The guy said this so as not to mess up his image on the side of governments, if 90% of all the countries of the world legalize bitcoin, then his opinion will be different, that is, he does not have his own opinion, just say what he said not to look bad governments ... was something like: "I am an example for society so I can not encourage something that many governments do not encourage"

most of the people that dont need money or what we call rich doesnt need or wants to invest money in online especially if they hve companies that they can get success on Bill Gates is against bitcoin because he think that bitcoin is a poor investment. He also think that investing in bitcoin is crazy, maybe he also don't want to risk his money on investing in bitcoin and he do not believe cause maybe he cannot see his future in investing annd waiting for a long period of time. I think his dislike crypto because he does't understand, why people does investment to something they can't touch, see and using in real life. We know he invested his money to maked something real, like windows, computer, zafra with their t shirt, or other company produce like bike, food etc. he does't understand why crypto is unreal product, but more valuable than real company product. He said that Bitcoin and other cryptocurrencies are kind of a pure greater fool theory type of investment, base on my reading he have also a bitcoin but few years he sell it afterward, maybe bill gates hates long term holding but whatever it is was must respect his opinion about bitcoin, because he became a millionaire in different way.

I think that Bill Gates is a very smart person on what he usually does, but regarding all the other fields well, maybe he better to shut his mouth since he doesn't look like he really knows what he's talking about.
Maybe he doesn’t need the money. We all know that he’s retired and just spends most of his time giving away his money to charity and other worthy causes.
