That makes sense. A common sense isn’t that much common in common people. This is a statement we are listening since our childhood. And right here in this forum, we have seen practical example of this. We all know what the benefits and losses of this are galling. There is not even a single benefit related to this gambling but still people are dumb and blind to get in there.

Actually, we do not see the bright side to this. If you read he responses in this thread, most of the people had overcome their addiction and are doing good in their life now. So loss due to gambling actually acted as a driving force for them. Perception of people are changing towards a lot of things, something considered very bad in earlier times is easily accepted by majority now.

Sure, but it depends on the context: there are greedy people losing money, and unfortunately this is a majority and that is why it has such a general negative feedback. It is like with alcohol. There are abusers and they created all the bad press.

But there are also people who use it as a not-so-regular pleasure in a mild manner and I don't see anything wrong with it.

Gambling is portrayed negatively wherever in the society because it cause bad consequences to the people who don’t know how to control their gambling habit. Many families and relationships was broken because of gambling. It is also a reason to commit crime when an addicted gambler ran out of money to gamble. And mostly of the gamblers are also drunkard and lost their mind when drunk. That is why gamblers have negative impact in the society.

Don’t compare it with trading, there is a huge difference. In trading you have variety of options to minimize your loss but in gambling you don’t have a choice.

3) There is always some sort of luck involved in succeeding. The percentage is more in gambling though.

A gambler has no respect in society and mostly gamblers are the bad people of a community. Criminal people gamble with their robbed or snatched money. This is the only source of their income because they have mostly no regular work.

Obviously because there are lots of people who got addicted in gambling and they cannot even control their selves and those people lives gets miserable. I know some of my friends and neighbors here. I gamble but I see to it I can control myself.

They have no respect in society and people keep avoid from these gamblers. The families of such gamblers live a worst life and they even hate these gamblers.

Gambling is not the way of making money but the way of losing money. In my country gambling is not allowed and the gamblers seek hide place for gambling. If the police raid, they will be arrested and put into jail. Their family members even do not want them to be out of the jail. It means that they have no respect and people want to get rid of these gamblers.

Not all gamblers are criminals you could say some gamblers are criminals others just cry or grieve but most are able to get them back on track. They do suffer a lot for the initial years but later on they are finally financially strong and assure them that they will never gamble again.

The only one reason is because most of the time we are losing in gambling, so the normal response would be negative because we didn't get what we wanted even though we did our best, but since our luck is not enough, we always lose against the house. I would be amazed if gambling would be positive to all of the people's perspective.
