I think this is one of the main ideas behind bitcoins... the big "F*CK YOU"
IMO Bitcoin isn't meant to be a "fuck you". I like bitcoin because it makes an attempt at fixing one of the biggest problems that we face globally. Big Banks, Federal Reserve and other things like that need to be checked and balanced. This isn't going to happen this late in the game, and so the reason I like bitcoin is because it is what it is: a "de-centralized peer-to-peer currency".

Exactly! Bitcoin gives you freedom from centralization and the greedy practitioners present in the Federal Reserve. By using Bitcoin you are indicating that you are your own bank and have total control over it. No ones there to mint fiat/ paper money out of thin air and then pump it into the economy which makes no sense.

miners are the mint. the blockreward is minting funds out of thin air..
the difference however is that it is controlled output that cannot be manipulated or run a muck even by those creating the funds.

different implementations like multibit, electrum are the equivalent to regional bank ATM's all connected to the same network developed by bitcoin-core but managed by different companies.

so it gives you freedom from government.. but is not 100% freedom. after all bitcoin-core's next implementation could totally avoid including the ability to import standard private keys, forcing people into moving funds into HD segwit keys. or be left behind..  if they wished to..
or even change how the blocks are transmitted and what information is included in them. if they wished to..

bitcoin core is the federal reserve. if your not using their network then your using an altcoin
the only difference is that its alot easier to make your own implementation that sticks to the 2009-2015 rules and ignore any sinister rules future changes, weakening core's control of future direction if everyone else done the same, should bitcoin-core decide to take things in that direction.

so although its not government controlled.. its not 100% user controlled.. its a public democracy with known leaders, not a public society managed individually. and as long as bitcoin-core stays moral and does not abuse its democratic power, they will continue to lead the way. if they start doing plans that dont sit well with users then there would be a revolution into a more society managed network. where there are 100 different implementations all working together to ensure one doesnt force the network down a dark path

so dont be too dreamy that bitcoin is not controlled.. otherwise you will let things happen that your not aware of, until its too late.

Totally agree with you as this is also one of the factors why I like it in the first place. Government itself always want to have control over everything that they offer to it's citizens and yet keep on making silly rules all the time so they would restrict each citizen in case they try to find some freedom but with BTCitcoin it's the other way since you have your freedom in tip of your fingers and you could always bend in a little bit further without being restricted into it's use.

It is the epitome of democracy.

Government is supposed to represent the wants of its citizens, but somewhere along the way they got power hungry and chose greed and control. Bitcoin is a great way to say fuck you to institutions stuck in the past. It's time the world grew up.

Government is a broader representation of its citizens. Bitcoin is a broader representation of its community. Both are only as strong as their foundations.

Governments are changeable via coups, political corruption, and corporate co-opting. Bitcoin is also changeable (hard fork) via via coups, political corruption, and corporate co-opting.

In order for both to remain pure and honest, the people must stand firm, remain educated, and rise up as injustices arise. Why do we allow our politicians to become controlled by banks and corporate lobbyists? And why now do we all our developers to be manipulated by these same influences?

Excellent point! I guess I feel like Bitcoin has given us a chance to start fresh, but you are absolutely right that with the wrong influences and a few wrong turns the whole system can get just as messed up as anything else.

I do really like the idea of people being in full control though, specifically with owning their money. Most people don't grasp the concept that if the government wanted you to have no money your credit cards could be cancelled and bank accounts frozen; Bitcoin prevents this from happening by making you the master of your own money. However, it does come with issues that some may see as a downside: without a middleman like VISA controlling your purchases, individuals are forced to accept full liability for their actions. This is something that I think many people are just not ready for: no begging and complaining to the bank or credit card company to get your money back when someone defrauded you or you didn't do your due diligence when transferring money to either investigate the person you are dealing with or the product you are buying.

The development of bitcoin has fallen almost completely into the hands of banker-controlled entities.

What percentage of the community understands this dire state of affairs? The 21-million cap will be targeted. Who will protect it?

At its current rate of compromise, it's only a matter of time before Bitcoin mirrors government. How to solve? We must each look within.

For me personally I like the way to earn free Satoshi and try to make more with it. Have some scammers found on mine road but learned from that. At the first start we all have to experience how it really work all.

Definitely one of the main reasons why people enjoy the use of Bitcoin, although as you delve into it, the benefits of using this currency are staggering. Bitcoin for the long term.

It is the epitome of democracy.

How so?

Democracy is an overrated shit. It almost never works as it should. It's massively flawed on many levels and ineffective. How do you compare it to Bitcoin? Are you equating hashing power/nodes to voters?

haha right on! bitcoin is a revolution against corrupt government made by nakamoto satoshi, right know government is not yet feeling the effect of
bitcoin and if bitcoin continue to become popular to use around the world eventually government will start to feel the revolution.

im not against my government but im against corrupted government officials.

The feds shouldn't be knocking in your door as long as we have decentralized nodes and also increased privacy by native Tor support, this is why I support core and not Classic and the other hard fork proposals, I just can't trust that they are pro decentralization of nodes and pro privacy, therefore why would I want the devs to change..
