I do not agree that the government does not like cryptocurrency. I know a few countries in which the cryptocurrency is recognized at the legislative level.
Cryptocurrencies are a competition to that money which governments of various countries print. This is the first reason why governments do not want to legalize cryptocurrency.
Who says governments does not like crypto currency. There are a lot of whales in this market. People keep buying in very very big batches. Can you gurantee that these are not governments silently stockpiling some good coins or tokens. They maybe don't like crypto currency according to the press, but what if it is not the case.
Government is power, power is kept in control, cryptocurrency weakens this control as they give people alternative ways to make money and avoid taxes. Of course, this is not profitable for a single government.
There are still some countries that have developed interest in cryptocurrency. Some have even announced their consent, such as the government of Russia and the likes. Just recently, i got to know that South Africa government has also officially announced her consent. What we really need and that will make the governments of other countries to give their approval is if it has been regulated. Regulating it will even make the space safer. This will also be an encouragement to investors.
Nobody likes or love his/her rival, so its just simple the government does not see anything in crypto. If the people shift to crypto it means the government is really going to incur some great loses since there is no regulatory body.
Depending on which country's government to talk about. It is clear that cryptocurrencies are dangerous for the financial system of the whole world and therefore many governments are afraid of this, but there are those who are not against cryptocurrencies, there are also those who earn with the help of cryptocurrencies.
Gov's don't understand. They want to lead this branch. Who have more then can to dictate price or some other ways. Especially for PoS/DPoS coins. But with their ideas about crypto own currencies ... It will not blockchain as I think. It will be something like XRP
Some government agencies are very friendly to cryptocurrency. I think that more developed countries are loyal to crypto.
They are trying to control everything and crypto is not giving them any chances to do this. Thisis why the Government does not like crypto!
Yes, this happened in my country that Cryptocurrency is not permitted to be used for payment media. They say that Cryptocurrency is dangerous because it can be used for terrorist funding and money laundering. This can have a negative impact on the government.
Anything that can't be controlled naturally won't appeal to the government. They can not check transfers, there is no data about the owners of wallets, no one cooperates with them, so they will interfere with the work of projects. 
Well, definitely the state does not like cryptocurrency due to the fact that they can not control it, cryptocurrency can be said all people have but except the state and they always try to control but nothing happens
that is only one reason why the government does not like crypto, actually there are still many other reasons and one of them is because crypto is very vulnerable because its value is not stable because it can make people become poor immediately. if only the crypto value is more stable then the government will consider agreeing to the existence of crypto.To be fair, some states are only just now beginning to understand crypto. And when all you can find and search for online about crypto is scams and profits and make money, then of course most people unfamiliar might see it as a threat to the people.
Ask the authorities in my country,,, they are not unfriendly to crypto but they recently announced (the central bank) that they are getting so many calls a week from citizens asking if this Bitcoin investment is fake or not.
Crypto is getting a bad name from scammers, and people have lost money investing in scams (not crypto).

No government likes electronic money. Because electronic money is anonymous and the government can not handle it. And electronic money can completely destroy a country's finances.
I don't think so as our current government here is pro crypto. This will eventually lessen the fraud or corruption in our country. Elections will be better with blockchain as for transparency.

Governments now have many laws to prevent money laundering through crypto. especially in China, and there are now a lot of projects under development for social needs. In the coming years, governments will have to think about the potential of the crypto
