In China, the great firewall blocks bitcointalk and presumably Bitcoin nodes. It is easy for them as they have the firewall in place already. It is impossible to block it completely but it can cause some inconvenience at the least.
yess we know chinese is biggest market for bitcoin also biggest comunity in the world
and im sure chinese goverment never plan to do it

Unfortunately, bitcointalk.org is blocked there. Check here: http://www.greatfirewallofchina.org/index.php?siteurl=bitcointalk.org. I can't access it there last year too.

They don't block the exchanges though.

Why in some countries Bitcoin is banned is the accepting of Bitcoin by  websites and that are illegal .

im never hear county banned to  acces bitcoin website,
in my country, my goverment not banned bitcoin for transaction, but the bitcoin isn't legal payment because the bitcoin transaction have more chance to money loundry

i think some country banned bitcoin because they are scared if bitcoin change the bank system

Bitcoin cannot REALLY be banned, its P2P so they can't shut down one person and expect the whole network to go offline.

BItcoin works anonymously which create two problems:
1. Bitcoin transaction is untraceble which make it heaven for criminals (as government think).
2. As governement can't track who get funds they can't get tax on those transactions.
There may be other reasons too.

But no any countries can't stop or shut down bitcoin network so that banned is only on doing exchange of bitcoin to local currency what i know till now.

Even tho its true that no country can effectively ban Bitcoin and nodes will keep existing and the network working, it would be a devastating hit towards mainstream adoption, because the average joe still pays attention to the mainstream media.

Maybe because bitcoin is anonymous. They can use it in illegal work without trace. So I think it will be hard for them to catch those people who are not doing good who doesn't have any trace.

A lot of counties see Bitcoin as the ultimate money laundering tool. If more and more people keep getting aware of its existence, they may all start working for Bitcoin under the table to not report any taxes, but for this more merchants would need to arise.

On my country, bitcoin doesn't have law but still illegal so it means that I'm using bitcoin will my own responsibility.
I think goverment thinks that bitcoin can't be own since we as user hold it's private key  or bitcoin provide anonymous transaction , that's why some countries ban bitcoin

I have seen a map showing in which countries is legal and illegal to use bitcoin.
I think that the countries that do not allow bitcoin is maybe that they hear bad news for bitcoin.
And as we know sadly a good percentage of bitcoin is being used in black markets and that could be the reason.
