Forever? No... A long f*&#*ng  time?? Sure. As long as I'm not a bag of bones and and can move smooth, I'm in.

But death, death is the final frontier. Gonna need to face that someday.

Weird AF to think about.

I do not want to live forever. But for a moment I realize that people around me are leaving me they die one by one , and I live forever in years, and will eventually feel the loneliness and I just want to die.

Yes that's true if you look at it from the perspective that only you live forever and all the other people you know live regular lives. But what if the medicine is produced so everyone could live forever? Imagine it.

Yes. Think of how wonderful it would be if you were in a car accident, and you lost a leg, and a arm, and were decapitated, besides. You could use your one good arm to sling your chopped-off leg over one shoulder, and your chopped-off arm over the other shoulder. Then you could pick up your head with your one good arm, and hop away on your one good leg.

Cool

Nice one.   Grin

But dude seriously, before they discover immortality they will definitely first discover a way to grow/replace human organs and limbs. That's pretty much the way it will most likely go because why keep an 100yrs old and used body parts when you can have a brand new one. The other way would be to upload your mind into a new, probably made of some kind of tough material, body and live forever switching the bodies as needed. That would pretty much solve our problem of our fragile bodies and open a door to inter planetary exploration. I don't think that'll happen for a couple of hundred years at least but the technology and medicine are making progress every day at an astonishing pace. Only 100years ago people were using sticks to beat each other up and now we're riding on plans etc. Everything is possible and doable, we just don't have yet the tech to do it.

Scientists have made a discovery that could lead to a revolutionary drug that actually reverses ageing.

The drug could help damaged DNA to miraculously repair and even protect Nasa astronauts on Mars by protecting them from solar radiation.

A team of researchers developed the drug after discovering a key signalling process in DNA repair and cell aging.

During trials on mice, the team found that the drug directly repaired DNA damage caused by radiation exposure or old age.

'The cells of the old mice were indistinguishable from the young mice after just one week of treatment,' said lead author Professor David Sinclair.

Human trials of the pill will begin within six months.

Cool

Wow man, that would be awesome. I wonder if they perfected it after 1.5yrs since the article is from march 2017. I would certainly like to live at least 150yrs. This life span of ours is just too short. You learn, you work and you die. 60-70yrs fly by in an instant.

We know how happy we are to live in this world. Even though we have many problems in life, yet we find it enjoyable to live. If we have a chance to live forever, then I will be eternally grateful. Because life is so beautiful.

Probably not, but it depends. 60-40. 60% would be to choose not and 40% chance to say yes. I don't like the idea of seeing my loved ones die and i would be left behind immortal. But being immortal doesn't seem bad either, you'll have the chance to see new things, new beginnings, how things will change.

I would choose to live forever only if I could be young but if I'm old and sick in my life. Maybe living forever will be very painful

i dont want to leave forever. i love the idea of having a very limited time on earth. it makes things very exciting.

like seriously?
i think you must be joking.
i think having limited time to do something is all about an internal concept, not influenced much externally

Drug boosts immune system in elderly people by 40% and it also has antiaging effect in fruit flies

https://www.freedomsphoenix.com/Uploads/Graphics/522-0714064732-a.png

They safely reducing infections in elderly volunteers around 40% by enhancing the immune system.

In 2004, tests that blocked a similar enzyme in fruit flies gave them a longer lifespan.

Science – TORC1 inhibition enhances immune function and reduces infections in the elderly

Dialing down TORC1 dials up immunity

Aging may be regulated by a discrete set of intracellular proteins including the mechanistic target of rapamycin (mTOR) kinase. mTOR functions within two multiprotein complexes called TORC1 and TORC2. Inhibition of TORC1 has extended life span in every species studied to date and ameliorated multiple aging-related pathologies including declining immune function. Mannick et al. now show that low-dose TORC1 inhibitor therapy in elderly humans decreased the incidence of all infections, improved influenza vaccination responses, and up-regulated antiviral immunity. Thus, targeting the TORC1 pathway that regulates aging may have clinical benefits for elderly humans including improvement in immune function and decreased infection rates.
