I've seen that most people are talking about nukes here. Regardless my personal opinion about earth's nuclear arsenal a World War is ready to start at any day. Reasons behind it tend to be actually only 1> the never ending hunt for power backed by greediness.
In addition to that I won't analyze who's right and wrong, we all know that USA is a world class cancer with it's fiat bs backed by smaller cancers carrying on the print ops (printing money=making people poorer by the minute). So the actual question is, will a war make irreparable damages to the communication cables carrying our beloved internet or will it not? Accompanied by>will we still be able to buy/sell Bitcoins using gold or not?

Answering the above 2 gives you a nice glimpse of the possible future
And here are your hints:

1) 95% of the Earths com cables pass bellow the Baltic sea, giving Russians a nice edge if anything's about to happen (they can shut down everything just by chopping those coms  )

2)In the event that Russia is too nice to fuck the world when everyone attacks them like pussies will our rulers allow us to use the www and if not while we manage to set up nodes to run tor in bigger capacities, will we be able to buy gold using our Bitcoin?

I believe that the 3rd world war will be more informational than weapons.
Nuclear war will not exist. I am inclined to think that the war will be between Russia and the West. And as you know, all Russian politicians, businessmen, government officials and MPs,have family and appartments in Europe. Naturally they do not want to lose it.

Copy of blockchain is one thing. I guess someone somewhere in his shelter will have plenty of blockchain copies. But assuming that humanity will survive somehow (because WW3=most likely nuclear holocaust).
I doubt that bitcoin after that war will have any value at all. If you are familiar with the Fallout universe you know that after a war, pre war dollars are useless, and bitcoin will be more that useless.

So yes, blockchain will most likely survive somewhere (I don't know if there will anyone able to use it though) - bitcoin network, not so much.

Yeah agree with this , bitcoin will survive if more smart people still alive if world war 3 will happen,but there is no sense to start world 3 many innocent will die.

It can only survive if we have internet and computers, if WORLD WAR THREE blows everything out of the water then bitcoin, along with the rest of us will be toast.

As we are in the new Information age, if Bitcoin is as secure as everyone on this forum says it is, it could be attacked many times, it might survive, it might not. The blockchain will survive though.

Depends on whether humans will survive. If yes, depends on whether they're aware of BTC. If yes, depends if they still have copies of the software and blockchain.

If humans don't survive, technically BTC will still survive since there will definitely be copies of the blockchain and software somewhere deeply hidden and protected, but we can never be sure.

It is difficult to say anything before time since bit coin is a currency and has no hold on the life of people and no influence on world politics so no one can predict if bit coin will survive after ww3 since we would not know if internet will be available after ww3 or not ?

I honestly do not think the bitcoin will survive this because the bitcoin is a currency and its fully digital.
I think if the WW III comes the whole internet will go down soon or later.

I'm sure that after each war, even World war, someone will survive (in some deep caves ) but I'm not sure that Internet will survive complete disaster of the planet earth, and that survivors will care about it or Bitcoin.
I feel that you are very idealistic if you believe that we will not have another World war because people are very good.

We had WW I and WW II and also WW III (Cold war) but reason why WW III didn't become ''hot'' war is very simple: ''No guarantee for victory''.
WW IV is also possible with terrorist like ISIS and if this happen, please believe me, nobody will care any more about any bitcoin.

If ww3 breaks out then biggest question is if humen will survive ? Bitcoin no doubt has stable future but on other side i am hopeful there will never be any ww3 since all people of the world are very good and wise and reject such ideas.

The chance is higher that Bitcoin is going to survive it and that you are going to die if there will be ever a world war III.
Bu the chance is really small that it can happen.

There is nothing to fear thinking about the survival of bitcoin. Bitcoin has got the potential to grow in a short term, likewise now its very strong to survive for a long term.

First of all there will be no WW3 and if it really happens the bitcoin has a power to survive even  in a tough situation like this, so nothing to worry.

In all the circumstances, bitcoin will survive in the world war, if humanity survives.  Bitcoins has better feature of survival in any situation as compared to the Fiat.
So it is no danger of ending, even in a war situation.

That is if the world will not do the classic conventional war...We are in almost total destruction if it happens.. that way bitcoin along with human will die..


If the whole world will engage in war, then there is a possibility that internet would also be cut, but if only in a certain places war occur, then I think bitcoin will survive on the other side of the world not affected by war..
