It's now 10 years since Bitcoin was created, yet many people are wondering who Satoshi Nakamoto might be. It's still today, where the creator of Bitcoin has hidden his/her identity well from the general public. All attempts in finding who created the world's most popular cryptocurrency have failed so far. But we all know that there's no such thing as 100% anonymity. A slight error in covering tracks, could expose your identity within the mainstream world.

Now, imagine if the real Satoshi's identity is found. If he/she is still alive, governments would be on his/her tail to put him/her in jail or even pay a hefty sum of taxes. Once this happens, Bitcoin might fail within the mainstream world. Of course, the community is what makes Bitcoin great. But I'm sure that the reveal of Satoshi's identity will have an influence (either positive or negative) over the cryptocurrency's price and reputation worldwide.

What are the odds of Bitcoin's survival once Satoshi is found? Will it continue to operate as is? Or will it fail in the long run? Huh
If the identity of satoshi was ever revealed then nothing will happen, his creation is now completely outside his control, even if he made a statement against bitcoin or how he does not like the direction it took it will be too late, however what it could cause a severe crash of the market is if satoshi still has access to his private keys, it is said that he has one million bitcoins and if governments could confiscate them they will become most likely the biggest holder of bitcoin in the world and could do whatever they wanted with the price.

SatoshI Nakamoto is still unknown and no one knows what the real identity of bitcoin creator.  And if satoshi nakamoto reveal or someone knows her real identity i think the positive things will happen is bitcoin price will increase because, and the negative impact of this are bitcoin price dump or manipulation because some evil people will jailed Satoshi.
Is there really a factor for bitcoin to increase if incase satoshi will be revealed his identity? I don't think that it has some sort of effect or anything that might trigger its price. The same as putting him in jail. There is no actual reason and what sort of case will be filed against him? Nothing, right?

I dont think bitcoin will fail anytime soon because it is very well adapted and centralised in the cryptocurrency.Even if satoshi gets identified bitcoin will have nothing to do with it!

That pretty much says it all. Bitcoin is running as it is and will continue to run whether Satoshi is found or not.

I think we don't really know what's really going to happen if the real Satoshi Nakamoto was found and still alive. It could have bad and it might have good effects on the market.
But in my opinion, even if Satoshi Nakamoto was found and still alive I think it might not affect bitcoin so much since bitcoin is already starting to use in a lot of transactions and bitcoin technology is already starting to get implemented in a lot of countries globally. Honestly, it might have a good effect in the market since he was the creator of bitcoin a lot of users and investors could easily be influenced by him and also a lot of companies also will try to hire him.

I think the government cannot touch him since he doesn't do anything or any crime. Bitcoin is still going to operate I think the best example is it is just like the internet bitcoin was consist of a lot of things and it is also the decentralized system we cannot easily take it down like the internet it is going to be difficult to shut down the internet might be almost impossible.

Not about government asking him to pay taxes or whatever, it is more likely people will start losing their hope for Bitcoin as a complete decentralized things. Some people might follow whatever Satoshi says, the other might think that Satoshi are working with government to take any opportunity. Well, Of that happens, I do believe lots of people will only rely Satoshi words which make them lose the meaning of decentralization.

If ever that the government will found out who Satoshi Nakamoto will be in any identity, it will be too late and seems to be no sense anymore because Bitcoin is already a well-known and rising cryptocurrency which is known for being decentralized ever since it was exposed or presented to the public. But it might be possible that once found out, Satoshi Nakamoto will be facing a lot of cases including payable taxes he must paid for the government and individual responsibility. But I guess, the main reason why he/she remains anonymous is to protect his/her own identity of course so that his/her life will be far from danger since Bitcoin is a well popularized cryptocurrency of all times. I think exposure of Satoshi Nakamoto's real identity will not be a concern of the government nowadays because we are still into facing a lot of circumstances in the world that is needed to pay more attention rather than keep on trying to trace someone because of his/her anonymity for creating a well-known cryptocurrency. If ever found out who Satoshi Nakamoto is, I think it will no longer take a great impact to Bitcoin's journey and progress because it seems to be continuously operating and circulating due to the people's demand on wanting to use Bitcoin as a cryptocurrency. Also, the price and usage of Bitcoin gives a big impact that is why it is popular not because Satoshi Nakamoto created it so there will be no connection for Bitcoin's failure once his/her identity will be exposed.

Disclosure of satoshi ID will have zero impact on bitcoin future now. Governments may jail him or give him noble prize for this creation; in any case Bitcoin won’t be impacted. There are rumors that he committed suicide soon after mining first bitcoin but it’s still the biggest mystery of 21st century. Craig wright tried to solved this mystery but failed.

If Satoshi is found, there is also a part that affects Bitcoin but letting Bitcoin fail is impossible, because now Bitcoin is held and used by many people to exchange and valuable. Satoshi's influence on Bitcoin is not so great now, and if Satoshi appears, not many people know exactly who it is.

In my opinion, He clearly went into hiding to avoid being thrown in a cage or tortured by nation states, so I guess he'll be back when the governments are either uninterested or unable to do, or simply no longer present. that means bitcoin has to "win" first, or we'll never hear from Satoshi again. Thereby, talking about failing Bitcoin is meaningless, because Satoshi won't show himself before that day.

No, I think Bitcoin will never fail. I hope Bitcoin doesn't hurt if Satoshi is found. Bitcoin will continue to do just that. In 10 years, Bitcoin did not have any problems. Hopefully, there will be no trouble in the future. However, I do not know what will happen to Satoshi if he finds out. However, I hope Bitcoin lover will support Satoshi. Because Bitcoin has improved financial transactions.

Thank you

There won't be any such implication if Satoshi is found. The reason why he got anonymous is that he created a whole new monetary landscape that directly challenges the conventional form of monetary landscape which involves banks and government. At that time given the regulations and uncertainty, hiding his identity was not a wrong step. But now if he actually comes in front of people. He will be welcomed. Instead of Bitcoin going down, it will grow given the sudden hype.

I don't think the price will necessarily fall if Satoshi is found.  However, if the Bitcoin addresses that are supposedly attributed to him are used, then the price would drop because there would be the potential that the market would be flooded with new Bitcoins.

Even if Satoshi mentioned that he might tap into those Bitcoins, it could make the price drop.

Is there a list available that claims to show addresses owned by Satoshi?
It's quite hard for someone to create such a list as we can't really identify which address really belongs to Satoshi. First mined blocks are the only target to identify some of them according to this quote from Hal Finney :
When Satoshi announced the first release of the software, I grabbed it right away. I think I was the first person besides Satoshi to run bitcoin. I mined block 70-something, and I was the recipient of the first bitcoin transaction, when Satoshi sent ten coins to me as a test.
As we can see, at least the first 60 to 70 blocks were mined by Satoshi and the addresses belong to him. You can check them using any blockchain explorer : https://www.blockchain.com/btc/block/1 This is the first block which should be unspendable output as set by Satoshi in the bitcoin protocole.
Some researchers found that Satoshi mined by himself from block 0 upto block 36288.

I don't see why Bitcoin would go down if we find Satoshi Nakamoto's identity. It might rise to new heights in the same way. But I don't see why it would show itself now if Satoshi managed to keep himself hidden until now. Perhaps he's going to decide to show himself before he goes on to linger in the background, but that's a guess. Would be curious to find out who he is

If Satoshi has ever been identified, Bitcoin will have a huge impact. It will be one of the biggest news in the history of Bitcoin and this could have a positive effect on the price of Bitcoin. That's my own viewpoint, but I see it's going to bring good news. Everyone would be excited with the discovery of the Creator's identity, but for Satoshi, it might be difficult for him because he might be threatened by those people with bad intention and the government that will prosecute him and so on.

That sounds funny. How could Satoshi have to be jailed for taxes? lol He created the Blockchain and Bitcoin ecosystems to make it easier for everyone to transact and store assets in digital form. Indirectly, he even changed the lives of many people from Bitcoin.

What are the odds of Bitcoin's survival once Satoshi is found? Will it continue to operate as is? Or will it fail in the long run? Huh
Bitcoin will continue to survive even if this happens. All the technology in it is something that will make Bitcoin survive. Of course, with the development of the existing utility.

I am sure some idiot would try to kill Satoshi and try to demoralize Bitcoin holders by making a martyr out of him. I doubt though that would do anything to compromise its existence due to it being so decentralized and will be mined long after his death I guess anyway. There would probably be some commotion and FUD caused to help get rid of weak hands again so a group of whales can stock up again. I very much doubt Bitcoin would die if Satoshi was ever found but that is just my guess.
