We all know that mobile phones are a delicate pieces of gadgets. As mining is a hectic task for computers, the devices we use should be able to sustain the load and be equally worth of resources at the same time. So for such a task, indeed they will serve us for a shorter period of time when we compare their service time with a PC.

There are some coins which can also be mined with mobile and one of those coins is ELECTRONEUM. I have read the reviews made by different users of electroneum mining app and they concluded that they get approx 5-6 electroneum coins per day. So with current market price it is less than 100 sat a day with internet, electricity and wear tare costs of the device. If why would someone risk the smartphone for just 6 elec a day?

So why companies advertise their coins with describing mobile mining as a benefit? Make your coin enough valuable that miners leave other coins for your coin mining. Or otherwise companies should leave this idea.
In my own personal opinion, mining phone exists because not everyone affords buying their own equipment that could be used in mining, that is why mining phone is only suitable for low budget people because it could still help them to earn even a small amount of profit. But mining phone is really not that profitable because it takes a long time for you to earn good money that it cannot make you rich.

Not a fan of mobile mining per se so I don't buy into the idea of any project adverting themselves as a mobile mining project. The thought of it alone is discouraging since I don't like over stressing my device especially when it has to do with things such device weren't built for. Commented on similar thread sometime back and just as I said then, supposedly the mobile manufacturing companies that have interest in cryptocurrency decides to work on producing a smartphone that can restand the workload of mobile mining then I might just pick interest in the concept.

The popular project I have encountered selling themselves as been associated with mobile mining aren't actually what they claim to be. The like of phoneum and electroneum aren't been mined on mobile per se.

I never mine coins on my phone, the first is that it's not secure, I don't want to have my information stolen. And the coins that are dug on the phone are almost worthless, and the coins mined by smartphones are also not the trend

Mobile mining is becoming more and more popular, if only because mobile devices are becoming more and more powerful every year.  Some of them already have powers equal to old personal computers.  With the development of technology in the future, mining on mobile devices will become commonplace.

I am so fucking sick of spammers talking shit all over the forum. Fuck you I hope they ban you from your signature.

If you took 5 seconds to do your research you will learn that elecetruem doesn't even mine it emulates mining. If you want real mininng then mine mib coin and plexu coins. This is real mining.
You are meant to mine with extra phones you otherwise do not use not your main phone. The amounbt of electricity it will use is nothing and you will profit. Cents every day = dollars every month so you do your own maths (which I see some people here are clearly not able to)

Mining via mobile will only damage the device and it's not worth it with the results i got after trying it a few months ago trying to mine. I don't recommend it and you will only get a few cents in 24 hours

Nice spam there buddy. Reported!!

How much would you like to mine with a phone? You are clueless. A phone uses almost no electricity and you can get cents each day. cents each day = $$ each month. If you have a few extra phones that means you could be making an extra $10-$30 a day just leaving your old phones on. Why would anyone fie a shit what you recommend anyway?

We all know that mobile phones are a delicate pieces of gadgets. As mining is a hectic task for computers, the devices we use should be able to sustain the load and be equally worth of resources at the same time. So for such a task, indeed they will serve us for a shorter period of time when we compare their service time with a PC.

Mobile mining exists to give people hope that they can also mine cryptocurrency! In reality, it's of no use! I have also tried to mine Electroneum and I was able to get only 2 coins after 24 hours of continuous mining. So I dropped the idea because I wasn't earning anything! Now a new idea has emerged in the market called "cloud mobile mining" and a crypto called Phoneum is leading the market! Again, it's a complete failure because the value of the coin is way too much less! We just end up burning the mobile battery and processor! Companies are showing it as a benefit because they just want to show ads to maximum number of people possible and earn some good amount of money!

You talking crap because phoneum doesn't mine all it does it check that you have opened the app once a week. Please don't spread misinformation thank you. Also as far as I know it has no value yet as it is not listed.

For those of you who still don't know Electroneum's "mobile mining" in it's app is not an actual mining process but just a simulation of it. The app doesn't actually use your hardware and the hashrate you see is just what they predict you will have based on your device's hardware. They already announced it in their website that they are just giving 3$ worth of ETN for their app and they intend to change the term to “cloud mining” which just justifies what they are doing which is really fake mining for its users. But even if your phone's hardware isn't used do you really think 3$ worth of ETN is enough for you to keep your phone running every day just to earn it? Your phone still gets damaged just by charging it to keep the app going now I'm no math genius but 3$ isn't going to cover the cost of your phone's electricity cost.

I was enjoying and argeeing with what you read until you started talking nonsense.

"3$ isn't going to cover the cost of your phone's electricity cost." lol hilarious *face palm and dies*

Here is some maths.

A phone charger uses 3-6 watts / hour. Let us say 5 watts it is easy to work with. 5x24=120watt 120watt = less than one cent and you are making 10 cents a day. Btw who said you were going to charge your phone for 24hours?? you will only charge it for about 2 hours and it lasts a day. Does your phone need to be charging all the time to use right now? NO!!! You even said yourself it is not real mining so it will not use much electricity to keep running. So actually it will cost less than 120watts a day. maybe 40 watts. 40x30=1.2kw and 1.2kw costs about $0.06-0.12 depending on where you live so you say $3 a month so tell me how it isn't worth it?
This is why you are not making money dude. You pass up opportunity all the time. Your phone i already going to be on anyway so why not run an app that might use like 1% extra power -_-

mining on mobile only leads to their destruction, they have too little computing power, electroneum only simulates the mining instead of pi network and uplexa really mine but consume and destroy the phone battery

Pi doesn't mine dude.... LOL very informative post.

CPU power on a smart phone is pretty powerful now a days but which is not designed to mine coins because continuous usage will damage any smarthphones if its working on its full potential. If anyone attracted by mobile mining have no knowledge about mining but they want to make some money so projects targetting them by giving fake promises and profits.

Company/ developer will take any chance to keep their project goes straight, even look's funny but they will. Customers will take any opportunity to create income, even look's bad they will do it. I'm not try to laugh but that's the fact and somehow even we know but still do stupid thing. So far I'll give salute into company/ customers that use their low speck device, minimum fund and no knowledge to keep try whatever they get. So let's become smart people, if you know better please let us know.

This is not the future of mining, just an interesting addition, nothing more. Mining with cellphone can be fun, but you are earning peanuts, moreover, those coins do not have value at all, just look at their prices on CMC.

Mining with mobile phone is a bad idea. Specially when the risk is greater than the possible outcome. On the other hand when a company let go their coin that easily that means that those coins are really valueless.

I am a fan of mobile mining simply because of the viability issue and i have not heard about the coin to make a comment and i am not sure about the viability of the coin but that been said you cannot use mobile to use your resources all the time and mining is meant to use your full resources and it will bring more damage to the hardware than the profit you can make.
Do you really think that can make you profitable? I don't think so, because it's just a waste of time and burdening your mobile device. Imagine if you had to work really hard just to get $0.01 a day for 24 hours. That's very bad right? Not a profit you can get, instead it can result in losses that can damage the hardware components of your phone because it will get very hot during the day nonstop while you are mining.

Although the price of a cheap smartphone can be used to mine ETN, I think it will be a waste of time, I don't see any long-term benefits on ETN, but why do many people who do that risk their smartphone being damaged only getting a few ETNs that may not necessarily replace your smartphone , this seems unfair in my opinion, I better use mining with my computer CPU

Trying to mine a crypto from mobile is a suicidal act for the hardware.
Electroneum on the other hand is not mining through mobile. It's just a mining simulator. It's an Electroneum faucet that gives you the sense of mining from mobile. It's not a resource heavy app. Pi is a similar app that uses virtual mining to give you rewards in their tokens.
Funny if you consider how much Electroneum tries to make it look like they are the coin for mobile mining.

In my experience, another issue is algo security. You can't claim that an algo can be mined only with mobile CPUs and be 100% sure about it, or that it'll never be abused or cracked, unless it's some closed source disaster of course.

5 Electroneum per day is about 24hours of mining Electroneum with a mobile phone. I wonder what mobile phone will survive such intensive task on the phone processor.
Well, if an Electroneum miner keeps his mined coin long-term, they could be worth something in the future.

They exist because the developer think also the very affordable in many users worldwide then this mobile mining is to promote their own alts/tokens and for me this is really good to do but still it depends in the potentials of the alts/tokens like they will grow by that,Moreover if you know honey miner then this is the best mobile mining in the past like this have big impact in the price of their alts when they use this

There are rarely any app of a legit coin that actually mines in the mobile. Tau mining app seems to heat my phone and could be on of the exception.
Every other popular mining app like Electroneum, Pi and Phonium are just the simulation. They don't really mine with user hardware.
Electroneum is a cryptonight coin and they use the premined coin dedicated to be distributed to reward a small amount to users for keeping their app active. The app does not mine any coins.
