I do think there is some direct relationship between the dumping of the coins recently and the hard-fork of the Bitcoin on 1st August. The price is up and down as normal, if you think some coins is valuable, just hold it.
I think that is completely rational and reasonable to think that BTC will go down till 1st of August and then we will see what happens.
And most of the altcoins will go down with it.
But while observing the prices this logic is not completely true .
1) Look at the last 24 hours, BTC was dropping but ETH was going up like crazy.
Any explanations for this ?
2) LTC remained relatively stable , going considerably down only in the past hour or so .
I have heard a lot of that LTC seemingly is a choice for many moving investments from btc to ltc. Do someone has explanation for this ?

I think not only the media are involved in that, many other players are also participating, segwit will start and end on the 1st of August, suggest me leave all the bitcoin transaction activity on that date and keep all your coins in a safe place, make sure All safe. Then wait for it to end after August 1st.
In august first there will be Segwit ( segregated witness) 2.0 will going to implement in that current block size 1 mb will increase by splitting 2 blocks so may chance of splitting bitcoin like happened ether after hardfork eth and etc.
The altcoins will continue to go down until 1st August because this time for the activation segwit2x on bitcoin's network,

True true. I totally agree with you. Bloodbath is wellcome to buy some more at low prices. I am not afraid at all a out BTC not getting pumped again in August as well as all the other altcoins. People are scared about implementation of new platform the same way as they were of millenium bug 😁. Lot of panic for nothing (but as I said is wellcome).
August 1 is a rumor stating Bitcoin will split into two that's why some are panic selling their Bitcoins as earlier as now. And as bitcoin goes down so will some altcoins too. If that is the case and the coins are decreasing before August 1 then I think it is an opportunity for some who have the budget to buy coins while they are on sale.

It has a chances sir that prices of altcoins will go down until august 1 but for me, it will not go down all the time, it will go up also but it will go down again. The movements of altcoins are fast swinging.
As we see know even yesterday the bitcoin price graph were changing every time. We may experience such event until August 1,it will only 2 weeks left and things might get fine and we can continue on our activities like in trading and investing by that time.

Actually this is all happening due to pump and dump only because sudden down in the price of the Bitcoin was the reason of the pumpers and dumpers .Is it safe to say they'll continue to drop till the end of the month and then rebound in August?

Well here the main thing is that we need to go through the better ways where we can make estimate and can get idea whether the will go down or not and what are the limits where we should stop buy and sell the particular coin.
So make analyse himself about the coins and then decide that how much you can make profit and loss .

We likely hit the bottom this past weekend. If not there will probably be 1 more dump before the 1st imo.
LITE coin has stayed stable. I think some can survive into the Fall.
Apparently, Segwit is accepted by BTC miners, this is impacting Bitcoin price positively.
