Since your account has been with this forum for a long time. And now there are many accounts that have been handed over and those accounts are tagged if caught. But if you want to sell then it will be the biggest folly for you. Selling accounts in this forum is completely prohibited and if any spammer wants to do this, then the account will definitely be lost. If you need money then you have enough rank to work on campaign. So if you want to eliminate your financial problems by working on campaigns with your account would be a good option. And selling accounts is strictly prohibited and considered spamming.

I just noticed that people were selling their bitcointalk account here
And I am wondering how much mine would be worth  Huh
It is almost 10 years old !
All those people who are selling their accounts are lazy people who cannot make good post to be accepted in Btc service signature compaign. It's not worth how old your account is but your rank will be considered because most of buyer only buy accounts because of joining signature compaign purpose. I think if someone as a full member just join bounties signature, its more profitable than selling account cheaply .

This is also another point worth mentioning. If you cannot grow your account, buying a high ranked account won't help as you will not get merits because you won't be posting anything constructive. Also, these days, only being high rank account does not grantee you a spot in signature campaigns, you need to be good in writing too.

I continue the btt account, so it is more valuable than anything.

Yeah, until you sell it and it get noticed / flagged, the most valuable thing becomes the most useless thing especially for the buyer of that account.

There is no rules regulations to buy or sell bitcointalk account. If he/she does not continue his/her account, he/she can sell or do anything. Though it was 10 years old or new, owner of the account can do anything. I continue the btt account, so it is more valuable than anything.

Your BTT account is a gem you should keep for yourself and I am sure you will be happy you did because years from now you will browse through you comments/posts and laugh out loud. No money paid for it will ever replace that joy especially since you don't seem to be using your account for signature campaigns.
I would just say one thing to everyone who are willing to sell their accounts. No matter how high the rank you have as long as you do not sell it, it is worth any amount but as soon as you sell it, it will be worth zero. The reason i am saying this because sooner or later, people will know that it is a sold / bought account, and it will be tagged making it worthless. So better never sell your account and keep it with you even if you are not active on this forum.
Well said. I think it's not worth selling your Bitcointalk account at all, as it is much more valuable to the owner. However, once it is sold, it will likely lose its value and be flagged with negative trust. I would not recommend anyone to sell their account, as it is worth a lot and should be thought of as a passport or ID. I have already seen a few people sell their accounts here and they have been flagged or tagged after a while, so anyone considering this should be careful before making such a foolish decision

I think you have missed one more thing and that is the account farmer in the forum. There has also been a rise in the trend of account farming on Bitcointalk forums to earn money through signature campaigns and various other trading activities. And for this, if the accounts are bought and sold, the DT members tag negative trust.

It's is true that  the process you mention by doing that we can find that the changing of email we can easily find it on BPIP But I think it is also a misconception to think that just because the email has changed, the owner of the account has changed or the account has been hacked. The account's previous posts and current posts are compared to understand if the account has been hacked or the owner of the account has changed.

Account farmers were first banned in this forum around 2017 if I'm not mistaken cmiiw, many people created accounts and sold their accounts to people who had the intention of using multiple accounts in campaigns and fortunately theymos implemented a merit system so the habit slowly disappeared.

indeed someone who changes email cannot be said to be selling/trading on that account, but the DT team will definitely interrogate the owner of the account and if it finds a failure in verification (as the old owner of the account) then the account will get a tag.

Apart from being an errant to the decency of the Bitcoin forum's rule, I think selling a bitcoin talk account is also detrimental to one's privacy.
If anyone plans on selling his or her account, such person should have a good way of changing all the necessary information that could give way for an intruder to invade his or her privacy.
If there could be a way of changing some private details of the real owner to that of the new owner, I believe insecurity challenges will be curtailed. Otherwise,  it's a bad decision to take.

You are a Sr member and your account may be worth a lot but as soon as you will sell it or even try to sell it, it will be of no value, useless.

Account sales are not encouraged and i would suggest you never sell or think of selling your account. If you do not want to use it, keep it with you.  I can't stress it more, DO NOT SELL YOUR ACCOUNT. You would regret it if you sold your account.

Selling or buying a bitcointalk account is not a smart choice and for me a bitcointalk account is priceless because with a bitcointalk account you can generate coffers of profit by joining signatures. Likewise, if buying a bitcointalk account is very risky, if you get caught by DT, you will be given a negative trust tag.

Even if you are busy with real life and don't have time to open the forum, it would be nice if your account was left alone because one day you will need another bitcointalk account. If there is an intention to sell an account, remember when you created and built the account with great difficulty.

For me, my Bitcoin Talk account cannot be purchased for any price, this account is priceless to me. Also, account selling on the forum is discouraged. Moreover, there are many dt members who view account selling as a offens and they will put red tag for that.
I don't think those who sell sell accounts for any good purpose, they either buy and sell accounts through account firming, and hack etc.

Don't buy merits - Earn them.
Don't buy an account - Build yours.

It doesn't make any sense to buy merits or accounts from anyone, you can easily build yours and earn a good reputation in the forum with your account, this will even make your account very precious to you, some people hack members' accounts and sold them off, later the real owners will tag the account, who lose?

Hi, welcome to the forum value of the account depends on various factors such as the reputation, activity level, and the market demand for your account. However, I would strongly advise against selling your Bitcointalk account, as it is against the forum's rules and can result in a permanent ban. Furthermore, selling your account to someone else means giving them access to your personal information and compromising your privacy and security.

Don't spoil your honor by saying such unreal and baseless things. You yourself understand how important your account is. If you can work on a good campaign with your account but you can earn constantly. A good quality Bitcoin account is very valuable. But this account is worthless if you sell it or destroy it. So don't damage your account by selling. You hold the forum on your own. You will see that you can earn a lot of money from here.

I did not remember the full details of the story, but I remember that the owner of the account was banned, so he bought the account and continued to work with it for several years.
A bigger case is a participant in ChipMixer gang. He bought an account, built it up and had no idea about the forum discourage about account buying/ selling. He was added to DT gang as well.

A drama appeared and he was out of ChipMixer gang as well as turned to be very inactively in the past 4 years.

By the way one post of theymos about this

This is part of why account trading is strongly discouraged. Usually we won't even consider this excuse, since only admins can properly investigate it, it takes too much time, it's often too ambiguous, and you really shouldn't be trading accounts anyway. But especially for very veteran members, we do occasionally look into these claims and reconsider the matter based on them. This isn't the first case like this: there are a surprising number of notable members who originally bought their accounts.

As others have said here, I also have no idea how much an account like the rank you have is worth? Because as far as I know this forum doesn't allow it.

Then the rank that you have, you can use that to earn more than the value of what you sell. But you said you don't plan to sell your account because you're just curious, that's fine.

some members sell their accounts for various reasons: some are busy with work in the real world - aiming to deceive buyers or other members - some are because they no longer have passion in the forum.

It is very easy to detect whether the account has changed hands because usually those who change the login email for this forum will be listed on their account and usually the one who changes the forum email is the buyer or the account that was hacked.
It's is true that  the process you mention by doing that we can find that the changing of email we can easily find it on BPIP But I think it is also a misconception to think that just because the email has changed, the owner of the account has changed or the account has been hacked.
