For increasing the price of bicoin one method is to accept it by more and more people and holding it as an investment as mentioned in your post while the other way is to increase the use of bitcoin in the market as with that people will have demand for it and the price in that case will increase.
Bitcoin is worth, it has a big value. It change someone's life like me. Bitcoin is a cryptocurrency, it is found in the network only. You can't buy in the market using bitcoin and that why some people say it has no value. But if you could know the world of bitcoin, you will know that it is so beautiful. If you wanted to be rich then start learning about bitcoin because many people became rich because of bitcoin.

i want to add that currently bitcoin is mainly used as a speculation tool and as a store of value, not so much as a currency, i don't have data but many people are just dumping for fiat rather than using their coin on the various online shop, as of now bitcoin is very good at store of value because of the potential of its value in the future and the best alternative to gold for me
Bitcoin is worth according to demand and conditions on the market. It's vsl is real and it's measurable in comparison to fiat currencies. With Bitcoins you can buy some real things and you can exchange it for fiat money or services so it realy has concrete value. And for some people also has some personal value too.
Of course Bitcoin is a value, in fact it is determined with certain value. With Bitcoins you can pay for stuff so it's obvious that it has a value and at the moment it's the most valuable cryptocurrency.
What is worth particulary to everyone of us that is a different story but I'm sure that for no one is worthless.

Those people that are going to say that bitcoin is worthless are just the ones that doesn't know what bitcoin is and what is the true value of it. But for us who knows the reality with bitcoin, we all know what's the true value or worth of bitcoin for us. We are using it as alternative currency for buying things online and also as an investment.
The value of bitcoin measured by how much money invested in it, how much people use it, how much stores accept bitcoin payment as it is a digital currency. Bitcoin had gained the value from the first time back to 2009 when it joined the market.
There is no doubt of how valuable bitcoin right now, highest exchange rate compare to others currencies, bitcoin is worth obviously.

Yeah, they are absolutely wrong about knowing in bitcoin. Bitcoin was really valuable even at this point in time. It is just simple, the creator saw the aspect financials problem of the people all around the world. So He formed up the unique features of bitcoin such, anonymity, flexibility, easy to setup,money transfer, security, and safety of the currency and Bitcoin was DECENTRALIZED this is the main, main reason why people get involve themselves here even the other biggest company or the masses in the other country adopting it.

Bitcoin has huge potential of value, and now we've been sitting on $980, who said it has no value?Bitcoin price will increase anytime when more people buy/invest in bitcoin which created bigger market cap.
Simple economics rules, supply and demand, these rules affected bitcoin too, high demand and limited supply make bitcoin price always increases.

It has value in many ways for different kind of people with different mentalities. It has value for some people because it has a high price, It has value for someone people because it keeps fluctuating and they can earn profit through this. And it has value for someone people just because they are earning money even if they are not doing anything as the price is growing gradually.
Why bitcoin have a worth? Because there are people like us who are interested in using of bitcoin which leads to buying and selling of bitcoin and because of the demand of the people, bitcoin worth is getting higher and higher; year after years. So another possible interpretation to your question is, Why bitcoin is worth or worth it to use. Bitcoin is very worth it to use or adopt because it offers a lot of features which can help our lives in daily basis and also it has a great security feature which you don't need to expose your personal information just to transfer or receive money.

You don't need to trust something for it to have a value. Years ago there was a site that was selling pixels for money, and you could spend a dollar there and be listed as an owner of a share, that didn't really give you any benefits. There are strange things in this world that have value to a group of people, like sports and movie gadgets to its fans, baseball cards, and many more. Why Bitcoin has a value? Because a group of people believe in its capabilities.

In other side , people who know bitcoin can think better since they have potential just like other investment ( gold , jewel etc )
But it's difficult to see bitcoin grow is full capacity if goverment still not support it

I'm sure someone who says bitcoin has no value are those that do not know about bitcoin and never benefit from bitcoin. I am sure if they know about bitcoin, they won't say it like that. bitcoin is worth for me, because my life has changed with bitcoin and be better in terms of finance and Economics.

well i think the person who said that bitcoin has no value hasn't seen or experienced yet what bitcoin can do them. at first i didn't take btc seriously as well but as i go on using it, i realize it's potential both in earning money and in making transactions like money transfer easier and cheaper. And with the price of bitcoin going up, this means that more people are realizing it's worth
if you can spend bitcoin then bitcoin has a value, the reason why bitcoin has a value because everybody is accepting and treating bitcoin as money, and the value is determined by the transaction rate and the demand and supply, so if more people using it, it will be more valuable, and I believe when someone knows the advantage of bitcoin more people will join to used bitcoin
I agree. The more people use bitcoin, the higher prices Bitcoin can be. Therefore, if we want to make Bitcoin more valuable, we must encourage a lot more people to join the digital world and teach them how to use bitcoin. In the future, I hope that we can witness more and more people accepting Bitcoin and the prices will be more than $10000

Does the fact BTC has a limit on how many coins it is possible to mine mean it's value has to keep growing proportional to the fiat value it is being put into it? Cant figure how to word this correctly. What i mean is if there are more and more people using it for everyday purchases, there surely has to be an increase in price, right? Current $17B market cap seems no where near big enough to support mainstream usage. Since printing money is not an option like with fiats, only way for market cap to grow (by a lot, since mining the rest of it will take time) is to increase the price of Bitcoin. Do i have that right?
Also, is it possible for the Bitcoin Core devs to disregard the 21M limit and increase the reward back to 50 BTC? (theoretically)

Bitcoin is worth what people respect it to be .bitcoin can be worth a million dollars and bitcoins can be a few dollars .it depends on us that which priority is are we going to give it to bitcoins .so it is very important that we make it popular.
