What will you do if after losing several times in gambling, you are left with only small amount of money and that money will be for your fuel or for transportation, will you still continue with the little you are left with? What if you lose?
I will not continue it if gambling several times give me lose. But now i am here then it is a proof that gambling not giving me lose several times, i will not say gambling is profitable for me, but i have no spend good time with it that is i am here and most of the time when i need money then gambling help me. So it is our luck and our experience then we decide to left it or continue it.
Maybe at the beginning of my journey as a gambler I can say I am profitable but in the long run I lose money like typical gamblers experience.
I realize in the end that I need to be extremely good in order to succeed in gambling.

many of us still continue playing gambling because they still want to try their luck and some of them is not thinking to be a winner and they only playing gambling to have fun. personally, I still playing gambling because of fun and I don't spend too much money in the gambling games because I know my chance to win is not big so it is better to enjoy the games only. I can spend my time with my friends in the gambling sites even if we are loss because we can use chat facility to talks with the other.
Those who claim to gamble for fun purpose only, it is easy to stop the game anytime they wish to. But just be honest, how many gamblers are actually able to do this. You can go around reading few threads in this section and you will come to know that even such people are unable to stop themselves at the right time. Which means gambling is addictive in nature. I firmly believe where there is money there is always attraction. 
Surely I will quite at that time. May be I will continue after a week or month. If we start to play after a loss surely you will addicted to gambling and you will lose huge loss.If you keeps on continue you will surely lose the entire holding money by just playing. Lol

Yes investing all your money in one kind of business is not a good decision, you need to distribute your investment in different places, through this way you can protect your investment to lose in one time. I think you need to keep some of your money with so that if you feel the need or in case of emergency you must have some money to solve your problems. Common sense too. That is why it is called as gamble! You take the risk to something that you are not sure with on what's gonna be the possible result.
But then, it is good too to be preventive. Some people have avoided to gamble because profit is not sure from it. Only those all time gambler are left to continue.
But what he have said was true, it could be called as a stupidity to continue gambling even though you know that you are losing too much, you are just fooling yourself. Maybe it hit a nerve to you that is why you oppose what @excellent91 have said, it is the sad truth, most of the gamblers out there are fooling themselves hoping to win, they are risking everything just for an unsure thing, which is winning.

The worst is that if a person came with a friend and he lose from gambling, that person might borrow some money to his friend and used it to gamble instead of using his own transportation money lol. You're not normal if you used even the last money you have just to gamble.

I have a control and would stop it because I know it is not easy to recover the lost amount and could not afford more loses. Also as I only ply for fun will do it occasionally if I can afford to lose that more in coming time. Instead that amount now would invest in crypto as markets are down so can get at lower price those coins.

I think people who are addicted to gambling will still continue gambling to gain loss. But I think it is not good for them because they might loose more money instead of winning. Even I tried many time to quit gambling but I cannot able to divert even though I am loosing.
That's why you are going to say that they are trying to get back their losses because it's hard to profit from it knowing that in gambling it's going to be a risky thing to continue because you are just going to lose more money then expected or planned.
It depends on how much I lost. If it's huge then I'll go all in even my money to get home. I don't want my mind bugging me all day or week and years having the if's like what if I win or if I have taken home the jackpot with that money.
