Government is supposed to represent the wants of its citizens, but somewhere along the way they got power hungry and chose greed and control. Bitcoin is a great way to say fuck you to institutions stuck in the past. It's time the world grew up.

If corrupt governments and Bankers can take what's yours then we can say that Satoshi gave us the perfect answer to capital control! And that's one of the main reasons that gives its intrinsic value.
And that's the reason why Government hates bitcoins as they cannot regulate the currency. This negativity is also helping bitcoins as users find it easier to save their taxes and not feed the corrupt officials. I also like bitcoins as I have found a new form of investment that is not taxed.
That's an illusion. Of course governments can regulate it. Of course it can be taxed. They can massively hurt the USD value by making it hell for exchanges to operate or making it entirely unattractive for merchants to use it. They can and already do require exchanges to hold licenses for offering financial services and unless you use a decentralized exchange they do record your trades, a very clear basis for all kinds of taxes, most importantly income tax. Whenever you need to exchange btc to fiat governments will be there. Find a merchant to sell you something in BTC if he/she can't exchange their coins to fiat. Heck, even Tor nodes face surveillance these days, some even say there are more tor nodes run by the FBI than anyone else.
The only reason Bitcoin will continue to be successful imo is that some people in governments actually see value in Bitcoin and are very frustrated with the state of the monetary system themselves, or at least have doubts about. Governments are made up of people, too and they were just as shocked by the financial crisis of 2008 as Satoshi Nakamoto or your next door neighbor.
