I think your experience could serve as a motivation to lower ranking members especially to someone like me who takes my time to learn from senior ranking members and get motivated by their achievements, including mode of writing and constructing posts, it's every members dream to get to the highest rank.

However, I'm not in a rush, cause I've noticed that rushing to rank up or earn more merits to rank up could cause one to make mistakes that could end them in a mess, so I'm not in a haste, I'm dedicating my time in learning more about the forum, it's a very big space and I think there's more to be learnt so why rush to rank up when I'm still yet to understand the forum better.

For instance I love games, sports and I'll love to post in the gambling board more often but I don't think thats necessarily for now cause I'll still have enough time to post there when I'm a position to join campaigns that requires one to post very often in the gambling board, so it think I'll need to focus more on understand Bitcoin and how to avoid errors that could put me in a big mess here in the forum.

I saw here, how high-ranking members would be the first to get included in the best signature campaigns. I would feel frustrated as a newbie as I felt irrelevant and ignored as my rank was not that good so was my reputation.
Some campaigns give participants same pay rates from Senior Member to Hero, Legendary member ranks so ranks mean more for below Senior member ranks and in general, there is nearly no difference between Hero member rank and Legendary rank in most campaigns.

Many reasons to want ranking up like have a higher rank badge, more coins on the badge, the rank title. Chance to wear bigger signature with bigger limitation on maximum characters in the signature space. It is cool feeling when I wear a signature for Senior member rank than for Full member rank.

Chance to enjoy better pay rate in campaigns with higher ranks is another thing for wanting to rank up.

What I am trying to say is this isn't entirely about being part of signature campaign, even though if there is no signature campaign I would say my goal will be achieving the legendary cause it's a symbol that only certain people can achieve, not talking about pre merit system era but since that it's rare and only handful people managed to achieve.
It's more on dedication, its rare because it takes time or years to achieve it, knowledge to share via topic/replies. And yes, there are only few legendary members get that rank after the merit system was introduced.

The higher the rank better the recognition will be in general,

Of course, it's not entirely true cause some low-ranked members can create attention with their exceptional technical skills but I am not that kind of intellect, I am just an average Joe who is trying to contribute in any way I can and legendary is the highest rank that a user can achieve (for now) so it's always on my goal list sooner or later I am on the journey towards it but not making it in a hurry or desperate to get merits in all these years.
Well, partly it’s true but we all know even if you have a lower rank, you can still be recognized in the forum with your high quality and valuable posts. But if you have plans to participate in any reputable campaign, then getting a higher rank is a must for you so you will be accepted and get a higher compensation. Above all, it’s always better to see progress in your rank or position every now and then, so that you will be motivated to move forward along with your knowledge and skills that you consistently work to gain.

There are times when newcomers to the forum are not believed because of their lack of qualifications or their words are underestimated. The main reason for this is that it is not detected at first if he is a cheater. As he slowly began to gain skills, he began to speak his words more confidely to everyone on the forum. But there are many who are desperate to qualify to join Signature Captains because only a certain rank up can join the Signature Campaign. But those with real talent never run to rank up, rank runs after them.

When i first started posting in the forum everyone used to disregard what newbies said and would always refer to newbies as tho they have no knowledge or relevance in the forums I started wanting to earn merits and rank up to have a better reputation on the forum and also signature campaigns.

Ultimately, I would like to say to everyone new to the forum. Believe in yourself and believe in what you can achieve. In some time you will see yourself where I am.

Yes, but of course, also put in the work. We see a lot of low ranks with near-zero merit with hundreds in activity — whereas all they do is post and post just hoping to receive at least a single merit; refusing to address the actual problem — the lack of knowledge. A lot of them simply refuse to educate themselves for some reason.

Life is full of opportunities and only those that ran into it will earn any other benefits that comes from it, there is no one that is not bound to grow, its only a matter of choice, have we decided to for the perfection in everything that we do or we are just part of the random users who don't care about improving how they are living their usual ways, everyone of us have the same equal opportunity if we utilized them rightly, learning never ends, we can achieve what we want from the start of what our minds can conceive.

doesn't the average person who plays on forums have the goal of ranking up? i think that the majority of people in the forum will answer that they want to rank to get various privileges, unlock some features, increase their reputation, want to contribute and be heard more. and for me personally, i want to increase my rank because i want my reputation to be better in this forum, since the higher your rank, the more respected you will be by the majority of users in this forum. however, achieving this is not easy because climbing from the bottom to the top is quite difficult because you need to get a lot of merit and have quality posts.

That's what I was about to say: although it's not always necessary, a large number of legendary users are deemed reputable and recognized members of this forum. Certainly, there are others who had ranked up before the merit system was introduced and may still post gibberish despite their rank.

Generally, ranking up provides you with benefits such as the ability to enter signature campaigns and pursue better pay rates. Personally, at this point, I don't have a specific reason why I'd want to rank up; an upper rank wouldn't guarantee me a higher pay, and it's not that I care if I can make $40 more per month; it's not my priority nor a goal of mine; I just like the title "Legendary," which speaks for itself.

This is actually a Good question @op. Outside the forum ranking up in life is very essential and vital because it depicts progress and improvement. Virtually everyone in this world wants to change his or her status and that can only be achieved by moving from one position to another which is ranking up.talking about the forum there are different ranks which can be achieved by earning merits and everyone in the starting from the newbies wants to grow higher to another rank by making a quality post or contribution. Just like you asked and I don’t know for others I want to rank up so as to show that I am making impact in the forum and also understanding the forum progressively.

Going back to the topic of what the purpose of ranking up is, at first it was just a challenge that I needed to go through and had to reach the highest Rank.
But when that was achieved, it wasn't the end, and the High Rank had a lot of responsibility to keep evolving.

There are many accounts with high Rank, but in the end they are not used and are unproductive because there is no useful activity on the forum.

I wouldn’t say that signature campaign here isn’t part of the motivation to user to get ranked up, that will be a blunt lie, not all can be the same but it certainly a motivation here that get some user to rank up and start earning incentives.

But regardless of that most people will try to rank up to the highest possible rank in the forum. Because it’s kind of a thing of pride to actually go high in rank in every knowledge environment it simply means your are definitely growing. We have seen members who have achieved high ranks but still strive to go higher in the number of merits earned because to them it sets them above everyone and that’s human nature. So to me the ability to be above others is always a driving tool to rank up not only in this forum but everywhere

Obviously I want to rank up because I see in order to participate in signature campaign that pays good require at least Full Member, the higher your rank, the higher possibility someone can earn more. If signature campaign wasn't my objective, I would take off my signature and join WO gangs.

I do like writing, but I do value my effort and time I spent.

To hell with the signature campaign, even if the signature campaign didn't exist, i would still be here
Oh, really? I will wait till your campaign ends and let see how's your posting habit after you didn't in any paid campaign.

To hell with the signature campaign, even if the signature campaign didn't exist, i would still be here, this forum is a forum created by Satoshi and there are lots of great people with great thoughts here too.

I was a newbie a few months ago, and currently i have learned more about bitcoin because of this forum, the only reason i want to go to a higher ranking is because i want to know how much influence i can have for this forum, how much my knowledge about bitcoin is great and how many people i can help with the knowledge i get.

Almost everyone pass through that phase , at first when i newly registered in to this forum everything where literally looking strange and confusing, so I try to blend in without having much knowledge, but things didn't turn out well for me , which lead to my account slowing in growth till I got to a stage where I my account growth hook . So I was force to restrict my self from posting all the time and focus more on learning, so after taken such decisions I began to see the beauty of this forum, not only that the beauty of investing in Bitcoin also. Then same time my account was undergoing some nice turn around, with time my account began to grow while I kept learning more and there are still much to learn .

So what am trying to say is that , there's no shortcuts to this , we just have to take our time learn more and find the part we are good on and find ways to contribute more to the forum , by impacting on others and by doing other related stuff.

Ultimately, I would like to say to everyone new to the forum. Believe in yourself and believe in what you can achieve. In some time you will see yourself where I am.
This is true Newbies just have to maybe improve and believed in themselves, just be focused, stick to the forum rule and then continue to make quality post.

Most Newbies get discouraged from the fact that they think they're writing a quality post that's merit worthy but are not getting any which maybe because of their lack of knowledge to see the post is not really a quality one or it maybe likely true but they have to worry much since there are good thread where quality posts can be reported for merit, [self-moderated] Report unmerited good posts to Merit Source

I was at first discouraged as most Newbies when I joined this forum but with time and thank God I read this post Ranking up is possible! 2900 Merits earned in less than 12 months! My 11 Hints!everything became easier, I had to spend time learning, asking questions and then earning merit.

Yeah this was one of the post that also motivated me to keep on striving, and I believe that it can also help alot of newbies at there too. And the funny thing is that once in a while I normally visit this same thread by fillippone  Smiley just as I once said I still got alot to learn .

If you look at how campaign rules work, Those at the top don't always get a spot or get a piece of the signature campaign.

This depends on how one can develop and not be too monotonous on the account used.
Managers take into account how well and useful you are at creating posts and earning Merit in the last 120 days,
which is a mandatory criterion that needs to be considered.

I myself follow a lot of signature campaigns from several different managers and I see how @Hhampuz updates the Campaign Members,
he manages to make room for others who are more deserving and replace those who can't thrive and just do Habit Posts without any effect.

I am asking a simple question as I see many topics dedicated to ranking up or suggesting ways.

From my thoughts as a newbie, I wanted to rank up because I wasn't wasted and neither I believe that I cannot get into the rank that I am in as a Hero member. It was a tough journey & had a lot of adventures! It is a cycle that everyone here who joined after merit system went through.

I saw here, how high-ranking members would be the first to get included in the best signature campaigns. I would feel frustrated as a newbie as I felt irrelevant and ignored as my rank was not that good so was my reputation.

I then realized earning was not that a big problem as bounties were a big thing in my time. Even after working for bounties, getting ranked up was a big challenge, so I started focusing on my skills. I am not a developer, still I made it with my skills of writing.

I was first introduced to gambling being part of a gambling signature campaign. I loved it and decided to learn how gambling works in cryptocurrency. Lost a little amount while learning then decided to venture into sports betting.

I am making a decent extra earning with sports betting and now I have been working on trading. Life doesn't give you success on a plate and that is how my trading part is working for me.

Ultimately, I would like to say to everyone new to the forum. Believe in yourself and believe in what you can achieve. In some time you will see yourself where I am.
