Auction reopened. As winning bid was 1.205 Btc, first one who offers 1.205 Btc will be new owner ...

Reason ?
Its already 25 days and I still did not get money from auction winner, so I am starting to think he is not interested in buying. Sad

What price would you be willing to take just for the script only ?

1.205 btc minus 10 usd ...as domain costs 10 usd ..bitcointalk.org nick is for free

So what was the highest bid for the site ? Can you tell us why are you selling it, since we all know that running an exchange is very very profitable business?

Reason of selling is: lack of time ...

yes It was profitable in 10/2013 maybe ..when there were like 3 exchanges, now there are 40 exchanges on market.

Price was 1.205 btc ...

If you can spend lets say 8+ hors daily managing exchange, it can be profitable for you, unfortunately I dont have such amount of free time to spent Sad

What are the monthly costs of running an exchange like this vs one of the bigger exchanges like poloniex?

Depends on number of wallets (coins) you support, how opimized is your script etc...

If you have 1-3 coins your monthly hosing will be 60 usd+ for sure, https certificate (yearly payment), domain (like 10 usd year)

10+ coins ... I would say 100usd+ for hosting

If you are very big exchange, you should have 2 or more separate servers for security reasons and help you be online if 1 of them is down = additional costs ...

Running exchange is not as easy as lot of poor bitcointalk.org haters think Wink

VPS = $30/month maybe? If you're doing it on the cheap.

Not much more than that I'd say.

Bigger exchanges = bigger servers.

There is chance that winner of auction wont buy the exchange.

Reason:
He didnt realize that every new coin and its wallet, auto wallet address generating for clients /deamon/, and auto deposits for coin has to be coded as separate application. That means additional costs 20-50 usd for each coin (depends on how many usd per hour charge programmer of application)

Therefore there is chance that autcion will resume.

I already contacted owner of 2nd highest bid

If someone else is interested you can place bids in thread or PM me. Last highest bid 1.205 Btc
