Prizes are not really a "marketing budget" thing if you ask me, because I feel like if they incorporate the winnings to losses together, like if you lose 100 satoshi and 90 of it goes to house and 10 of it goes to some prize in the future, that is a whole lot different than hiring a social media manager or something, I can't justify a prize to an instagram post and then tell myself that those are both marketing.
Yeah, there are different ways of doing marketing but this is just way too different from each other and that doesn't sound like they are similar in any kind of way. If prizes are in the marketing budget then they should be marketed with banners and advertisements and signature campaigns or whatever else you can think of and let it be known all around online.
You can call the prizes whatewer you want. Whether they are kind of marketing or not, they are very very effective in bringing gamblers to the website.
This thread has been created for marketing purposes. With the contest wol.bet is condicting they have something important to say. So, the contest makes the marketing more effective. They are also spending part of their budjet on signature campaign. The signatures bring some bitcointalk users to this thread and the first thing attract their attention is the contest.
I think prizes goes into type of marketing strategy, why? because that could be the goal to attract gamblers to play on their site. I myself am an internet marketer, I have many ways to do marketing, even giving discounts, promos, etc. that are included in the marketing strategy.
And I agree with you, signature campaign brought gamblers to this thread and they saw various prizes and interesting contests so they were interested in playing on this site wolf.bet. I myself do not agree with @davinchi that everything that is not related to the marketing budget then it cannot be said marketing, making the thread in this section does not require a budget but it is feasible in a marketing strategy.
