Because they want to get rich in the fastest way,even the coin has no use at all they only want to get profits you can find greedy persons in the market like Roger Ver whos claiming his BCash as the real BTC.
There are so many coins, but many of them just a copy of anothers. Why they waste their time for nothing?

There are a lot of money to earn in this process.
Because there are plenty of people buying some coin from scam projects, so it means that as soon as a coin is hyped, more people will buy them.
The value will increase and the developpers will earn a lot. So no, ICO is not wasted time for those who create them, trust me

I think people are in droves, trying to make their own coin, because of money, it is clear they are talking about wealth, and also have a lot of real evidence of successful people from the world of cryptocurrencies
Some people created their own coins because they want to be famous and have a reputation in cryptocurrency world thats why people invest it to try if that coin can bring a bright future for them. Some reasons why they created their own because of money.
While I think it's just a way to make it easy. Even if the coin is no technology that does not mean that it will not buy.
Of course I would like to create a cryptocurrency, but I don't see such fluctuations are now taking place as to work in the real sector of the economy with them.

its not nothing, because when the new coins create, too people has claim some profit from some ICO that they get.
Almost all of us in this forum just get money from ICO's so the time was gonna waste but a time was more useful because we get heigher than were expect.
People want to attract money to develop their startup. And this is a normal situation. The bad news is that no one is responsible for your money. You can get a good profit, but you can lose everything. It is now fashionable.
Because this can be profitable...and this year we see many surprise started just with a litle airdrope like eBTC
Many causes, some really want to popularize their coin like any other coin, or they just make a temporary project and when they reach the target, they just disappear.
Well, it's all about the money, these developers know that there are certain coin that is created with the same idea of them, now they will pursue it and then become a scam. Some of them are legit but so many others are scams.
The reason always is money. Some people got serious ICO and invested in project others just create their own shitty coins to try get money fast.

I think that an ICO involves the creation of a currency. Unless it has become a standard ?
most of the people try to create coins because this is the future. However, there are scammers around so be carefull in what you invest. Good project will always have good credintials on icobench.com

Other cryptocurrencies besides ethereum and bitcoin were created primarily for profit, regardless of their main goal. Many ICOs are starting to boom since there are a lot of investors willing to take the risk into earning profit. Most of them aim to earn only for short-term due to the risks involved into participating into these coins. But before you invest, make sure that you do your research in order to avoid scamming, as it is rampant nowadays.

I am tired of all this "pump and dump" coins traded on Poloniex and Bitrex, etc.. This "empty" coins exist only for sake of pumping and abandoning. Hundreds of such coins are there. This coins are not backed by any active development team, or backed by sensible product, service or investment fund.
Time came for a new wave of more "sensible" coins/tokens.

In this world, why we do something that we do? Simple because we are getting some sort of benefit from it. From all kinds of benefits, which one is the most wanted by people? Simple, benefit that has a shape of money. We all need money to fulfill our needs and desires. People find a way to earn this money by introducing new coins and no doubt they earn from it also.

Yeah some are scam. However altcoins are trending these days so there were some expert of their field trying to go with the trend. They make their own coins with catchy name. Let's call them the trend follower.
