But I've heard a blockchain "expert" said that blockchain wouldn't grow that far if bitcoin isn't associated to its growth.

Well a lot of multi-billion dollar companies are applying patents on their own version of blockchain so I think even without cryptocurrencies the technology of blockchain has left will be use on other matters. They have made versions for medical records, bank records, government projects there also there will still be a lot of ideas for different kinds of blockchain. Cryptocurrencies just became the face of blockchain which made it noticeable to a lot of people (especially companies) and now it will live on without them in the future.

one of the most successful reasons behind cryptocurrency was blockchain system. It was taken a long time and it has a lot of potentials. People are trying to use it for numerous projects like smart contacts and even altcoins, But it can be used with mostly on solving problems which include huge databases. Technically, blockchain (it is blockchain, not chain block or chain saw, yeah) is just one approach to organizing a distributed, fault-tolerant database, so it can be used in this field specifically. It may be not a very efficient solution for in-house applications where there is no issue of trust between nodes, but in a trustless environment it is probably the best solution out there, though I'm not that tech-savvy to make any definitive conclusion in this regard

Yes off course it will continue to rise no matter what happens. I mean it doesnt matter if the crypto currencies exists anymore or not because as you said blockchain itself is base for them and this thing is not the other way around. Wink

Blockchain is self sustained technology which is there and can be modified due to its open and decentralised source and thus anyone can use it for their own benefits. This tech can be used anywhere in the world and in any industry. So surely it will survive on its own no matter what happens with the crypto currency.

To be honest, I believe that blockchain is not the blockchain without decentralization part of it. When banks and private institutions are adopting blockchain technology, they are not actually transferring the control as per the decentralization so we cannot take the full benefit of it in that case. However, when it comes to the real blockchain project, cryptocurrency is necessary as it is like the fuel for the whole infrastructure. We won't be able to use blockchain ideally without cryptocurrency, in my honest opinion.

I do not think this will happen. The basic stuff is running very well but it still does not have a good foothold in the world. It needs to stay this way for a long time and need some revision to attract more investors.

Blockchains don't technically need a currency, bitcoin is quite simply simply a token representing value but other more convoluted things can be put in blockchains besides simple tokens.
