If humans can't survive then how Bitcoin would survive? We all know what would happen if suddenly we face nuclear war. Everything will be collapsed and the world economy wouldn't survive. The same will happen for Bitcoin. People should be alive and survive first before anything else. We will need a lot of cash or fiat in case of nuclear war. So everyone will start the sale definitely to survive their life. We have to be ready to see Bitcoin collapse as well. No other option except to saving humans.
Agreed. I don't really understand why the only focus was just on Bitcoin when we will be having a total world collapse. In a time of nuclear war, Bitcoin wouldn't be the first thing that will come to your mind when half or more of the population of the world would have died. We have seen what the effect of the Russian/Ukraine war is even doing on some aspects of the Worlds Economy. However, I do also agree that accessing the network even by the world's survival might be limited due to the level of physical equipment destruction, it will take decades again, and probably more than half the Bitcoin mined would be lost too.

It's designed to mimic life itself which will continue to replicate even if much of the living things are dead. If much of the nodes get blown up, the remaining will replicate gradually unless there is zero change of life surviving on Earth.
So, even if you have one or few nodes remaining and earth is still capable of sustaining life, Bitcoin will continue to exist as long as there is need for it. If knowledge and skills to create technology no longer exists, there will probably be no need for Bitcoin

~ As for Bitcoin living on i won't doubt that but while it still lives it will get slower for transactions to get verified, cost of mining will multiply drastically, many nodes might forcefully shot down due to the attack and many will lose access to their wallet as explosion will destroy lots of valuables and documents. A big chance for the internet to shutdown completely
Agreed. World war means there is no peace in every part of the world. Even though the internet still survives, many people will lose wallet data, private keys, and others due to war. Who would think to save data and other things when life is more important?

~ and use cases of bitcoin may reduce due to the distabilation in the normal order of things, but soon after , if there are any survivors left, and the internet is restored, there is the possibility that those bitcoins that were inaccessible will become accessible.
Even though bitcoin survives and the internet exists (maybe in some areas), I'm sure no one will use Bitcoin.

Bitcoin itself will survive a nuclear war, but it may become inaccessible, there will be a lot of destruction to properties and facilities (the internet services that was mentioned) at that point, and use cases of bitcoin may reduce due to the distabilation in the normal order of things, but soon after , if there are any survivors left, and the internet is restored, there is the possibility that those bitcoins that were inaccessible will become accessible.

What do you think about it? I read this article in the Market Times https://markettimes.co.uk/cryptocurrencies/would-bitcoin-survive-a-nuclear-war/ and in my opinion I don't see a future 'cause to have access to the bitcoin you need internet
The Internet was designed with the idea of surviving a nuclear war, but bitcoin needs more than the Internet in order to survive so this is something difficult to know.

However a more important question is if human civilization could survive a nuclear war? Or even if humans as a species could survive a nuclear war? As not only people will have to survive the nuclear blasts but then they will have to deal with radiation, cold and lack of food, energy and medicines, which is an environment very few of us could endure.

exactly, let us wonder if we can exist when the nuclear war occurs, do not rush to care about bitcoin or other assets. bitcoin only appears in the world 13 years and before there is no bitcoin, we still have a normal life but if the world is ruined by the nuclear war, we will no longer exist. i have never dared to think about the nuclear war script that will broke out because it is an end to the modern world today, it takes people for centuries to build

Nuclear war is very scary, and bitcoin is bound to be destroyed and will also experience serious deflation as the devices holding bitcoins will be damaged or destroyed. And most likely the person holding the public key died from being hit by a nuclear bomb and there is no way to access their bitcoin wallet, because the situation is very chaotic, corrupted and also hampered in every way.
and when cities experience ballistic and cruise missile attacks, power grids and cellular networks will begin to die en masse, either due to destruction or for security reasons. Most people won't even be able to connect to the internet properly, most bitcoins are unusable and anything that can't be used has no value.
and gold, non-perishable and durable medicine and food which I think will outperform all other assets.

What kind of cash can we talk about, and even more so about bitcoin? If one side uses nuclear weapons, does anyone doubt that the other side will fall behind it? There will be powerful explosions in different places on the earth, can anyone survive? Even if those who are strong in health suddenly remain, they will die a long and painful death, and certainly, there will be no talk of any bitcoins. Just read the consequences of a nuclear explosion in Japan, who thinks it will be better?

Bitcoin will probably be useless at that time, and plus the solar system in outer space will be much more dangerous when it comes down to earth, because of the impact of the nuclear bomb that we know is a mass killer that the whole world fears.

We just think that if what is attacked is the center of energy that is needed by everyone, of course it makes us return to the cruelty of Batu, relying on everything for life's needs, even though farming, of course the gas that will be inhaled when the nuclear war is over will become a dangerous gas for the environment around us.

I really hope it will never happen, even though it could happen at any time, but at least we can give our voice to ban or condemn the big countries to do it...

Mostly useful resources would survive and be required if a nuclear war happens. Yes technically Bitcoin would survive as long as one part of the internet survives, but it wouldn't really be usable, just like fiat. Methods of payment or transactions would probably move from such stuff to instead as I said, resources that can be used immediately. There wouldn't be any rules to transactions by then after all other than the most basic rule of all transactions, a trade of what you want to what we want kind of thing, and I hardly doubt Bitcoin, or any other similar type of asset like fiat, stocks, bonds or whatever could count as one by then.

Your opinion is correct, for any crypto transaction to be successful we need the internet.
Unless there will be no survival after the nuclear war, in that way we can say BTC dies together with all of humanity. providing there are survivals there will definitely be a need for the usage of electricity, internet, etc. which makes human life easier and more comfortable then BTC will survive, and there might be a pulse on transactions because of the war shock and the machines which will be destroyed, but as times go on, everything even before the public in fractures and basic amenities can be put to place, BTC transactions will be back to life.

If half of our planet get destroyed it means the other half will need to have steady energy source to power mining process and it will also mean the human who are survivors on the half planet must serve as  nodes for the network to function.  Once there is an explosion people will panic and saving a server might be the last thought that will come to peoples minds. If Bitcoin must survive a Nuclear war it relies on so many factors and the basics will be energy (power source) and the web

As for Bitcoin living on i won't doubt that but while it still lives it will get slower for transactions to get verified, cost of mining will multiply drastically, many nodes might forcefully shot down due to the attack and many will lose access to their wallet as explosion will destroy lots of valuables and documents. well this a good answer, as long the internet live the crypto will live  Cool but serious guys if this war not end soon we all gonna be rekt

i hope the nuclear war doesn't exist

I guess so. Bitcoin isn't tangible so it won't be blown into dust when nuclear bombs pulverize everything. They all remain in the blockchain. A copy could survive, which could later on be used to revive the network.

If the human race will survive a nuclear war, then people would begin to restore things right after. That includes the internet. But it might come at a much later point. First things first. I think human civilization would have a long time rebuilding itself. That depends on the scale of the war, though. But with human beings having the tendency to annihilate the world with their craziness, it could really be worse.

It is hard to imagine what life would be like after that event because a lot of things could arise from it, and the specialized area would probably be very different if everyone in the world were affected. As long as there is a way to recover information that we have already been doing now in this era, we could re-create it, so we need people who understand and possibly someone who would learn to do it, then we can re-create and relive it.

Stability cant be achieved in a nuclear war always remember not only BTC but also our all the technology, development, progress, and evolution cant stand against nuclear war as much I know remember the famous words, I don't know Which type of weapons are going to be used in WW3 but in WW4 there will be Axes and Hammer of stones.

I was sure somebody was going to quote that, but that's just not going to happen.

Assuming enough population survives after this to start a new war, do you think people will suddenly forget how to craft weapons? Even if a nuclear bombardment happens in every city on this planet there will still be enough scraps, and enough raw materials for everything to start just in a few years as it was before, it's not like we will be reduced to monkeys! There are thousands of pipe guns right now in the world, guns that look like coming from a zombie game, that can be crafted from scrapyard parts but they are still lethal.

Just think, if a nuclear war happens will thousands of people forget how to melt iron, how to get coal, or how to build an engine? No!

As for Bitcoin, it's all a matter of the scale of what that war will be, and more important what surviving means.
A copy of the blockchain will survive, a few computers or hopefully a few ASICs to keep mining also, let's ignore the difficulty adjustment and others, but would that mean people will still find a use for it? Cause things like sending money in minutes on the other side of the globe from which a few nukes just came might not be a priority anymore.

in my opinion bitcoin will not survive a nuclear war, because surely people will sell their bitcoins for daily needs. because of course what is needed is money. and of course the price of bitcoin will also go down, but of course people will have different views on this.

If nuclear war really happened, of course the most important thing that crossed our minds is how we can save ourselves and our families, because the most valuable thing is our own lives, and we only think about how we can fill our stomachs and what is certain is that we want cash to buy our needs for our needs during the war, in my personal opinion bitcoin will not survive if a nuclear war occurs, because it is certain that the internet will die, electricity will also die, if the internet is dead we will certainly never can access bitcoin again.

What do you think about it?

That is impossible to say. Most likely, no one would even be around to watch it unravel. That said, if somehow mankind survives long enough for the world to begin to rebuild, Bitcoin may still exist as a relic from the pre-apocalypse era.

I think Nuclear war is the hight of it. I wasn't around in the Times of the world war but, I know of a local war that almost divided my country, we didn't have much technology then as we do now but, we had transitor radios, a few walkie talkie and early generations phones and it was the most , most forks needed to keep up with the news. Life was hard as it is with wars and I don't think, anyone in his right mind even if a part of the world's population would be running nodes or mining during those times.
Surviving is the first thing given the nature of the weapon at play and just being out operating a mine and having troubles with hit amongst others is what non would be readybto handle. Bitcoin's survival would depend largely on the survival of humans first but still would crash and come back up.

The hypothetical question of whether Bitcoin could survive a nuclear attack is really impossible to answer. Both sides of the argument have merit, but it's impossible to know how an extensive nuclear war would affect our society, let alone the technology behind Bitcoin. For example, would it be a limited strike or full-scale? How many nukes are we talking about here? Would it be targeted at financial hubs like New York City or London, or spread out across the globe? Would banks and other financial institutions survive? What would the world economy look like?

Ultimately, the answer is that it's impossible to know. Even if the internet survived a nuclear war, which is very unlikely, there is no way of knowing how much damage would be done to our society and infrastructure.
