when it has deeply consumed the gambler. There is a popular saying that "prevention is better than cure." It's better to prevent gambling addiction at an earlier stage, when the gambler still has regular symptoms. It's true that a gambler can get lucky in the next round, but when they keep trying and the luck is not coming, then the best thing is to take a break and continue next time because the more the person continues to bet, the more losses they get and become emotional, which can lead to addiction.

But normally, gamblers don't give up gambling because they lose the first round; they will still try next time. Though they should not do it frequently to avoid addiction,.

Yes, I like that saying which is applicable to everything as an idea to make one realize that cure is always much more difficult than prevention which means it is clear that prevention is always much better than cure in any case, especially if we talk about gambling which has a very bad impact that can destroy one's life in various aspects. In the end, I strongly agree with what you said above that a gambler must have any measures to prevent addiction as early as possible, and maybe I will give one tip so that you can avoid the possibility of addiction by maintaining awareness of how bad the impact is in gambling along with being based on firmness in terms of implementing it, none other than because as we know that addiction can occur unconsciously which makes a gambler fall into and get carried away over time.

Another thing is that as you said, a gambler should always have the ability to stop at the right time such as when losing especially to prevent the possibility of more significant losses. And if they are a gambler who really struggles to do that then I think what needs to be fixed is their understanding of how gambling actually works.
