This the law of nature, if bitcoin not keep on developing and follow the development then one day it will collapsed and replaced by other coin, the technology is keep on advancing bitcoin will need to adapt to it to survive

That is mostly the speculations right now but blockchain is still the biggest transations right now and if somehow another coins could make something like with there own then i think that would be the start of its own downfall. Many altcoins have tried after bitcoin came out and so far the most successful and the longest is ethereum and chances are eth can make its own chain. For example ethereum somehow managaed to elevate its own technology and probably the has a lot more faster problem solving in terms of its issues but it is yet nowhere near the issues btc is facing right now.

Yes of course.
Bitcoin could be like yahoo.
If they do not raise their qualities to their members.
one example.
Accelerate the disbursement of money to its members.

Bitcoin should continue to give its existence in various places. When bitcoin can grow much better then bitcoin can last long and will not end like yahoo.

Yahoo was the first (?) search engine at the time when Internet started.  It was the pioneer in its field.  In the late 90's its market cap reached to a high closed to $120B.   Three and a half years after Yahoo started, Google came out and gradually took away market share from Yahoo.

After 22 years, Verizon bought it for $4.8B.  Would Bitcoin ending up like Yahoo in the future and got beat up by new competitions?

What do you think?  Please provide your reason(s) to support your view.
Then there will be an end, just that ending sooner or later. Just like widgets, once there is a new alternative, the old one will gradually be forgotten and that is the end of it.Of course, bitcoin is no exception only depending on the time.

No it won't happen.
Because we don't have a stupid bitch taking all the wrong decisions and although that getting paid millions.
Or do we...

Yahoo went down because of the greed and arrogance of its owners. They were wrong in putting too many advertisements on their search engine, and they erred in advocating a mandatory fee for sending the emails. But Bitcoin can't be compared to Yahoo. Obviously the greed is there (from the miners), but till now there is no viable alternative for Bitcoin. All the other alts are riddled with bugs.

Yahoo went down because it was crap.
The search engine was crap. The spam filter was and is crap.
Yahoo messenger was never meant to be used on mobiles.
And the list could go on and on and on.
Even the news section was stupid with articles tossed away in no sorting order whatsoever.

Crap? Just like Bitcoin's transaction times, costs? The chain reaction of it falling down 1000 whenever it drops 100?

Currently, all the other coins aren't much better, as they got other downsides... But what if there is something like GoogleCoin?  Shocked

Trump

The devs will determine if we will end up like yahoo or succeed like google. If they fail to address the the necessary adjustments in bitcoin to keep itself on top, then we will end up like yahoo.

Maybe it could happen with bitcoin, but currently bitcoin cant be beaten. Bitcoin has grown a lot and now it just cant crash down like yahoo. Bitcoin will atleast grow much more for 9-10 more years. I will not fall down like yahoo. Bitcoin has started in 2009, from then till now it has a immense growth rate from 0.39$ to 2700$. And more on the way.Bitcoin has also got some ATM in canada. its a global currency now and just cant stop down so be free to trafe with bitcoin.

First things first, Bitcoin is not the first cryptocurrency ever made, there have been projects for cryptocurrency but none of them have turned out very well. I think the problem with yahoo though was that they tried to expand too fast and they didn't have enough time to make all of them good. Yahoo sound have just done search and not expand into email and all of that
I think you are making this post due to the new ETH rise and since it rising now. But I don't think you should compare ETH with Bitcoin since they are very different things, ETH is centralised while Bitcoin isnt. But who knows, change happens and no one can predict the future and what will happen in 5 or so years. I am still sure that no one is making any new cryptocurrencies right now.

Who knows, maybe Bitcoin will crash but right now, the future for Bitcoin looks pretty bright. Good luck people.
well said mate, there's different venue and there's different audience who supporting the project unlike yahoo which only cater its existence and didn't try to grow much better the competition made it hard when google really make some twist but i think if OP referring with eth and btc its really a big question whether eth can surpass btc in the future.

I didn't know campaign manager Yahoo could be so famous Cheesy
Crypto currencies are just a funny joke when you distant yourself from bitcoin, it's not a joke, day after day it's growing stronger, yes if by any chance another coin could surpass the difficulty of mining of bitcoin and has as many ASICs as bitcoin then why not?

The sony walkman, compact disc, floppy disk, black and white television, vcr are few examples of pioneering tech that became obsolete, enjoy the ride, surely something better than bitcoin and the blockchain will be developed in the future.
I think here were mentioned a bit different kind of things. Not the technology development as you say here, but replacement one company by on other which actually has the same kind of business. I'm agree with that guy who mentioned weak management problem. I think this factor really can move bitcoin from it's leading position.

It could happen to bitcoin. The incident definitely entraps us to innovation and creativity that can attract users. For me if some time ahead there is a service that can show better quality of course bitcoin will become depressed. The important thing is we have to always innovate with bitcoin. Because with good service of course people will always use bitcoin. One of the trouble to be solved now is that the bitcoin delivery time is getting longer, this can be a serious obstacle.

Yahoo and Bitcoin is totally different that's why we can't compare their past and future outputs. Yahoo's future depends on the handler why bitcoin depends on the community.

Yahoo's failure caused by itself. If only they do such plans things will never get wrong. Changes on the core team always being made that's why the goal are not being set. Well that's really happened to a big company. But for bitcoin, the only cause of it's failure will be, if the community will not used it anymore which is chances for it is low.

Compare rates on different exchanges & swap.
Anything is possible only that the large market size of Bitcoin will make It hard for them to catch up easily. I think Bitcoin domination will end if it doesn't innovate more often. Bitcoin developers don't have to wait for problem to arise before running updates on the Crypto

Let's just hope it didn't get to that point where bitcoin will now be a pathway to others greatness but the issue is this when you don't move with the trend you get abandoned and that's exactly what I see happen to Yahoo. Google came and make life easier despite the fact that Yahoo has held sway for long. One thing is constant and that is change. I guess this is another open letter to the shakers in the block chain/bitcoin to find a way out of the challenges ravaging bitcoin.

Bitcoin was a peoneer in the digital currency world. I suppose there is an option that Bitcoin is going to be replaced with some more modern and developed crypto currency. Will it be Etherum or Litecoin I don't know, but today they both show good results of growth and spreading on the market.
We have to think about why shuch giants as Yahoo and Bitcoin can be forgotten? Weak managment is the answer.
