And thanks to some friends i will be doing a board for these too:

That's great news!
Now we need bitfury to put the raw chips back on sale and have you do your magic  Cheesy

I am really excited about the fact that it is going to be an end-to-end EU DIY operation.
No customs, no inter-continental shipping, no shady chip suppliers involved...

Let's hope they have the chips back for sale sometime soon so we can get a group buy going...
I think I can be of assistance with the shipping there, I can go pick the chips personally from their base of operations in Finland and bring the chips to the UPS office next to the airport to ensure they get shipped ASAP, that should probably save at least a day of shipping time if not more.

Those are the BFL or Bitfury ones?

BitFury, and i will again be trying to push these chips further then the competition.
Target is 5Ghash/s per chip or more.

@SebastianJu
i tested your 1.4V 450Mhz+ settings - the voltage regulator cuts out due to over-current that reduces hashrate A LOT.
1.350V seems a good voltage for 450mhz though.

Hi Burnin,

Aren't these chips rated at 2 Ghash/s and haven't they been tested (maybe) to get 2.7 Ghash/s?
That sounds unbelievably high to shoot for 5Ghash/s. Wow...

The amount of rebate burnin could give would change practically zero to ROI since his work is less than half the total cost. And burnin at the end wouldnt be rewarded. Doesnt sound like a solution to me.

@Bogart... Check out this website: http://mining.thegenesisblock.com/ and keep sure you keep the starting of mining into account.

Agreed.  But what happens if the chips never arrive?  I am in Zefir's batch 5, my Bitburners should be churning out coins
as I write this, but I am not holding my breath that I will ever have a device given Avalon's random kind of business.
What happens if the chips have not arrived by October?  They are pretty much worthless by then.

Are you saying that Customs has not released them?  It looks like they have on the tracking page: http://i.imgur.com/sRoFrnp.png
Yes, i will pick them up tomorrow, once i verified that the chips are functional i will send out a assembled board asap.

And thanks to some friends i will be doing a board for these too:

Absolutely interested in these chips and boards, as the Avalon boards may never materialize due to
lack of chips.  Been watching Bitfury for quite some time, and really like their work.  Please put me
in your pre-order line for potential group buys of chips and your boards once they become available.

Nice to see you will support the bitfury chip.  Keep us updated as to how many chips to order per board, anything to get away from Avalon and its practices.

+1 on the chip numbers. If you could pls let us know asap so that we can get in on group buys for them Smiley
Thx

I have new firmware for you, that will increase the effective hashrate.
But it requires the newest cg-miner build from source to function.

https://www.dropbox.com/s/0lo1t40yhkbsq25/BB_Firmware_1.0.2.hex

This one now has a  number  Grin

And don't mix different FW-revisions in a cluster.

burnin i saw this on your website "Grab the current firmware.hex file" Will that be updated with new firmwares? I think some kind of "Releases" or "Firmware" tab is needed in order to find it easier.

1.350V seems a good voltage for 450mhz though.

So the lower watt usage is the result of the voltage regulator blocking the energy like a fuse to not being damaged?

I now checked tracking for the 20 chips and saw they reached you.

Burnin, my chips have been awaiting you at your post office.  Tracking says "Addressee requests own pick-up - Item being held, addressee being notified"

See my PM for the tracking number.

They are at the customs office.

Does that mean there is a fee due?  What does it take to get them from the customs office?

Would you mind showing the calculation that you use to base your "impossible to get ROI" opinion on?
Not trying to pick a fight, just want to make sure that you have solid argument.
Can you give an example of any other design that can accommodate your chips that would provide better ROI?
Yes, burnin's design is more expensive but it also provides you with the OC'ing capabilities that none of the other DIY projects do at the moment.
Also, I appreciate burnin's hard work and professionalism that is increasingly hard to come by when talking about hardware vendors.
I think the peace of mind that I get with burnin's service is worth the premium.

Will we be seeing a price lowering anytime soon? As it seems to have become impossible to get ROI with current prices.
