Its natural for politicians to lie in the first part of their campaign, its for the purpose of gaining people's votes. What else could they do but to glitteringly state their plans for the country without certainty, most of their promises arent achieved and its really unfortunate how the people of the country hoped and believed of their promises and plans.

It is not that I am selecting a side, but I've experienced being close to a politician and it is a common nature to most of them.
Politicians especially in the start of elections, tell the people what they want to hear and what they want to see, because if they don't do that, they can't get their attention and support. But beyond their lies, they just want to help people, and they know they can do it but there must be some circumstances like lying.
I agree with many that all politicians lie only to come to power. They really do not want to take care of the country or the people, they care only about themselves and their family.
All Politicians lie, But Clinton and the whole clinton family are serial liars, they will see black and call it white, There is no truthfulness in the world of politics, The honest ones gets corrupted as times goes by. The one who promised change ended up becoming the very thing he sought to change, maybe he was all along and he lied his way to the oval office and started to dine with celebrities.
All politicians are not truthful to their followers and that is why we are facing many political problem around the world today. From my view most politicians create the problem our individual country are facing today through deception and liars. Trump is not the only deceptive politician most them are pure liars.

I think all politicians are liars. There is a history of trump flip - flopping on issues. But then again almost all other politicians do the same thing so I guess its status quo. if you ever go to vote then you automatically going to vote for a liar.
Not everyone, but may be 70% or 80% of them are liars. There are a lot of honest politicians out there, such as Bernie Sanders and Tulsi Gabbard. And I believe that if Sanders had won the POTUS elections in 2016 (i.e after winning the democrat nomination), then the world would have become a much better place to live for everyone.
I believe that all politicians are liars, because they constantly deceive people before the elections and do not fulfill their communications. They are only interested in enriching their pockets. No politician can give up the pleasure of robbing himself as much money as possible, instead of improving the economy of the country.

There is a contrasting question here. How do you know if he is a liar? Media nowadays just cover what's good to people's ear in terms of a politician. They cover up what these politicians did wrong. How can you tell if a person is a liar.

How do you know when a politician is lying? He opens his mouth.
We have been relegated to voting for the person who lies about the least important things.
Aren't all politicians liars, do we even have a choice? In their campaigns they promise us one thing and when they win the power they are doing something.completely different and at the end we all turn out to be fools.
One factor is what the media would show. Some politicians would tend to tell other side of an event to give more positive view on whatever they did. Voters on the other hand would want to hear something that can benefit them in the easiest ways
All politicians lie, because they are puppets. People do not even imagine what the secret government is thinking about and what directions politicians give. All chances of victory have long been resolved and only people are given the opportunity to take part in elections.
To the reason, most citizens were captivated to politician's sweet words instead looking and searching for more their background profiles. A lot would say all politicians are liars, yes because they are also human. But all we can do when we are voting is to vote and choose the best politician according to our research to their backgrounds, who loves his/her country and citizens. And last thing we can do to trust and pray for their judgement and plans to our country, cooperate on what they will implemented.

People always vote for those who say what they want to hear. In elections people don't vote with brains. They vote with their ears. Therefore, in policies never get honest people. It is the poor quality of democracy, but nothing better has yet been invented.

I agree. Politicians make promise to people just for nothing. They just give them hope but when already at the position, they just forget everything.
