Hi,

Just wondering if you guys will stay in crypto (aka hold or sell your BTC holdings) if the price does not recover.

Lets say we are still around 6k-7k by December 2018 => Will you wait it out or give up and say "OK, we had a nice ride but we are not going up again"?

What about if in 2019 price is still hovering around 6k-7k and there is no sign of recovery to 10k+ (or even a new ATH)

This is not making sense. Where will you find a "thing" that worth $6k to $7k a piece***?

Just imagined, I started at $200+ price level where $1,000 is just a dream price and now look at the current price. And even that will happened, expect that there are price swings on the process and will not just stay on the price level like that.

Why should I left in the first place with that value? Those newbies that enter the game on 2017 was used to experienced always a price increase that's why in the event that a price crash will happened, all their expectations wrecked due to lack of knowledge about how price behaves.

There's so many reasons to stay and continue the journey in the crypto world. If this will not go up it doesn't mean that it already dead. The price can not recover in just a little rebound as this will take a long process to make a good rally. Be patient, it's good to be optimistic in this situation.
You are right, we must think positive. I know bitcoin's value will eventually mark up and possibly higher thank 20k usd

Where is my ring of blades...
nobody can deny that they are liking the price rise that bitcoin has and we have all bought, earned and held bitcoin at least partly because of the price rise. there is no doubt in that. but if anybody had this as their only reason to have bitcoin then they don't really know what they have. they might as well own some rocks and call them bitcoin and trade those! and such people shouldn't even "stay in bitcoin"!

The price will recover. It's just a question of time.
However let's assume it wouldn't recover. Well there wouldn't be any reason to stay as the whole crypto space would collapse in a matter of weeks.
Without Bitcoin being replaced or surpassed by any other crypto coin the whole space can not survive. So if the number one would go down, due to lack of faith and future progress all the other coins will have no chance as well. Simple is that.

What ever happen to the price of bitcoin I really think I would stay but if it falls down to zero that will be the time to quit, But bitcoin will still be bitcoin even with a three digit value, There are still other choices that I think will start a good pump for other Altcoins, But still even if there are just a small price for bitcoin I think we can still earn, trade and invest with it.

If you're only buying Bitcoin for the price going up and not when it goes down, you've bought it for the wrong reasons.

All the wrong reasons. In fact you are part of the problem.

Go rethink your life.

There are many things that could change our daily routine in cryptocurrency. Whatever price could stay even it does not recover I will stay and support bitcoin. Why? Because it has proven that bitcoin can provide earnings by investing in it, and also good to have or stay as features applicable to all users.

well, this is simply impossible but i really hope some version of this actually happens for bitcoin.
because we are in dire need of a real flush out to get all the idiots who came in bitcoin last year out of the market. all the people who don't even know what bitcoin is! if  you ask them they will tell you "bitcoin is a magical thing that will make you rich over night" they don't even understand what a decentralized currency with a limited supply means!

if we see an stable phase they will get the hell out and we can continue with bitcoin on the same upward path until they run back to it at a much higher price.

In #Bitcoin me trust
I will be holding my Bitcoins until the world is ready for it Smiley Kiddin' of course but I believe in the future maybe in 5 to 10 years we will start to price goods or services in cryptocurrencies. For ex. if a tshirt costs 0.0001BTC today, it will cost same 5 days later... So, HODL as much as you can...

It's insane how people go nuts over something that is completely normal. People for some reason think Bitcoin should be hovering around $30,000 levels after everything that happened last year, while they completely ignore the fact that such levels don't even remotely mirror Bitcoin's utility value at this point in time. The price doesn't need to recover. The price needs to adjust itself to levels the market can comfortably maintain them. If we need to fall down further, even below the $6000 level, then so be it. Bitcoin didn't make a mega jump forward justifying such a significant increase in price. Price in January 2017 ~$1000. Price in January 2018 +$15,000. Does that sound reasonable or maintainable? Definitely not to me.

I know it's easy speaking for the more long term holders, but people should cut the market some slack. It's impossible for the market to keep up current levels with how many coins are being thrown into the market. The poor liquidity on exchanges just can't cope with the fierce selling pressure. On the other hand, these sales are great for the market in the long term. The higher levels gave old hands more incentive to unload their coins, making sure that at a far later point, they won't be forming that much of an obstacle anymore. The long term is what people should focus on. Collect bread crumbs right now, or stack loaves of bread later on. I go for the latter.

I've decided to stick to bitcoin whether the whole crypto market doesn't recover. Nowadays, most of the investors aren't thinking correctly. They are not investing for the technology and supporting it but they are only thinking about the profit. Yes, we are investing for the profit but the main reason why early investors bought bitcoin is to support the tech, the digital money/crypto era. But time flies so fast and it's now considered as an investment so they are thinking if it don't recover, they give up.

In both of those situations I will hold my bitcoin along with bunch of other altcoins and will keep purchasing more at discounted price. I am happy with everyday price swing which will never change regardless of price per bitcoin so atleast I will keep making some money with day trading on those days too.

So no I will not get out of crypto even if price will never recover from current downtrend.

Of course I will stay. 6k-7k is still a small dollar mountain for every bitcoin and it's 10-25x from the values when I start buying.

There are plenty of opportunities to make money even now.

Why would I give up? What's good for those who bought during early days and has kept some of bitcoins including me, there's no need to give up. I have profited enough and I'm good even how many years it takes to stay at $6,000-$7,000.

It's fine, bitcoin is volatile so we have to accept that but it always surprises us so don't think negatively.

$6-7000 is really a huge amount for bitcoin and i guess thats what it must be,bitcoin is only currency but it seems like its more expensive than gold so why would this needed to grow more than that?maybe this price is enough and if theres a chance for this to grow higher maybe it will happen if many investors will bet on this and bring this to moon again.

I will stay in the crypto community even if the bitcoin price goes under 1000 USD.
I`m not sure that the term "recover" is the right word that describes the situation. The BTC price is where it is.Bitcoin (or the blockchain) isn`t damaged or destroyed,so it`s doesn`t have to "recover".
All the "easy profit" seeking traders and investors will lose their money and they will just leave the crypto community, which might be something good for all the real crypto supporters.
