Why does losing ~10,000 satoshis feel so bad?

Faucets are a waste of time, I think that's been confirmed now.

I lost $2.50 while trading some NXT, it felt kind of bad, but not like heart-breaking bad. I can easily get what I lost on it, thanks to signature campaigns.

I made about $0.30 from faucets (Lots of faucets) over the course of a month when I was first starting out, felt good to have some BTC but now it feels just like a waste of time.

Betting away faucet money is fun though, you don't ignore that...

It could be worth basically every imaginable value in the future. 10000 Satoshis could buy you a car or not even a single cent. It only makes sense to value the Bitcoin at their respective point in time. That Pizza for a couple thousand BTC could of course buy you a house today, but that's not how it works!

Not many people can have that much active referrals, you would need a lot of time and planning to get so much referrals.

Look around the forum, post and learn somethings. When you reach member status, join a signature campaign, you can easily post constructive posts as you can advice people better. Your time also wouldn't be wasted.

I'd actually subscribe to the complete opposite of that claim. I think many people wouldn't care if they lost some BTC. Bitcoin is still in its infancy and therefor many people still just have fun using it for the sake of just using it. Also that many zeros behind the decimal point make it look rather shabby, even though it isn't

But what makes you do it? I'm curious about this.

Is it because you believe that a Bitcoin will be worth an absurd amount of money in the future? Or is it simply that it provides you a distraction while giving you the impression of doing something productive?
