Because drama sells newspapers...or clicks on a website. This is also the natural progression of human acceptance of a new technology. First people criticize it as a fad, then they say "well I would never need that", then they start to get curious, then they realize the want it, and finally they realize the need it.

We're in the "well I would never need that" phase with a few people starting to get curious.

Bitcoin's been making its epic run all year long. The mainstream media didn't care until August. And when they were reporting in August the news was all about "epic run, it's a fad, it's a bubble, bitcoin fans are foolish!" Now, in December, we're starting to see more articles about the future, the value, and the staying power of Bitcoin.

It's been fun to watch! Don't worry about the mainstream media...worry about your own personal comfort level with Bitcoin.

Couldn't agree more with you here. Of course, since the btc community grew, media wants to get people's attention by writing negative articles just for the sake of click bait for their sites. And besides, politics is everywhere and it's sad that truth and unbiased journalism is stained with it. Whoever pays them well will definitely get a spot in their headlines so it could be the banks or the government or anyone that will benefit in ruining cryptos are the ones behind those articles to make people doubt btc and cryptocurrency in general.

it doens't seem like that to me, in my country all I've heared about bitcoins was fact, indeed it was newas like 20.000 dollars, if you would have invested in 2009 ... but generally I can't copy that, recent news where mostly positive (including news about -fact- cras of btc after reachin 20k usd)

needs in journalists. visitors and spectators is the target to pursue reting. the more news the controversy the greater the reting they will rise. yes it is basically a journalist strategy and may involve local political interests.

Maybe because they are just being manipulated by someone who wants to take control or maybe they just want to spread fear so that people wouldn't bother to buy Bitcoin. And those manipulators will have the chance to buy more Bitcoins.

Yes it is true even i have seen social media and several other media people always talking negative about bitcoins.It may be because they lack knowledge about what bitcoins are or they are trying to bring down its value by spreading negative information about it.Few weeks ago i saw on one of the news paper that bitcoins crashed and the very next day morning the market value was just the opposite the price and the market value crossed 20K USD and later btc became the hot topic for every media then lot of people started showing interest on bitcoins and the once who said negative about bitcoins also said positive about it.Some governments even said that all should do investment on btc at their own risk and never blame government if then end up on loss.

One of the factor is the risk on investing bitcoin and some of them were paid media. They might be thinking that bitcoin is one of the scam investment company so that might be the reason behind as to why media is against on bitcoin.

It's because of the banks. The banks have a big voice in the world's economy. So they are very powerful. They don't want to lose that power. Also, the fact that they want to keep the control of all the money in the world. But we will win!

Have you ever wondered why we always see 95% negative news in the news and newspapers?
Because it is far easier to sell a story about a crazy murderer on the loose than about something nice and positive.
Another thing is fact that traditional media have no idea about bitcoin and are part of the old establishment.
They have no interest of promoting cryptocurrency at all, news networks are owned by people linked to the old school financial system.

It depends who you are watching and what you are reading. There is a lot of positive press too but the media tends to cling to opinions of the likes of Jaimie Dimon and Warren Buffet.

Quite honestly, I think the media likes to run negative stories because bitcoin is unregulated. The media sells fear and it is easy for them to portray bitcoin has the preferred currency of criminals.

There are different medias. Some of them is supporting in a positive way and some of them is strictly against. It seems like if this media is belong to the bitcoin holder than we see that media is supporting crypto currencies with all its broadcasts.

I saw quite a few new things about bitcoin before christmas, which were mostly negative. They were on uk's BBC news, which is just a propoganda machine. The establishment don't want us to have access to things like bitcoin, cos it gives us more indipendance from the system. If we have our own money we don't have to be reliant on them and we have the potential to have more freedom.

Interestingly the news about bitcoin, wether it's negative or not, is getting more people aware of it and to understand what it is. Although alot of the stories say about how bitcoin is a bubble and you could lose loads of money, there hae also been ones that say about the massive increase in bitcoin price, which will make people realise how profitable it can be.

But luckly more and more people are waking up to see that the "news" is just propoganda and are starting to look into things for themselves, so it hopefully won't have a negative effect on bitcoin.

Probably because media is being paid by the banks to do that thing,spreading misinformation to the people because cryptocurrencies are againts the bank system.Media are always getting paids from these acts,for example when the election is getting sooner these media are getting a lot of payments to set the mind of the communoty on whom they wanted to win in such elections.

Its not the media who are against on bitcoin but the government who handles them. Here in our country, you can see how obvious how the government are trying to manipulate the people's mind about this bitcoin, recently a television network here just reported that bitcoin is a scam , a wide and big scam. That network allegedly have a connection to a government.

Because they are all part of a centralised system in collusion with banks and politicians they are all supporting each other in a way and when something threatens there way of life and their control over the rest of us they go to their friends in the media and ask them to report stories that benefits them. Also most of the people that hold top media positions are ageing and are more used to the older financial systems that have been in place for much longer and don't care to trust newer ideas when it comes to their hard earnt money.

Every time when I was reading about bitcoin is some information about his price and furture or investment,in my country bitcoin is not famous many dont know nothing about bitcoin but media for now try to informe more peoples about his adventages especially his positive sides.

Not all media are against Bitcoin.. If there media details information about bitcoin, then it's a good news while if media details against Bitcoin, then it's a bad news for me, it's just their black propaganda or jealous to the success of bitcoin that they brainwashed the people to feedback negative about bitcoin.
