I think this depends on the need, people prefer bitcoin because hoping to get a big profit in one day, they think that the price will continue to rise while the cash was never changed value.
Some people prefer bitcoin over fiat because on some places bitcoin is tax free. I guess it's not bad to use bitcoin for something as long as you're not breaking any law/rules from your place. There's much more misuses of btc but if we continue this discussion it's getting kinda off topic when the title is about bitcoin and fiat.
There are some reason why they prefer to used bitcoin than fiat. The first reason why they prefer to used it is the price because bitcoin has high value on online market. Furthermore, some people prefer to used it because they could used as their job where they could gain high salary.
Today, we can not please many people to those who are among the best of these two. Obviously, even till now the group still puts a stock in Fiat and a similar thing with Bitcoin. Despite the fact that bitkoyn here and there was used as part of some illegal exercises, but at the same time ends more well-founded in the light of the request of the group in Bitcoins
Bitcoins is good for long term investment rather than fiat and why ? , Because the value of bitcoins is increasing periodically unlike fiat that needs to be placed on the banks and the monthly rate of increase is very low unlike in bitcoins that is high.
Well, bitcoins are pieces of digital code and decentralized information. Bitcoin are not being debased now or in the future. The skill set of a Bitcoin makes them the most versatile currency in the world.

People choose bitcoin over fiat for an array of advantages bitcoin can offer which fiat can not. And if the advantages of fiat which bitcoin don't have can be addressed, then maybe people will only use bitcoin and never use fiat anymore.

yes the misuse of the use of Bitcoin really hurt the users of Bitcoin.because Bitcoin was created to facilitate payments in society instead of being used for crime.
People will not be interested in storing large amounts of fiat money, bank interest only 8% a year but inflation is 5% a year, so they only get of 3% a year.
Low transection fees is what attracts me to bitcoin and along with the fact that. I can stay anonymous once it. My country dosen't modify bitcoin as of still. So even that helps to an extant.
