Bitcoin is a form of crypto currency so people prefer to use it on online transactions where there is internet means. In the world of technology it does not depend on tangible material like fiat. So no doubt that bitcoin prefers such transactions. But there's something pretty pertinent about bitcoin that has a future where people are looking for developments for them to invest and generate more for future goals. So as traders and investors choose to use bitcoin in transacting.
We already know that Bitcoin is a big industry that can reach people of all countries and Bitcoin can be a new currency for every one. Bitcoin has negative aspects such as positive aspects. But I think that the positive side is more. Bitcoin is widely used in porn sites, gambling and drug dealing sectors, but it is not that Bitcoin is bad, we should not use it. I agree with you in your last statement that bitcoin changed the financial condition of many people. I for one is a living witness of it. Bitcoin gives me a financial security and freedom at the moment. With the amount of money I have, I could stop working for 3 years and still do the things I usually doing but I won't do that, I will continue to accumulate for the future.
Some people prefered bitcoin over fiat is because Bitcoin’s value rises with every new person who discovers its abilities.Bitcoin cannot be killed, no matter how many obituaries the mainstream tries to write for it. Because there many advantages that Bitcoin can offer that fiats cant. The anonimity, being decemtralized and the time and effort to make every transaction. There could be no limiting factor when you buy or sell with bitcoins. Its really easy to transact with bitcoins because in a few clicks, any transaction can be done.
Even though there are talks of decentralization and others, the reason why people always seemingly prefer bitcoins over fiat is because of bitcoins has the ability to grow in value and when this happens it makes those who invested in it very rich.
I think this depends on the need, people prefer bitcoin because hoping to get a big profit in one day, they think that the price will continue to rise while the cash was never changed value.
I don't think they prefer bitcoin over fiat, they are just loving what bitcoin can give to them, but if you would let them choose not still they would choose fiat over bitcoin. but of course we are also open for the possibilities that bitcoin will become eventually embrace by our government so that eventually people will embrace it.

Maybe it is because Bitcoin gives them profit which fiat can't since it has a dtable market value. The market price of Bitcoin is continuously growing as years are passing by so its users are also investors becsuse Bitcoin is considered to be a profitable investment due to high rate of increase on its value.
We don't need to compare bitcoin with fiat money, because 99% of people would choose the fiat money over bitcoin. As far we know, bitcoin is going to provide a very good source of income for the people and it's price is also very high than any other currency because when you start investing here it can change your life.
Just like you, I also hate any abuse of Bitcoin for unscrupulous actions, Whatever the form. This is a weakness because Bitcoin is universal, anyone can use and have Bitcoin. Therefore, many Exchangers now verify documents with KYC (Know Your Client), so that future misuse of Bitcoin and Altcoins can be avoided and easily tracked.
We can't control everyone, everyone has different-different likes and dislikes. If somebody wants to use his btc for gambling they can use because there is no restrictions. People give priority to btc over fiat because in my opinion bitcoin ROI is very high in the recent time & on the other hand btc moves aggressively I think that's the reason why people prefer btc rather than fiat.

It is very disgusting that people who are involved in bitcoin use it as medium to illegally transact under the table. But let us also try to see the good side of bitcoin that makes people choose this. Bitcoin is hassle-free and very convenient for country to country transactions. Also, this is very applicable to what we call the post modern generation where almost everything is being done in just one click. As for fiat, their are rules there that make as transaction more complicated, more fees charged and people to talk to.
i prefer Bitcoin over fiat because can wake up and find my money growth.also we have ATM machine can get cash fast.
Some people prefer bitcoin over fiat because on some places bitcoin is tax free. I guess it's not bad to use bitcoin for something as long as you're not breaking any law/rules from your place. There's much more misuses of btc but if we continue this discussion it's getting kinda off topic when the title is about bitcoin and fiat.
The major factor why some people prefer bitcoin over fiat is for being decentralized and limited, because it is hard for government to trace and impose taxes from it.Bitcoin transactions are anonymous and there is no third party that can, in any way manipulate with anybody's transaction.
In addition,in Bitcoin,anyone can pay a very small transaction fee in every transactions. The transaction is secured and faster, that is why they choose bitcoin.
