Dear Bitstamp clients,

We are currently experiencing some problems with our banking software. As a result, deposits and withdrawals may be delayed. We expect this issue to be solved and be resolved tomorrow or the next day.

We kindly ask our customers with pending transfers to remain patient and refrain from submitting additional support tickets on the matter. We will announce as soon as this issue gets resolved.

Thank you for your understanding.

Best regards,

Guys, what's the matter with the delay of SEPA transfers lately? I've wired more money in the middle of last week and yet it still hasn't been credited to my Bitstamp account.

Obviously, I'm not the only one. Complaints about dragging transfers can be found all over this forum and other sites and the current order book just looks ridiculous with bids for 800 coins.

What is the problem? Why does it suddenly take way longer to credit these transfers?

I'm missing out on a lot of serious profit here and will definitely think twice about where to send my next batch of money, especially since there's no official communication whatsoever although this is obviously quite a big issue currently. Angry

Quick question @hazek:

Generally satisfied customer here. I have one request though:

Could you please consider implementing stop-market & stop-limit orders?

The way I see it, it shouldn't require a major overhaul of your interface or trading engine, and with respect to server resources it should actually be *net positive* (the trader who set a stop order is less likely to log in in a panic during a flash crash).

I am aware that I could get stop functionality through trading bots, but I trust your guys security quite a bit so I'd prefer to place stop orders *directly* through your page.

Any chance?

For anyone with problems with API access which appeared in the last 2 days, please make sure that you set CONTENT_TYPE header to 'application/x-www-form-urlencoded'.

This is very helpful, Thanks

Thanks for info. Finally, I have received an answer that my family bank account should not be used for funding my Bitstamp account in case the primary account holder is not exactly myself but some other member of my family (although obviously having same surname). This is weird but at least the funds did not lost.

It's been 7 days since I have sent SEPA to Bitstamp and my account has not been credited yet. Anyone else with similar problem?
Note that all my previous SEPA payments were processed within 48 hours and I have a verified account for a long time.

No problem here, I SEPA'ed some funds over last tuesday and they were credited in <24hrs.

www.bitcoinaverage.com

They have two orderbooks, so they actually contribute more than shown at bitcoinaverage.com because they also allow you to place orders on bitstamp - they are therefore about twice as large as reported, as bitstamp's volume is bumped by a few thousand because of bitfinex. See below.

https://bitfinex.com/pages/stats

They also have margin trading and stop loss orders so it pretty much blows all the other exchanges out of the water.

They offer discount on trading fees too with a referral coupon: bljWW56cHR
