I dont like to put all of my coins into a wallet so i dont think i would buy a hardware wallet and that is just because i know how bad the security of the wallets are.

Yes the security is not so good plus the fact is that they can get stuck and they you have the chance of losing your wallet forever.. so that is pretty sick if you are asking me.
If you guy's don't like keeping your coins in a wallet then where are you going to keep them, in your pocket or coin purse?

@ybalevia, can you provide any proof or information to back up your claim that hardware wallets have bad security?
Seems like that just their speculation, because too many I've always heard from the old member in here if storing in the hardware wallet is better than storing in your desktop wallet or especially online wallet.  and the chance for losing your money is just caused by your fault.

THeres nothing wrong in hardware wallets  because  i think the same thing  like others said  its somehow  safe compared on desktop or online but   in hardware wallet there also a risk but in minimal situations since you could  keep it  on  a safe place that no one knows but  having a hardware wallet  could be ideal if youre holding large amounts of bitcoin.

I disagree that the security of the bitcoin wallet providers online has bad security at all. Do you think blockchain has a bad security? I guess you are just putting out a statement without basis but I can't blame you if you think that online wallets does have poor security. For me, I won't go to buy hardware wallet it is just going to cost me another bucks.

Then where did you keep your coin, in exchanger or something else, well do you have any experience about the hardwallet coz i thought hardware wallet is safest coz you're literally make your bitcoin is offline, however there are some disadvantages of this kind of wallet, but as long as you keep your seed is safe even when you lose it or crashed it you can get your wallet back.

If I have a lot of bitcoins then I will going to consider to buy hardware wallet beacuse this is going to secure the bitcoins that I am holding.
I just need to put it to a safe vault or a place where I can just easily find it and not going to be familiar to other people. Because this is volatile and possibly to be stolen by others.

They said that it is way more safer than online wallets. But since i am not gaining too much amount and i have a big trust of the company operating in my place i guess it is really not necessary since i have also have to invest money on it.

I got a trezor and i have to say it is my best bitcoin purchase to date. I am very confident about my bitcoins stored on my trezor.  Even so when I got more bitcoins on my webwallet I make sure to transfer them to my trezor wallet, because exchanges can't be trusted.
I got it, and I think feeling confident for using a trezor and I can use trezor with electrum at the same time. maybe if the another people will saying if that is just waste a lot of your time and money, i think that is correct but it's matching with the advantages i can got it for my amount.

No I would not buy a hardware wallet because I think its not needed, I rather use a cold storage its safe and also better if you are asking me, a hard wallet is not good at all because it can also get stuck.
Due to that I think its not a good option for large amounts.

I don't think that I need hardware wallet because probably that I will going to invest again for buying it and for me since there are online wallets which are free then I will choose it.

And if ever I will going to buy hardware wallets there is a possibility that I will going to misplace it because I can forget easily for the things that I manage to store.

Buying a hardware wallet can be smart but I do not use one and also will never do this because it still has some risks.
As a example when it gets destroyed for some reason you have lost it all, I think simply for such a way its not smart to buy a hardware wallet, never planning to get one due to this..

Hi all,

I am doing some research for a Bitcoin company that is interested with developing a hardware wallet to see if it has a viable market. Trezor has some traction, but perhaps only in the existing Bitcoin community. With things like Multi-sig popping up everywhere, do you think this negates some of the pressing need for Hardware wallets? Interested to hear your thoughts.
Hardware wallet is best if you want to store your coins safely but unless someone has more than 5-10 bitcoins, buying a hardware wallet is not feasible
There are some potential risks if you buy a hardware wallet, such as losing it or even someone stole it.

Both online and hardware wallet  have potential risk of losing your bitcoin into it. Just put up to your mind the most important things to consider to be kept on a safe place like passwords, keys so that incase your account would be lost  you can retrieve it.
But to be hoenst at least about hardware wallets you can ensure that they do not become hacked and you have more control

you have a point but remember  hardware wallet  have also risk on losing your bitcoins it might be lost or  corrupted and theres nothing you can do about it.  Agree you have your control on your bitcoin when its in a hardware wallet just make it sure that it is  kept  in a secure place.

That could be happen if you are lame enough upon handling your hardwares but if you really placed it on secured area well you can make sure your btc is safe but those hard wallets are for people who holds lots of thousand, millions of btc or company that needed to be secured their btc since it was an ideal place for them where they can kept securely their btc and i think blockchain wallet is enough for people who do regular daily transaction.

Hardware wallet  would be very useful for those who hold large amounts of bitcoins as you also said, they can keep them in a secure place without any harm to those coins. For me having  a huge amount in online wallet would be risky i guess rahter than  putting up in on a hardware wallet.
Lol but it's very easy for you to losing it , like you saving your btc into hardware wallets like flash disk and that is very small and can disappearing at anytime

You can lose your hardware wallet if you are careless and  didnt even aware of the risk of losing it. If your a wise person and  you put importance in your money for sure you would put it in a safe place that no one knows and with that you can sleep  comfortably without  worrying anything about your bitcoins.
But for buying a hardware just like waste your money because if you already have a desktop for your and you can use that to save your bitcoin and become your personal wallet and especially for using offline wallet can make your amount is more secure and why you need to buy the hardware wallet?

You can choose if you want to store your bitcoin in hardware or on your pc itself but still there are risk  also when you intend to store those bitcoins on a pc wallet because it might be got virus or  crashed, you will not know what would happen the future. All have risk to lose those bitcoins if you dont pay attention  into it.

All of wallets have risk even if its trezor or web wallet the only thing matters their is how could thr owner handles his wallet and what is his doings to mae it more secured, but for big holders well it is very advisable to use trezor since web wallets got some bad issues if their users got huge stored balance on their web wallet applications.

True, using trezor would be  advisable if you hold  large amounts of bitcoin because it is somehow safe to store compared  to web wallets because the risk  on online wallets  is high compared to trezor in my own view but it really depends on a person on how  he handles  of  his money.

I would consider it because I heard its pretty safe but it can also have some risks if it as a example gets destroyed or something.
It has some nice plus points but also some down points right now.

No need to buy the bitcoin hardware wallet It's wast o money I guess because there are many options like clod storage  paper wallet and desktop wallet.
So avoid that money spending and simply use any these to secure your wallet. Because

Hardware wallets are an interesting concept, I think I'd be interested and more people probably would be too. I think if you make a poll it's kinda easier to see the response on the forum for this type of question instead of scouting trough the thread Wink

yeah they are good especially trezor, but it's still a high price for a newbie, that want to go with bitcoin for the first time, they need to lower the barrier, maybe making a low level trezor or something with less features but less expensive

For sure any newbies couldnt afford  trezor in the first place but  in newbies they wont need   a trezor since they are only earning  small amounts of money for sure. Having an online wallet or offline would do already unless if they are those newbies that are  already rich then  maybe its time to  buy hardware wallet.
