Block halving is coming.
I'm sorry I had not seen this old topic, Because me on my phone the forum is still displayed in desktop mode even with several browsers on iphone Sad
If your problem is this "Desktop mode" then try to check or download a chrome browser then check this setting if you have below

Uncheck the "request desktop site" and try to browse on the forum again it must be mobile view.

If not, try to install Opera Mini and then check it if it set to "Request desktop site" then switch it to "Mobile-friendly view"

For built-in/safari browser you can watch this youtube video from here How to Request Mobile Website in Safari on iPhone or iPad

Apparently, its also a good idea to make a 2020 style forum using Ionic and Node.JS, but would be hard to make an API that could log a user's credentials on the forum. I've been thinking of that idea to use Node.JS to get all of the forum's page content and turn it's UI to a minimalist design using Ionic. Ionic apps can be used as a mobile app or a website, but the themes and UI/UX is different from the original bitcointak.org design. Therefore, that app would only be a bitcointalk.org browser, but would be hard to be used for logging in.

Ironically making it harder for people to log in Via a smart device by having to utalise extra credentials goes against the howls of protests at introducing KYC or 2FA to the Forum that occurs in other parts of the forum on a daily basis.  (Keep up the good work)

I would like to know why to this day the bitcointalk forum still does not have a mobile application? on android or apple? most people nowadays use their cell phone to write on forums and it would be more user friendly Smiley. The bitcointalk forum is currently not compatible also on the mobile phone browser it remains in desktop mode Sad

Who would like to have a forum available on a compatible cell phone?

Since the issue has been around for only a short time I will quote my answer from the other thread here:

Meanwhile there are some ideas and therefore some threads about this topic.
Here is an overview with a few additional approaches:

Bitcointalk Mobile Friendly App for Android
Mobile Friendly Bitcointalk
This is how bitcointalk.org looks like on a mobile phone

With epochtalk everything will be better anyway Smiley

Maybe this will help you a little bit Smiley

Do not worry OP your post is just only shows that you are newbie and there is nothing wrong about it. Later on you will going to learn how to do things in the forum. As I read the reply of other users they are right and I agree with them. Simple tip is that try to use the search button next time when you want to ask something. In my opinion there is nothing wrong to open a new topic like this because these should be the common questions newbie should ask and not how to earn on bounties. Somehow starting a new thread discussions will not going to hurt you when you wanted to learn something that is just normal user should do when everything is unclear.

Do not get intimidate by other users as well especially the high ranks. Other users may be rude but mind you that they are very helpful. I always read their replies as usual they are very informative it is just that others had little patience on newbie or low rank users but see they still replied on your thread. LOL, Again , high rank users here are the one who had experience and can share a lot of things to learn. Respect is always present in here (the forum) so no need to worry about it.

This same question has been asked many time before, and I think that it will never be officially released.
There is a big risk of someone releasing fake bitcointalk app to steal members profile login and password information.
However I would like to see more mobile friendly forum website.

As long as you can zoom and only wish to read a bit (horizontally is indeed the ideal position, as mentioned above), it's perfectly possible to scroll and read through the threads on your mobile phone. I do it from time to time when I have some spare time.

But as soon as you want to write a reply that's a little longer than the standard 'yes sir great project moon', that's when frustration kicks in. Even logging in is a real pain in the bottom. I really don't see myself quoting, changing layouts, replying 3 alineas of text, etc. on my mobile phone.

I can't really imagine how an app or a mobile-friendly design could improve the whole thing; I'd say it's rather a simple practical battle of small screens and small virtual keyboards vs. a lot of text, which has nothing to do with the forum as such (but I'd be delighted to be proven wrong).

I think they don't need to release a mobile because you can access the forum by using a mobile built-in browser or use a chrome app.
The forum is very responsive on mobile so there's no need for them to create an app you can access them anytime to any mobile browser without any issue.

And honestly, it was been discussed here many times why not read them first check the link below.

In vertical positive the fonts are very small but you have the option of zoom to view the content. Horizontally it is much better as compared to vertically. I generally use my android phone to access the forum and I always view it horizontally.

How would having an app be that much different or better to simply browsing the web site via your mobile phone's browser such as Firefox?  I browse the forum via Firefox on my mobile phone logged in via my mobile alt and haven't had any issues.

Thank you for sharing, too bad I'm not an application developer Sad I'm only from webmaster Smiley

Just a heads up: You don't necessarily need to be a developer to be able to test and contribute to the project. All you need is time to test the functionalities of the website and report the bugs; and that's pretty much it. Tongue

You're forgiven (by me, anyway).  I've seen this topic pop up probably a couple of times a year for the past few years, and it's always the same answers and opinions and in the end we never get a mobile-friendly site.  Fortunately the site is pretty easy to use on a smartphone even without having the standard mobile-friendly site that most websites have in the current year.

Simple machines forum software is open source and does pre date smart phones, but I use it on my phone and tablet as well as the PC. Feel free to provide your feedback to the open source project directly here  https://www.simplemachines.org/
Cool--so you made an app or script that makes bitcointalk show up as mobile-friendly?  I haven't clicked on the link and won't, since I don't access the forum from my phone anymore, but props to you if it solves OP's gripe.

Also OP, I think Theymos should have (and still should) make this forum prettier on mobile devices.  I haven't been keeping up with what the new forum software is going to have as far as features, but I hope that's one of them.  I also hope the software gets implemented before I die of old age.

I also hope to have a new version of the forum because since then it has not changed any more Sad

It happens on most smartphones, including the one I own. FYI, this forum's version is more than a decade old Smiley

Yes the forum has no further development :-( by looking at the web archive

A newer mobile-friendly forum software(EpochTalk) is already currently *still* being built. Not sure when it's going to be fully released though as it's been a while already.. https://bitcointalksearch.org/topic/epochtalk-development-overview-current-version1350-2020-11-03-5206998

Is this what the OP wanted to find & ask.

1. Topic: Bitcointalk Mobile Friendly App for Android
2. Topic: Bitcointalk in a mobile app.
3. Topic: BitcoinTalk Forum have an Mobile Apps?

@The Pharmacist, you have to forgive the OP in this case, maybe he's a little lazy to find out how many topics are discussed here every year.

OP, maybe, many questions and answers have been answered related to the OP topic, you can find 99% of the answers on the above topics.

Thank you so much ;-)
