I am gambling for fun and excitement the thrill that I am getting when playing while the money is at risk is simple irreplaceable,
I just can't really feel the fun and excitement when there is no risk in a game ,
That's how I really feel when I am gambling.

I like how you think because that's what I thought of for a long time. It's like risking something of value to something that you can get with no risk. Like playing usually or hanging out with friends. You can get fun with that. But as time goes by, probably people get bored, and they want something that is exciting, perhaps that's why they gamble even if they use real money or something like that.

I think this is a great question.  I usually play for real money now... as when I'm working I usually work very hard, with long and odd hours.  I have a few hobbies that I enjoy that get me out and about with friends so those are a nice break from my hectic work. 

One of my hobbies is gambling and I do it to relax, have some fun and stop my brain from thinking about work.  Its almost like a reward to myself for working hard and is definitely a distraction.

I've tried to gamble for play money on freeslots in the past, but it was not much fun for me.  I found nothing to gain from it and it got boring after I had 20,000,000+ fake coins.  If I was going to play for free I would rather play in a poker free roll instead, where there was an opportunity to win something of value.   Or at least interact with people.

Also sometimes, I like to try something new with gambling so would go to a new casino after researching their reputation.  I may try a no deposit bonus, if the new casino had one... just to see how the sites games played, but many times they are hard to clear as they have high roll overs... there are a few exceptions though that I was able to clear easily.

I used to gamble for high stakes, but every now and then I challenge myself by making a tiny deposit into an online casino and see how far I can take it.   So far my best run at these self challenges has been from a tiny ~2mbtc deposit up to a respectable ~400mbtc withdrawal!  It took me a full 7 hours to do that though, but I really enjoyed myself.  Plus the extra income never hurts!  So its not always that I have to gamble on high stakes, but I like the challenge of trying to win.

I guess when I play sports its a similar feeling for me.    I could hit, kick or throw a ball with some friends for a while and not keep score... but its so much more fun when we play an actual game, and we keep score, and then someone can win the game right?

Just remember, bankroll management is important.  So try not to play for more than you can afford to lose and you should always have fun.  If you have a problem gambling, or if it stops being fun, consider that it may be time for you to take a break and try another pass time that you can enjoy more?

This makes me wonder too why they are gambling for fun only and not with the money.

Play money, trial or whatever yeah!!

I doubt it that someone will honestly say that they are only for the fun.

I never assume that gambling is just for fun.
here I am gambling just to make a profit.
although sometimes experienced a loss.
perhaps for some people who think gambling for fun in order to lose their time is not too stressful with the money lost

Well, for me betting with real money on an activity that is made for entertainment because it forces you to play much more serious to do wverything you can and adds a little more flutter in your heart that would make winning much more enjoyable because you have lived through that adrenaline rush. Well it also gives you sadness when you lose so its a two way street

when you are gambling with or without money the experience will be different, as an example if we gambling without money, personally, I can't feel the excitement, the hype and etc. in other hands, if we using a money to use gamble, the game will be more interesting and exciting.

I play for fun sometimes with my money. I have a bore life nowadays, I am just at home and school with my son and waited for him for 3 hrs to finish his studies. Some people are also like that doing everyday routine gets us bored so we are making ways to make our lives more excitement not only with gambling but also to play with an arcade or carnivals.

Gambling can only be fun if you keep the ante very low so that you play mostly for the fun part of it and if you happen to win some then more fun to it. But if you play with high antes it will stop being fun fast after you take in some huge losses and become a gambler addict. There are very few people that can make a living with gambling, most will leave their money to the house.

It can be said to have fun because of small bets, they just look for entertainment to make the game more fun. Different things with large bets, they are really looking for income from gambling.

I gamble for fun but I need money too. Gambling for fun for me means that whenever I lose money from my habits, I try to prevent that loss from hurting my finances and my life. If I play with "fake money" I will not have fun. Nothing is free in this world including fun!

I know a lot of people said that they are gambling for fun, and the reason why they say that is because gambling with mony is more exiting than just palying a normal game, having somthing to risk is more exciting and gives it more flavor, the feel when you are waiting for the resaults the rush that you get from gambling does not exist if you are just playing for nothing, besiades i am only talking about the people who spend like a 30 to 20$ not the ones who put like a 1000$ and excpect to have fun.

In my opinion, people gamble with winning as their main goal. Addiction is the hidden effect of this goal which can sometimes be mistaken as 'fun'.

Because when playing gambling and i feel depressed, that's where i don't enjoy the game.
Conversely, if i do a game with real money for fun, i really enjoy the game but with the condition we have to stay focused so as not to lose a lot of money.
The point is i play gambling with real money for fun and make a profit even though gambling is very risky but gambling can make many people happy and many people also become poor because of gambling addiction.

Some gamble using money because they want to multiply it and use for a special project while others gambling to release their stress and tension for the entire day or week. To those people who have lot's of money to spend they don't care if they will lose a lot from gambling all they want is to enjoy while others seems to be hopeless and thinks gambling is the only way for them to earn instant big amount

Yeah the the thrill are so exclusive, it's like an extreme sports where people looking for something that can touch up the heart to beat so fast. But still honestly you would play for profit as time goes by and that's actually the biggest challenge for anyone to hold yourself for being greedy and just stick on gamble for having fun .

The main reason is that when we do play between real and play money on gambling the thrill and intense on it wont really be experienced along the way which if you do know that you are just playing fake money or free money from the site you wont enjoy the game since you know that youve got nothing to lose no matter what would be the outcome. Enjoyment would comes at first few bets but after that it would be gone and becomes boring and this is why most people do play gambling for real money because they do know that they might able to make even bigger money when they are lucky enough on that particular day.

I think people gamble because they want to earn money in an instant but they know that the chance is little so they are excited to know if they are lucky to win the price or not. And although they lose in the game, they find it fun because of the excitement they feel during the game.

I play games using money because I was not enjoy playing anything with any bets. I was in lazy when I play without any bet, maybe if I win trophy or medal that's the game I focused to win. But if I play for nothing, like playing basketball without bets, medal or anything I was not enjoy it.

Gambling small amounts which you can afford to lose means you are responsible gambler. Also gambling small amounts doesn't mean you are playing for fun.
My friend is betting every single day small amounts which he can afford to lose and he said he is doing it only for fun, to "follow scores" he said (if that is right word). I asked him can't you watch scores without betting and he didn't know what to answer.
Besides, if money isn't involved it is playing, not gambling, so what is your point anyway

What is real money anyway? Someone who is billionaire can afford to lose $100K and from your post I made conclusion that this is real money, does it mean he is gambling to make more money(because this is real money)[1] or for fun(because this is money he can afford to lose)[2]?
So, everyone is gambling for fun and no one here is gambling because there is chance to win money? Is that what you are trying to say?

Ok, lets be honest.
I am not whale and I like to chase jackpots and I usually play games with high payouts. I do it because I want to win money and it is fun to win but it is not to lose. Thrill and excitement are all the way, but that is not my reason. I also buy lottery ticket once per month but there isn's any excitement or thrill in that because I check numbers few days latter. So your "whale" point is wrong.
Do you place money on team which has some sort of advantage or on the team you are cheering for?
For example, you are West Ham's fan and they are playing against Manchester United(which is playing home). Would you place bet on West Ham?
